I came across this company through American Home Shield a few years ago when I requested a second opinion on my rent house not cooling properly. The first company (A) had come out and stated that the coil needed cleaning and that it wasn't covered under the AHS warranty so I had them come back and clean it. The house still did not cool properly and this first company was making a lot more excuses. When I requested a second opinion and Patriot came out he said 'the coil needs cleaning really badly' - I was shocked as the first company (A) was supposed to have cleaned it the previous week. Steve, Patriot's owner, was amazed. He told me that if I hadn't already made payment then to stop payment and that if the first company (A) tried to sue me, then he'd be happy to come to court with me with all the pictures he was taking of the filthy coil. WOW! What an honest, nice guy!!
Steve quit being a contractor for AHS as they encourage the contractors to keep the price of any repair under $200 - as you all know it often costs a lot more than that to repair a furnace or a/c unit. It a contractor recommends replacement of the unit or repairs over the $200 then they go to the bottom of the list and don't get any calls for quite a while. Steve believes in doing right by the customer/consumer and could not adhere to AHS's guidelines.
The latest company (B) that AHS sent out to fix my heat pump vandalized it, and I had Steve come out to see what he could do to remedy the situation. He is a very honest, trust worthy and fairly-priced guy. Now that Patriot no longer works as contractors for AHS, and due to the fact that the other contractor (B) lied to AHS and has now caused AHS not to authorize the repairs/replacement of my unit, I will be changing to another home warranty company and I'm sure hoping that Patriot will be on their list of approved contractors. There are a lot of cowboys out there in the heat and a/c business as I know from personal experience dealing with companies A and B, so it's very nice and refreshing to find such honesty and integrity from Patiot
