My wife and I are DIYers. We wanted to expand our kitchen by taking in an existing patio under the existing roof line. To do this involved moving a load-bearing wall and installing an engineered beam. We knew we needed professionals for this part of the job.
We contacted Mitchell Roofing and Remodeling and they sent an estimator out to survey the project. We were told we'd be contacted within a week once the bid was completed.
3 1/2 weeks later, after several phone calls to the estimator, I emailed the company and asked them to refer us to a local contractor if our project didn't fit into their companies chosen scope of work. I was contacted within days and another estimator was sent to our home to estimate our project over again. I was told to expect contact within a week. 9 days later, I received a call from the estimator stating that he had my bid and would like to discuss it in person. As Sunday is my only day off I explained that I'd prefer email or phone consultation. I was told "No, I'd like to do this in person". So we set an appointment time the following Sunday. The man was a no show. I never even got the courtesy of a phone call.
I've chosen a different contractor and have begun the project.
