EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED We fired Kelly Green Lawncare last Tuesday, after having used them for 5-6 years. We try to buy local whenever possible, and the change to Kelly Green from Mega-Corporate Chemical Lawn originally seemed to have been a good choice in terms of both performance and price. In 2019 (pre-COVID), we began to notice that the lawn just didn’t look good anymore. It got to the point that other lawncare providers were walking up to our front door doing cold sales pitches, because it appeared obvious to them that we didn’t have a lawn service. We called Kelly Green, and they were very nice. They stated that they had had some problems with certain techs, and they were correcting the issues. If we’d stay with them, we’d be credited for the last two service calls, and the Manager would manage our yard personally to ensure that the job was being done right. We accepted their offer and stayed with them. Fast-forward to 2021. We were unimpressed with the appearance of our lawn again. The yard did not look thick and healthy. We had crabgrass, again. We had dandelions for the first time in 20 years. Clover was making a comeback in our yard. Last Tuesday, I found out why. I was sitting in a room overlooking the street when the white Kelly Green van rolled up and parked. According to both my clock and the time the technician wrote on the invoice he later left behind, it was 10:35am. The tech sat in the van for several minutes, using both his phone and some other device. He then got out and unstrapped the broadcast spreader from the rear of the van. He reached into the van and retrieved a bag that appeared to be about ¼ full (10 pounds?) which he loaded into the spreader. He then retrieved another bag from the van and proceeded to dump what appeared to be an equivalent amount into the spreader from the new bag. With a broadcast spreader loaded with what appeared to be roughly 20 pounds of product, he proceeded to “treat” my entire lawn of about 26,000-ish square feet of grass. He did not reload the spreader. As the product was stated to be a “balanced fertilizer”, I was surprised that he could effectively treat my entire yard with a fraction of a single spreader load. The invoice also stated that the tech “treated weeds as needed”. As he had walked/jogged past the dandelions, clover, and crabgrass without slowing, this simply did not happen. The tech then loaded the spreader back onto the rear of the van and spent a few more minutes with phone and clipboard before jumping out and sliding the invoice under my door mat. The tech then got back into the van and pulled away from my house. At 10:47am. Twelve (12) minutes after he had arrived. To be charitable, let’s assume that he spent only half of his time sitting in the van, but that still means that he spent a grand total of only six (6) minutes actually servicing my lawn. Twelve minutes of total presence at my house, for an invoice of $131.61. That equates to a rate of $658 per hour. You’ll have to trust me on this, but my lawn DOES NOT look like it’s getting $658/hr worth of care. Since January 1 of this year, Kelly Green Lawncare has invoiced me for five treatments, totaling $852.53. Since four of the five treatments were performed by the same tech who I observed on Tuesday doing such a pitifully poor job, when I look at my lawn I am of the very strong opinion that I have not actually received the services for which I have been billed. I did call Kelly Green, again. They were very nice, again. They made - essentially – the same retention offer they made last time. This time I am not staying. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice… Why 2 stars? They do get partial credit for being very nice on the phone and they do a solid job of letting you know they are coming, which is important to dog owners. They just don't seem to have anything like Quality Control, at all.

We moved into a newly constructed house in Dec. 2012. Early in 2013 we hired Kelly Green to help with a brand new 1 acre lawn that was completely overwhelmed by weeds of every kind. They did the first year treatment and the next spring saw a much lower number of weeds, and by the third year there was about 96% control. Our lawn looked as good as any in the area. Each year we have not had to worry about the weeds using Kelly Green. I would however give them an A-, if possible, because the grassy weeds continue to be a problem. But they are not pervasive and Kelly comes out whenever I call for another hit. We have had good success with their service.

Kelly Green does a great job. The service technician shows up regularly and leaves a yard notice so that we know what to do with our pet. He also leaves a detailed description of the services provided. We would recommend this company to everyone - especially those that have had a poor experience with the two other major providers in this field.

We started with Kelly Green (KG) back in 2013 at our newly built house just southwest of Fort Worth. Our 1+ acre lot was basically grass sod rolled out onto pretty solid rock. That spring we got a notice from our HOA about how bad the weeds were. So, after checking around, we selected KG. One year later we had more grass and very few weeds and we have used them ever since. I have watched a couple of neighbors continue to struggle with their yards, but KG keeps our lawn looking good. Last year I added fire ant protection and will continue to do that as well. They have responded quickly when I have called about any issues that I might have. So we will continue to use them as long as they maintain this performance. (KG asked if I would write a review when I signed up for this year (2020) again, but we are not related in any way to anyone at KG and got nothing in return. They just have done a good job for us.)

INCREDIBLY overpriced & **** poor service overall. I hired them for general lawn fertilization and to treat some minor bare spots & my lawn looks exactly the same as it did before they started my services in February of 2019. They would never spray my entire property, I would watch them on my cameras. They'd come out, spray a little bit here and there and hit the road within a few minutes. I would never recommend using this company for lawn fertilization services to anyone, and especially not at the outrageously high rates this company charges.

We just renewed our contract with Kelly Green Lawn for the 2nd year. Our lawn looks really great. We have used other companies in the past and changed to Kelly Green Lawn because we were not happy with the weeds in our lawn. The price below is for the full year's service and includes aeration.

The entire yard died after they sprayed. They blamed it on fungus even though the dead grass has a distinct line at the property line between us and the neighbors. We had already prepaid for an additional year and now they will not refund it. They are spraying the dead yard. Takes weeks to even get them to come out and discuss the problem. No resolution when they did finally come. We paid hundreds for them to kill the yard and then not honor any guarantee.

The service hasn't changed since last year unfortunately the temps in April have been below normal & some St. Augustine lawns have been slow to green up especially if the lawn has some shade & when green up is slow it's always most obvious in lawns that don't have a bunch of weeds. I'll have the field manager out this week to look at your lawn, access it currant condition & come up with a plan to help push the lawn along for a quicker green up & recovery. They're OK. I use them continually. I would say that they do a decent job but, to be honest, I've used like four different providers over the years, but none of them have done an outstanding job, so I'm still looking.

Our lawn looks fantastic! Our ongoing service with Kelly Green Lawncare is top notch. We had many problem spots and weeds before they started treating our lawn. We had another very large, well known, national company tell us we would be better off just resoding our entire back yard. I'm glad we asked Kelly Green for a second opinion, because treating and fertilizing the yard did the trick in less than 3 months, our grass is perfect.
