K HOVNANIAN HOMES

I looked at several new H Hovnanian houses in the area. A sales person drove me around to each house and gave me tours. I really liked one of the houses, but it didn't have upgraded countertops. The sales guy said that they could replace them for about $3000. When I returned to the sales office, another sales person contradicted the statement by saying that the builder would go back into a finished home. I had also been told that the land next to the addition would be a new phase for K Hovnanian, but then the rep told me that they weren't building there at all. They told me that there was a city ordinance against trains blowing their horns, but guess what - I hear them all the time. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the sales staff. I did buy a K Hovnanian Home, but not directly. Someone in the neighborhood posted a "For sale by owner" and I bought it from them. The nice thing is that K Hovnanian has a great warranty plan that's fully transferable. When our air conditioner quit working, the K Hov people had someone out to fix it within an hour (and that was around 7pm). They also adjusted the sprinkler system when it was spraying over the fence and offered us sod to replace the dead area. I am very impressed with the home quality and the warranty. I also like the way our roads and landscaping are laid out.
