DOORS BY DESIGN

This project went very smoothly and according to schedule. Bill arrived at my house at the appointed time (actually, a little bit early), and then proceeded to impress me with his knowledge of doors. The job started out being about replacing the front door (including the sidelights and transom), but ended up being only the two doors going into the courtyard. We didn't do anything to the front door (maybe next year, if Chesapeake will ever drill that well?) His installers didn't mess around, and they didn't leave a mess either. I like that.

Bill rocks! I had a door from my grandmother's childhood home that we wanted to use in our new house. The door was a bizarre, non-standard size, covered in blue (probably lead) paint, and frankly rather unattractive. I stripped the door myself to save a little money, and then Bill took over. We drove the door out to him and we tested out stains and planned the attack. I am rather sentimental about the thing, and Bill was quite indulgent. He even sent me photos along the way. His guys came out and installed a temporary door during construction, and then came back to install the door when we were ready. I was sentimental before, but now I'm just plain in love with my door. He did an amazing job.

From the initial call with Bill, the installation with Allan: exceptional! Professional, helpful and knowledgeable. Quality of work exceeded expectation. Type of attitude you always enjoy being around.

Bill came out a couple of times to measure and talk about what kind of door and glass we wanted. We settled on a fiberglass door and picked something out from his book. He mentioned that he already had some glass that he could put in the door and it would save us around $400. We weren't really picky about the glass so it worked out well. Jason came out to install the door and did a great job. It took him about six hours, but it looked wonderful. My only complaint is that the entire process took a long time, and Bill is very difficult to get in touch with. I think I first contacted Bill in August/September and the door wasn't installed until mid-November. We weren't in a rush so I wasn't really pushing things to move faster, but at times it was frustrating that things didn't seem to be moving along.

The ordering and installation went great. They stained one door and it looks beautiful. They cleaned up the area as if they were never there. If I had any more doors to change, I would hire them again.

They did a beautiful job, and it was done absolutely perfectly. The job was done in a little over an hour. They repainted both sides so it matched. For the front door, they came out on the 4th of July and delivered and installed the front door. This thing belongs in a catalog, it is so gorgeous. It is just beautiful.
