This guy was great. He worked on a Saturday, showed up on time, and crawled in the limited space under our house. There was not dead critter, but he did see that some of our pipes had separated. He took pictures of the pipes and emailed them to us so we could send them to the plumber who had said it was a dead critter under the house.

They came on a weekend when I called, without asking for weekend service.
We have trapped 5 animals which they were quick to respond to my call and remove the animals.  They release them at one of 3 spots, insuring they are at least 5 miles or more away to reduce the chance the animal will return. Each time an animal was trapped, they were quick to respond and remove the animal. The fee included the first trapped animal ($260).  After that, I paid $80 for each additional animal - it was much better for the animals and myself to use the service, so another $240 for a total of $500 for all the animals trapped and removed and relocated.  I did my own work on closing the entry point and have been very pleased with the entire result.  Highly recommend the Critter Control of Bulverde.

We caught the culprit the very next day and they came within 2-3 hours to take the animal. They then reset the trap for a couple more days to be sure there were no more squirrels coming/going. After 3 days, they removed the trap and sealed the last entry point. Problem solved.
Both the office staff and the technician were friendly, courteous, and professional.

He came out and found a raccoon up there. He set a trap and there was a flag on the roof. If the flag is down, that meant there was a critter in there. He said we had to call him when the flag was down and within five days we caught him. I called them back and they came and picked him up.
He left a second trap to make sure it didn't have a mate or a family up there. Within a couple days the flag went down again and this time it was a possum.
Both animals were returned to the wilderness.
He also let us know how they had chewed their way into the attic and offered covers for the dryer vent so squirrels couldn't climb in. He repaired the damage where they had gotten in and we haven't had a problem since.

I was impressed with Critter Control's responsiveness and professionalism. The company sent Doug to my house each time and I felt like he became a friend after a while because he was so pleasant and easy to work with. He showed up on time, with a smile and ready to help. He got rid of all the raccoon activity in my attic and he found and sealed the access points and other holes that I hadn't even noticed. He did a very professional job in placing mesh over my vents and closing up the other holes. I was very happy with the results and have not had raccoons since.
The rats are a different story. I heard the noise in my walls and called Critter Control. They came out and placed rat baits around the exterior perimeter of my house. It helped but after a month, I still had just a little noise in my walls. I called another company, Bob Jenkins, just to see if they could get rid of the remaining rats. A Bob Jenkins serviceman came out, was nice and professional, and they installed rat baits like Critter Control had done. After a month, I still had evidence of rats (one of my cats killed a rat in my backyard, and I could still hear the noise in the wall). Bob Jenkins's company also sealed up a couple of holes they found, but the work wasn't nearly as professional and nice looking as what Critter Control had done. I think rats are extremely hard to get rid of permanently. Both companies said rats could fit through a 1/2 inch hole, and they can burrow under the house.
I will happily use Critter Control again for any of my future rodent issues! I recommend them to you as well.

I liked everything about them. They were very prompt, very professional and very sociable. It was raining and still they climbed on my roof and took care of everything. I was panicked because of the animal. I had a very professional and good experience with this company.

I had used this company before and though they were expensive, they had done an adequate job. I called them this time to see about rodents in my attic. They require you to give them a credit card when you make an appointment with them and then they charged me $280. for an estimate! I will never use them again.

I found them through the yellow pages first. I prefer not to disclose the amount that I spent. They were reasonably professional. They came out with uniforms and the heavy equipment that they needed. They didn't manage to catch anything for about a month. So I don't know if it was lack of effort or if the critters were just smarter. The result was nothing not done. I still have critters digging up my front yard. It's really annoying. Next time I think I will try a different company. The quality is hard to assess because they didn't catch the critters. They did reasonably well in terms of responsiveness. I contacted them several times and they came out every time I contacted them. They tried to fix things. They were good with punctuality. They were here when they said they would be here. They made their attempts to catch the critters but the situation is just probably odd. They couldn't control it probably and I just didn't get any results. So I don't know if it's their fault and if they did anything wrong. I don't think that I will use their services again in the future.

Employees are very personable and punctual. I was happy with the inside pest control but very unhappy with the rodent control (tree rats). They charged a lot of money and never fixed the real problem: a 4 inch hole by the gutter that was very noticeable from the ground . After 5 visits, they still did not fix it. They really mess up your house with sloppy mesh wire all over. They do not even try to make it blend in. Did not not clean up - lots of dirt and leftover pieces of material spread all over

I did not have a good experience with this company. I used rat poison in our attic and apparently it worked. Learn from my mistake - use traps, not poison to kill rats! A few days later, a horrible smell began to permeate the house. I called Critter Control and told them my problem. Sharon took my phone call and told me that she had an opening that day, but that the charge would be $150 - $250 depending on the difficulty of the removal. Doug came out that afternoon to search for the rat. Having never had this done before, I asked him what he was going to do and what the likelihood of finding the rat was. We also did a walkthrough of the living area of the house and I pointed out where the smell was concentrated the most. Doug donned a respirator and headlamp and went up in the attic. I shined a flashlight his way and watched from the attic door, having already crawled up there the night before with no luck. I watched Doug pull up insulation and put it back down in the far corner of the attic, over where I had pointed out the smell. After about 15 minutes, he came back down and said he though with an 80% certainty that the rat was in a wall void between a closet and our add-on bathroom. He cut one messy hole in a wall, sniffed, said it wasn't there and asked if I wanted him to cut any more holes. Afraid for my wall, I told him to stop cutting. He gave me a can of air freshener and a bill for $89.00 for the service call. Three days later, the smell was horrendous. My pregnant wife and I slept in other areas in the house because the smell was just too bad. We kept windows open all night. I decided to give the attic another try. My attic is horrible for this sort of thing - it's very low, and you have to slither through a tiny hole to get to the back of the house. I started looking along the back wall to see if I could find the rat in insulation near the add-on bathroom. I was unsuccessful, except that I could not detect any smell coming from that specific area. The next day, I started drilling sniff holes in the wall myself. I found a concentration in the closet, but on the opposite wall - the one that Doug had said was capped. After buying a real paint respirator and headlamp (instead of the paper masks and flashlight that I had been using before) I went up to the attic to take a look again, and, lo and behold, I found the rat! It was in the middle of a piece of insulation that Doug had definitely picked up and replaced. That made me mad - aren't I paying these people to do a thorough job? I could climb around in people's attics for $180/hour! I removed the insulation with the rat and put down some odor eliminator granules. Although the smell isn't gone quite yet after a week, it is definitely less than before. I have been up a couple of more times to look for other sources of odor and to remove more insulation. I wouldn't have a problem with the fee if the rat weren't so easy for me to find. But the rat was on top of the ceiling, not in a wall, and Doug actually moved the insulation where the rat was to look underneath it! Maybe some more experience will help. I feel like I am owed a refund for the service call since the "service" wasn't at all thorough. By the way, my wife called the office to complain afterwards... and found out that Sharon does not deal well at all with criticism. Sharon wouldn't put a manager on the line, either. I won't be going back with these folks. I found out that when a company doesn't have a vested interest in completing a task, taking the easy way out (at $89 a visit) becomes a much easier choice to make.

The real pity here is that LAST YEAR the guys who came to deal with the critters and set the traps were wonderful, They were polite, informative, helpful, and very professional. I learned a lot about the animals, and was pleased to hear that the were being re-located to very big private ranches. One of the workers was the one who told me that once the account is established (set-up) it is in place and from then on the cost is just $75 per animal. I re-varified this with a woman in the office (not the one I talked to today). Apparently this is a big national franchise, and not locally owned. That may expalin the rediculous fees. This financial bait-and-switch however completely destroys the on-the-ground competence of these wonderful workers, as the front office seems to think that it is perfectly OK to say whatever they want at the first interview, and then conveniently forget what they have said. I would not be surprised if the people who currently own this franchise are not the same owners I dealt with last year. My point, dear reader, is just to make sure that you UNDERSTAND the you will pay a set-up fee EVERY TIME you do a new removal(s), as well as a PER ANIMAL cost. They clearly do not believe in existing customers, or ongoing business relationships.

I chose the company based on their reputation and price. However, the price paid by other customers on Angie's List appears to only include the initial visit. It does NOT include the cost to have the critters removed which can vary depending on how many and whether they are alive or dead. There is a charge for each one removed. I misunderstood the technician regarding the flag on the trap. He said to call if it was down, not just if it moved. Apparently, you're supposed to call if it moves at all. I didn't call because the flag was still up even though it had "moved". I figured there were any number of things that could cause it to move and that if the trap had been tripped, it would go down completely. I misunderstood, so the first squirrel had been dead for several days by the time they removed it. The office manager took that into account and only charged me the amount for removal of a live animal.

First they came out and assessed the situation, then they baited the area more than once to be able to do the job. I liked them because they took care of something I didn't want to do myself! It was one man plus another man who seemed to be training.
