I agreed to the price and we scheduled installation for three weeks later. Everything went well. Because of the rain things did ago a little slower than planned, but I'm very pleased overall.
When I bought my home, I had Prince come out to check the irrigation system. They found numerous heads blown or not working and fixed them. The bill was over $200.
A month later, I had a bunch of heads blown and called them back and they did the same thing, including the large bill.
A month later, I had another bunch of heads blown and called them back. They did the same thing as far as "fixing" them and billing me. I complained and they withdrew the third bill.
A month later, the system was still not working properly. I used another company (Murphy) that expanded the system and replaced the heads with a different type but the system kept breaking each month and they also failed to assume responsibility for their work..
I finally used Spearman Irrigation which replaced some heads and got the system working properly and I have not had any problem since other than the usual maintenance issues.
"This is a substandard irrigation system installed by a homeowner. I made a mistake in trying to correct it. As the homeowner stated I retracted my last invoice in an attempt to compromise with the homeowner. I wish he would have given me more opportunity to remedy the conflict rather than post a negative review."
"The facts of this dispute need to be concisely presented as the homeowner's report is inaccurate. The homeowner called and I spoke to him directly. He told me he had a new pool installed and that his system was not working at all. I told him I did not have time to rework his system around his pool but as a favor to him I would send a technician to see if we could get the front yard working again so his entire landscape wouldn't die in the 100 degree heat. The homeowner did not mention a bid to me at all whatsoever. When my technician arrived he found the master valve inoperable so that no water was available to the irrigation system. With on-site approval from the homeowner's wife my technician cut out and replaced the master valve, which made the front yard available for watering. To be fair, at that time the homeowner's wife did ask my technician for a bid on reworking around the pool, which he was not authorized to give. Before giving a bid on reworking the system, I sent the homeowner a bill for replacing the master valve. He called me and stated that he would not pay it because he wanted us to "complete the work" (revamp the system to accommodate his new pool), which I had already told him I did not have time to do. He therefore attempted to force my hand to do his pool revamp by refusing payment on the work completed. I feel very fortunate I had the insight to only get $125 deep with this person rather than $1500 or more."
"Reading negative criticism about a business you put alot of hard work and effort into is never easy; that's why I rarely respond to this type of criticism unless there is a request for action by the customer. However, I must respond to the above report because the statement "They showed up at 12:30 instead of the agreed upon time of 12:00" is patently false. I have never, and will never give an exact time for irrigation repair service. The reason is that I do not know how long any repair is going to take. This is not like spraying for bugs where you have a reasonable idea how much time the service is going to incur. When I get to your house and have your water turned off it is very important to me to get the problem fixed and the water turned back on before moving on to the next repair. Since I do not know how long it's going to take to repair your system, I cannot give the next customer an exact time for arrival. Therefore I can't (and won't) make an appointment for service that has an exact time. This is of course inconvenient to the homeowner but it is an unfortunate reality of this type of work."
