Description of Work: Switched to Verizon because AT&T service was lousy in my area, I kept dropping calls or searching for signal. Since I switched to Verizon I have not had any of those problems and I get great service wherever I go in the Rio Grande Valley. I am very satisfied with the phone I received and the service so far.

 + 0 moreFor four years the Technical Service Department of Verizon Wireless has promised me that Verizon will install a tower in the Laguna Vista, Texas 78578 area "next spring". Everyone whom I have met who has cellular service with Verizon Wireless has virtually no service in Laguna Vista and the South Padre Island Golf Club. I have realized that I cannot trust the information which I have received from the Technical Service of Verizon.
Description of Work: Laguna Vista, Texas, is part of the tourist destination of South Padre Island. I am a real estate agent in this area and depend on my cellular phone service for much of my business. The cellular phone service which I used was taken over by Verizon Wireless about 5 years ago. I immediately noticed that I was having dropped calls, and when I tried to use my cellular phone from my home, there was virtually no service whatsoever. I spoke with the Technical Service of Verizon, and the operator told me that Verizon would send a person to my home to check the service. About a week later I heard from Technical Service of Verizon and was told that there was virtually no wireless service near my home, BUT that Verizon going to put in a tower the following spring....this was four years ago. Each year thereafter I was given the same story from Technical Service of Verizon. This spring (2011) I cancelled my Verizon Contract when I realized that the promise of a tower in our area was not going to happen. I had lost enough business, so I found a cellular service which does quite well in Laguna Vista, Texas 78578. Verizon Wireless has virtually no service in Laguna Vista and the South Padre Island Golf Club Community. They should stop promoting business in this area.
