Henry Felan Painting And Remodeling

Henry Felan was very prompt in providing an estimate and showing up for our first meeting. He was recommended by a man and his wife that had done many jobs for us and we highly respected them. I was impressed with the first meeting as he was so prompt and personable. He provided a reasonable quote and we had a "gentleman's agreement" that he would begin work immediately. (I should have gotten a contract. Big mistake!) The entire experience went downhill from there! He needed an advance in payment to get started as he had not worked in a while. Red flag #1! I went ahead and helped him out with a $1500.00 advance and he did begin the work, but he was very slow and very unreliable. My sister began discussions with him since I live out of town and he continued to not show up when he promised. He always had an excuse for missing appointments or not answering or returning calls- truck broke down, dropped phone in water, lost phone, etc. I will gladly admit that once he got started with the work, he really did do a very good job, but he continued to ask for advances and drag his feet in getting the work done. A job that could have been completed within a couple of weeks dragged on for about 3 months or more! Unfortunately, my sister believed his lies about finishing the work and she paid him in full. He was gone after that and never finished the work which included some electrical work, tile work, and painting. He even took the remainder of the paint that we had paid for! Very unfortunate for us and so disappointing since we trusted him. I would never use him again and I highly advise anyone against trusting this man or hiring him to do any work for you!!
