Smith Painting & Dry Wall

They're very professional.  They are accomodating.  They were always on time and wanted to do a good job.  The owner came out and saw some errors on previous job, he did an entire room for free to make up for it. They're our 'go-to' company for painting.  They seem to be a great fit for us.  They have done our interior and exterior house.  They made suggestions to replace light fixtures to make them look more current.  If they saw any defects in our wood, they would bring that to our attention and replace it.

In 2006, we had our home's exterior painted and repaired by Smith Painting & Drywall. We found Brett to be honest, helpful and a pleasure to work with, so we had no second thought about calling them back for interior work. Jose and Carlos arrived on time each day and worked constantly and efficiently. The prep work was thorough and the painting beautiful. They were respectful of our home, taking good care to work around new fixtures, move items carefully, and schedule work to our home office so not to disrupt business calls. The result was better than we had hoped for and definitely elevates the feel of our home.

I was told by another company that this job would take 5 days. Smith Painting & Drywall did it in 13 hours total. The quality and attention to detail exceeded my wife and I's expectations. Without us even asking, they picked out trim and corner pieces that matched our existing style. Mr's Smith personally came out and did the estimate and after the job was done, did a final walk through to make sure we were happy. It's always nice to see the owner of a company care about the work they put out. The price that was quoted was the price we paid. We are very happy with the way our house looks and will not hesitate to use them again as well as refer them to our friends.

Stripping our "pickled" cabinets was much more difficult than anticipated, but Smith's men came back repeatedly until they,and I, were satisfied............and stuck with the original price quoted, even though it took much longer than they planned on.

My overall experience was very good.  They corrected some little problems.  I had several bids, and the other companies wanted a lot of money up front.  This company didn't want to deal with that until the job was complete and we were satisfied.  They cleaned up after themselves.

Brett arrived on time to go over what needed to be done.  I got the cost estimate via email the next day.  They weren't the cheapest, but they weren't the most expensive either.  I went with them because of their reputation; they are a large, well established contractor, the workers are insured, they require no money up front, their work is guaranteed, they could start right away, and they would send a two-man crew out to work our project from start to finish.
There was a minor hitch in the beginning, due to some miscommunication between Brett and the crew, but Brett cleared it up quickly.  The workmen were prompt each day, worked all day, cleaned up afterwards and seem to take pride in their work.  I was very pleased with the final result.

Enjoyed working with Brett Smith.  His estimates were clear and detailed.  They were able to start and finish the job in a timely manner.

Only glitch in the whole process was that the foreman on the job wasn't doing the quality of work that needed to be done.  That's the only reason I give them a B for professionalism instead of an A.  However, it took only one phone call to Brett and he came out and looked at the areas we weren't happy with and they were redone to our satisfaction.

Overall, I would highly recommend Smith Painting.  As I said, great to work with and quality work.  We will be using them in the future for some interior paint and repairs that we need done.

Overall, this went very well. They met us to prepare an estimate. Provided a detailed, easy to read and understand estimate within 3 days, and were most willing to discuss and answer all our questions.  They came in with a can do attitude and completed the removal of all old flooring, provided a dumpster to remove all old materials, then painted all walls. I had some problems find the amount of tile I needed, and the company providing the tile took longer than expected. This was not a problem once the tile arrrive. They got right to work, work the weekend, and completed the job in record time. We were excited to spend Memorial Day weekend in our newly painted, tiled home, thanks to Smith Drywall!

Jerry Colvin was assigned to my project, and he was FANTASTIC!!! I have absolutely nothing but GREAT things to say about the excellent treatment I received...the attention to detail...the courteous, prompt service every work day.

They started on time with wood replacement first and caulking new wood.  The next day was cleaning and power washing exterior of house, patio, front porch and walkway.  The next day was caulking and misc. repairs.  They had to take a day off due to weather, then were back the next day to start painting.  Finishing up with second coat the following Monday/Tuesday.  Their office was a little slow in providing paperwork, but eventually got it sent.  Overall, very nice job. Will consider this company for future work.

They were very good and everything that they did was good. Our experience with them was great. They did everything that they were supposed to do. The job done by them was excellent.

They were prompt and courteous in providing a detailed estimate for the project. Once we said yes, they gave us adequate notice of the day they would show up to start the planned two day project. At the agreed time, two employees showed up and began working. One, obviously a supervisor as he did very little actual work during the project, left after an hour, leaving one individual working. He then showed up again at the end of the day to assist in a little clean-up work before both left for the day. Both individuals were polite. Project comments: - The job was expected to take two days but actually took three. - The overall quality of the wallpaper removal and new texturing was OK, but areas in the corners and around doors and windows could have been much better. - Most disappointing was the failure to adequately protect floors, doors, woodwork and cabinets during the project. Drywall mud and primer were slopped on all these areas and tracked on floors (thankfully mostly tile) throughout the house - even on the front porch and sidewalk. Every door knob they touched had drywall mud on it. It was a real mess. They did a half-hearted job at cleanup before leaving. I spent hours cleaning and had to get on my hands and knees to scrub the tile floor grout with a stiff brush to get most of it off. I gave them a "D" on quality not because of the work itself (that might be a "B-") but because of the mess they made and failed to clean when the job was done. I would not recommend them again for this type work.

Wonderful service. Really paid attention to detail, even power washing my sidewalks and driveway. House had not been lived in for 2 years so it was in need of TLC. The front door was in horrible shape and now it looks brand new. Couldn't have asked for better service. They were a little more expensive than the other estimates but they presented a very detailed estimate and came across as very professional.

Overall, they did a reasonable job. They were average. They showed up pretty well. They did good work, it wasn't great and wasn't poor. They were reasonable priced. I didn't have any major problems with them and I didn't have anything that said the work was the most incredible. I have used them since for other smaller jobs.

The work went pretty well. They showed up on time, did the work that they said they would and finished the work when they said they would. The cost was $1100 for the painting job and $1800 to stain the fence. They were very responsive. I will probably be using them again.

Brett Smith and Arturo (head of painting crew) were excellent to work with. They called me back promptly, kept all their promised dates, did an outstanding job and cleaned up after themselves. I will absolutely use them again.

This is our second time to hire Smith Painting (they also painted our house's exterior). The painter did an excellent job. The painting team showed up on time each day and kept in contact with us during the job. The job manager talked in person with my husband and I about the job progress and solicited our feedback about any issues we might have. The team was very fast (only took two and a half days), careful about spills and over spray, and very thorough. We only found three small places where we needed touch-ups which they were happy to fix (though we decided to fix the spots ourselves). I would happily recommend Smith Painting to anyone looking for a professional and responsive painting company.

Did a great job with only the weather causing delays. Always on top of the job, seeing that it is done right. $2,000 - $5,000 cheaper than other bids. Would hire again.
