 + -1 moreHe gave me a bid over the phone. I wanted to hire him and asked him if he wanted to come give a firm bid. He said he would come by that day or the next but would call. I didn't hear from him. I sent him a text a few days later but didn't hear from him. I called him a few days later and was told the same - he would be there that afternoon or the next day but he would call. I have not heard from him since.

Description of Work: Kyle construction tiled my shower. The tile is not straight and is uneven. The grout is different colors and a very sloppy job.

Description of Work: FINISH TIME WAS A LITTLE OFF DUE TO WEATHER AND UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES. JOB WENT WELL,BOB KYLE WOULD SEE THAT EVERYTHING WAS DONE AND CLEANED UP. GOOD WORK AND AT A FAIR PRICE.

 + 1 moreAs I have said in previous reviews, I am NOT related to Mr. Kyle, but you would think so by the glowing reviews I give his company. He and his men showed up ON TIME, FULLY PREPARED to do the work, and COMPLETED THE PROJECT ON TIME, and without any hassle. This is SO refreshing it is almost unbelievable. As I write this, I am getting ready to write a very negative review about a landscaper who should NOT be allowed to be in business in Texas or any other state. He was supposed to be here at 9:00 a.m. and when I called him at 9:30 a.m., his text response was, get ready for this..."I'm having breakfast, I'll call you shortly." I would have told him to forget it, but the only reason he was coming to my house is because last October he put down $3,000.00 of sod and about 1/4 of it is like brown hay. I can't even begin to tell you how angry I am with this so-called landscaper. Getting back to Kyle Construction, he is a 'keeper'... I keep his phone number handy for any/all projects large or small. He always has time to work with you.

 + -1 moreAs far as extra work. You would have to know my wife..... She pretty much tortured Bob on a daily basis with small (and some 'not so small') odds and ends that she wanted him to do. Not once did he reject her ideas or say anything about extra cost. When the project(s) were completed and it came time to pay, I warned my wife to expect that there would probably be an additional $1,000.00 added to the original estimate because of all the extras that he did. We sat down at the picnic table where he took out his folder with all the notes and supplies list and began to go over it with us. Well, to our surprise and total delight, when he got to the bottom of the last page he told us the final price. It was exactly what he quoted us. Being a good Christian and an honest person, I questioned him about all the extra stuff my wife had him do. His reply was that '...it wasn't all that much' and that he wouldn't be charging any extra. I can tell you from experience (having had 8 houses over the years all with renovations and repairs) this type of honesty and integrity just does not exist in the home remodeling business up North. (We just recently moved to Boerne from Rhode Island.) Feel free to call me if you'd like any additional information about his work. I still have my Rhode Island based cell phone, 401-808-0175.
Description of Work: This is the second time we have used Kyle Construction and cannot say enough good things about them. Last fall they did about $18,000 worth of work for us and we were EXTREMELY pleased, which is why we didn't even look around for bids this time. Once you find a good, reliable, HONEST contractor, you STAY WITH THEM. Loyalty works both ways. Last year we had a complete remodel of our patio area including the installation of a new walkway around the house to accommodate our golf cart. Right from the start, Bob Kyle demonstrated a 'can-do' attitude and made suggestions about things we never thought of but were very happy that he DID. Throughout the project, Bob showed up at LEAST twice a day to check the progress of the work and to ask us if we were satisfied with the progress. We were VERY impressed with Bob's knowledge, caring, and attention to detail. He even came back at the end of each day to make sure that his workers cleaned up the worksite and left it in the condition that we would feel comfortable of letting friends come over and look at the progress without it looking like a bomb went off.

 + -1 moreBob Kyle Construction was contracted to build a new garage on our property. Bob Kyle started the contract but never finished. When we noticed he had made a mistake on the garage doors, we approached him about fixing the problem. All the mistakes were verified and certified by an architect and licensed structural engineer. He was ahead in the draws for the work, so he kept the money and never came back.. We tried contacting him about correcting the problems and finishing what he had already been paid to do, but he never came back or returned any of the money.
Description of Work: Construct a new detached garage.

 + 1 moreWords alone cannot explain the way the owner makes you feel...like you are the only customer that matters. He doesn't talk down to you or try to con you. He was on site everyday to make sure things were going as planned and to answer any questions and address any concerns we may have. You just don't get that type of service in this day and age. Give him a call, you won't be disappointed.
Description of Work: I can't begin to tell you what they did...so many things. The original project was to shore up a sagging bay window. From the moment the owner (Bob)walked in we were extremely impressed with his "can do" attitude. In a day and age where it seems that "the easiest thing to find is bad service", Bob was a WELCOME CHANGE. His knowledge and energy and desire to please the customer was OUTSTANDING. We had originally contracted with another contractor to do some patio/walkway improvements, but once Bob was here for the window project, we felt so comfortable with him that we ended up having him do our walkway and patio work...and at a LOWER price than the other contractor had quoted. We had also been soliciting bids to have the house repainted, but no one that we called ever called back, let alone come out to give us an estimate. Yes, you guessed it, we had Kyle Construction paint our entire house...and the best part was that as he went around with us he showed us where there was moulding, etc. that was rotted...and he replaced/repaired those places that needed it instead of just painting over them. And at every step of the way, with all projects we had him do, he gave us prices right up front. The best part was that when the day came to settle up with the bill, I had cautioned my wife to not get upset because I had figured that there was approximately $1,000.00 - $1,500.00 worth of extras, add-ons that we had done by him. To our surprise and joy, when all was said and done, he did not charge us a penny more than the original quote. He was not able to do one of the things we wanted (and he showed me in great detail and in terms that I could understand, exactly why what I wanted done, was not feesible.) so he DEDUCTED that from the final invoice.

 + 0 moreI needed the project done very quickly due to delivery of furniture and other concurrent projects. Kyle responded quickly to my request for an estimate, got started right away, and finished on-time and within budget. I am happy with the end results, and I will be calling the company for future projects.
Description of Work: High slope ceiling would not accomodate a preferred chandalier. Kyle constructed a new beam to integrate with the original design to accomodate the new lighting fixture. Perfect fit, it is impossible to tell the new construction from the existing.
