We called Hill Country Fence and Ranch at the beginning of April to ask if someone could come and give us an estimate for the work we wanted to have done. Tyler came out the very next day, a Friday, and by the beginning of the following week we had the estimate. After some thought, we decided to drop an item from the initial proposal to save a little money, got back to him, and he immediately sent a new estimate for our review. In our case, we needed to have a survey done and, once we had this taken care of, we got back in touch with Tyler to let him know we were good to go. We were then added to their schedule and were sent a link that we could use to monitor where we were in the queue. The list was continuously updated as work progressed on the many jobs ahead of us. The work on our project started on July 9 and ran for three days straight. The projected start was for a couple of weeks earlier, but that would have coincided with a trip we had out the country and we wanted to be around during the actual work in case there were any issues that arose. On Day One, a three-man crew with materials and equipment arrived punctually and got immediately to work tearing down the old split-rail and privacy fencing, loading it up for hauling off, beginning to drill the holes for the posts, and getting a start on erecting the new cedar split rail. On Day Two, the crew delivered galvanized steel posts and brackets, plus the cedar pickets for the 6' privacy fence. One crew member began work on installing the privacy fence, while the other two continued installing the split rail. All fence posts, metal and wood, were installed in concrete. On Day Three, work continued on both the privacy fence and split rail until completion. The crew worked extremely hard throughout the project in high heat and humidity and did an excellent job. Several neighbors have already commented on how beautiful the new fencing looks. We will certainly recommend Hill Country Fence and Ranch to anyone we hear of looking to have this type of work done.

I have spend 25 thousands dollars on a ranch fence and a Gate. The Gate never worked one hundred percent as intended. I have been chasing this guys for few months to come back to fix it under their own warranty they offered to me when they sold me on their product and services. I highly do NOT recommend these guys.

Ryan and Tyler (owners) gave us exactly what we envisioned for the fencing around our 3-acre property.  We wanted low maintenance, didn't want to paint the fence every couple of years, wanted to keep the dog in and critters & deer out, wanted an elegant front fence line, and and flexibility for moving around the property with scattered gates.  Ryan and Tyler explained the choices and cost of materials and the maintenance requirements of each.  Before we signed the contract we knew that galvanized fencing and posts were the most expensive option as was the decorative front fence panels with a 20-year guarantee on the powder-coated finish.  The 12-foot powder-coated sliding gate they would build to match the decorative front fence panels would also be costly due to the height and size of the gate.  After we coughed up a lung at the total price, we looked at the cost to paint the fence every couple of years vs going with quality products from the beginning and decided to bite the bullet from the start vs paying to have the fence painted periodically.    The adage you get what you pay for holds true in this case.
The project took about 2 months to complete due to persistent rains, the lead-time on ordering the decorative fence panels, and allowing the concrete for the posts to harden before moving to the next step.  The work crews were professional and worked h****** the project.  Every little detail was attended to - from the type of latches on the various gates to closing up any small gaps where corner posts met to adding additional braces to make the fence strong for the long-haul.  We had initial glitches with the driveway gate operations and Ryan and Tyler were quick to resolve the issues.
Overall, we are extremely happy with Hill Country Fence and Ranch.  The company is run by two very talented young men who know how to get things done.  They take pride in doing quality work.

Outstanding job by a team of professionals. The price was under competitors and every step of the process from the estimate, bid, contract and work was above board and easy to me, the customer. Hill Country Fence and Ranch was also very flexible in accommodating the date and last minute changes I requested. These guys know what they are doing and I will use them again for future ranch fencing.

Ryan was extremely professional over the phone. I emailed I needed 123 of extended fencing with 4x4 treated post and 2x4 no climb wire. I wanted to gates and had the gates on hand. I also needed 100 feet of fencing removed. His quote was originally 4900 dollars but came down to 4100 once I reminded him I had the gates. I got 2 other quotes from people in The area and found he was double the price!

Moral,of the store if you can afford it no problem but if you are on a budget think twice! So the overall D is for pricing alone!

Hill Country Fence and Ranch was very prompt in getting us a bid for the fence work on our property. We talked with Ryan Queck and agreed to a start and finish date, they arrived on time and worked long days and finished the work prior to the estimated completion date. Once the work was completed, they cleaned up the work area and checked the fence work with us to insure that all was to our satisfaction. We would recommend this company to anyone needing fence work as their prices are reasonable, they are professional and courteous, they keep their word and provide very high quality work. It is not often you run across a company who handles their business the way they do.

Ryan and Tyler installed a 6' pipe fence with drive thru gate and two walk thru gates on my 1 acre property. The work was done timely and the finished product looked nice. They had to come back out a few times to fix welds and hinges on gates but that was fine. One of their crews damaged my stucco but they provided a small discount to offset repair. The only complaint I had during install was their crew got paint all over our decorative stone and there were many, many metal pieces I picked up along fence so my pets feet would not be harmed. Overall I was still satisfied with initial quality, price and Ryan/Tyler's professionalism. The problems started to surface about 6-8 weeks after final repair and final payment. I notice sheets of paint peeling off of the top pipe. Beneath the paint was a dirty/rusty pipe. I was told during the installation the pipes would be properly prepped before paint. I did not see what the prep entailed but it appears as though the paint was applied on top of the dirty, greasy, rusty pipe. I contacted Ryan and Tyler three times asking if this "normal" and asking advice. I was also told during installation that the fence would only need to be painted every couple years for maintenance. I never would have used this fence if I had known it would have to be painted two months after installation. I started a satisfied customer but have become increasingly disappointed since. It's too bad. Ryan and Tyler were very nice but for some reason have refused to address my concerns. There are two houses under construction on the acre lots across the street. I'm reluctant to make a recommendation considering the lack of follow-up.

In regard to Company response. Yes indeed their website states no warranty on their pipe fence, but no they did not mention this during process. I would have at least considered the alternatives and made a more informed decision. I probably would have stayed with pipe fence anyway due to cost effectiness but my expectations would have been better managed. Lesson learned. Don't relay on conversations or invoice alone to outline warranty. Check websites too no matter how comfortable you are with a contractor.
Response from Hill Country Fence and Ranch

"Hill County Fence does not offer warranty on paint unless it's powder coated. Due to the unpredictability of weather conditions, contact with yard chemicals or sprinklers and yard edgers it is nearly impossible to determine actual paint longevity. Also, due to the fact that used drill stem pipe is normally coated with countless chemicals during pumping and drilling the sustainability of the pipe surface cannot always be foreseen. This is why no warranty is offered and customers are aware of no warranty."

I submitted an online estimate. They immediately contacted me. I emailed a plat, and they were on the property within a few days. They provided me a great estimate, and started soon after. They completed it quicker than expected, and the fence looks very nice. I really appreciated them being so kind, and doing a great job. Exceeded my expectations. Will use them again.

Never have I been so impressed with a group of young men as I have been with Hill Country Fence and Ranch. Ryan and the rest of the crew were polite, punctual, they came in price-wise under three other bids I had been given. I bought an older home on about 2 acres that is in very neglected condition. I have dogs and needed to make sure they could run and be secure. The guys put up a cedar post ranch fence, which included 4 gates (3 walking, one double driving gate). Not only is it very attractive, as it melts into the nature backdrop, but it is very sturdy too. They use this "stay-tite" fencing that is really superior for strength and stay of shape. The guys showed up when they said they would, they left everything cleaned, they worked hard and got it done on time. They also built me an iron gate that now mans an arched walkway into my courtyard; it really looks great and at $300 I was very happy with it. With all the things I had to worry about in my move, the fencing really brought me peace of mind that my dogs were safe when I let them out into their new freedom.

Note: It has been a year since my fence was put up. I LOVE this fence. Thanks again!!!
