Caliente Hot Water

Called on May 17, 2021 and left voice mail regarding need for water heater replacement. It is May 22, 2021 and they still haven't called back!

Great. Looked at problem. Gave price. Fixed.

They were good. They were very efficient. Did what they were supposed to. The price was reasonable and they are a local business.

My water heater still worked OK, but was 19 years old. I decided to replace it before it failed. I always get 3 estimates and was very disappointed with the first one. They quoted a high price and offered no warranties on anything. I immediately crossed them off. The second one offered a tank warranty but only a 3 year labor warranty and also quoted a high price. Next. I got an estimate from Caliente Hot Water. James came over and went over all the aspects of the installation pointing out the upgrades needed to meet the revised city code. His estimate cost was well below the other two and he offered a 10 year tank warranty and 10 year LABOR WARRANTY which I thought was fantastic. He came that very same afternoon to install the water heater by himself. I watched him the whole time, not because I didn't trust him, but because I'm a DIY guy and I like to watch professionals at work so I can glean better ways of doing things myself. He did a great installation using quality materials (stainless steel pipes rather than copper) and quality fittings. The installation turned out great and I couldn't be happier with the product and the installation. I would recommend this company to everyone. It's a small company that is really special and deserves a lot of business. I don't think they advertise but rely on "word of mouth."

Rick made it very easy to give me a quote since this is a rental house and I wasn't in the state. I sent pictures of the hot water heater that needed to be replaced and he gave me a quote. I rec'd a couple different quotes from others but Rick was very detailed and answered all my questions that first time I asked the questions. Replaced a 40 gallon elect water heater and installed an expansion tank, installed upgraded elect panel for hot water heater, all new piping installed and had an extra rod installed in tank to protect it as well. Even though they were a little pricey I would hire them again, plus I was able to get a parts & labor warranty for 10 years. If you need your hot water heater replaced try Caliente Hot Water. Caliente he was able to send someone the same day I called. They were able to relight the pilot light which turned out to be the only problem. They even waited around to make sure it stayed lit and heated the water. And guess what? There was no charge. Wow. Super nice and very knowledgeable. They will be my first call from now on. Highly recommend. How refreshing to find a company that doesn't try to take advantage of clueless homeowners.

Fantastic work! We had another company out to replace our water heater that wanted to charge $450. I specifically told them I needed the water heater to be up to code, as we will be selling the home shortly. When they arrived, they failed to even drain the water heater before giving up and leaving. I called Caliente Hot Water immediately after and Ryan came within an hour, sized up the entire situation, and explained everything that needed to be done (as it turns out, there were quite a few modifications to bring the new water heater up to code). Ryan was able to immediately start working on it and had it done in a matter of hours. All of this for a mere $180 more than what the other company wanted to simply replace the unit. Truly, Ryan and his company are professionals that I highly recommend!

To begin, my water heater started leaking from the drain valve, then that turned into a slow leak from the inner unit, it was also 12 years old, installed new in 2006, so I pretty much knew I was going to be replacing this rather than fixing it. Also in the interim, San Antonio has upgraded its code requirements, so my unit, would have to be brought up to code as well. I received a prompt text, and call the morning after I submitted my request on Angieslist. I was able to set up an appointment window for later that same day. Ryan arrived on time, and was professional, he quoted me a detailed price. He took the time to explain the replacement process, and quoted me a flat quote which included, installation, all connections, drain pans, elevating the unit if necessary, valves, and upgrades needed to make sure my water heater was code complaint in San Antonio. At the time, I told him I was going to get a few more estimates, he was absolutely professional, and was pretty confident that his quote was a solid fair quote. I was also able to qualify for a few discounts which brought the price down 75.00. I did get four other estimates from angies list service providers, one was almost double, and the other three were pretty close to his quote, but were not a firm quote, and would possibly increase if they had difficulties or problems during installation. In all fairness, all the other companies were also professional, and had good communication. I decided on Caliente Hot water, mainly because Ryan's quote was firm, and the lowest. Also their warranty was the best. I called on Tuesday afternoon (9-11-18) and was scheduled for installation replacement first thing Wednesday morning. (9-12-18) Ryan arrived first thing 8:30am, got to work, and completed the entire process by 10:30am. I was very impressed, he did the entire installation and removal by himself. He was clean, and organized, and answered my questions. After everything was complete, he walked me through the new unit, showing me how to cutoff the water, gas, etc, in case of malfunction/ emergency. . Showed me my paperwork, and went over the warranty details. I will definitely recommend Caliente Hot Water to my friends and family. And will use Angies list more often, because all the service providers were professional, and had good communication. I have included a before and after pic. As you can see my unit required alot of upgrades. I am very satisfied and happy that the quoted price did not change at all. AMAZING! Caliente Hot Water responded lightning fast. I turned to Angie's List at 11PM and Caliente responded via text immediately helping to diagnose the problem. I was scheduled for an appointment first thing the next morning. Caliente arrived on time and solved the problem in minutes. Caliente Hot Water = water heater whisperer!!! Excellent knowledge and service. Do yourself a favor and hire Caliente Hot Water!!!

Ryan worked so quickly to resolve the leakage issue, totally explaining everything that had happened to cause the leak from the rusting expansion tank. He replaced the builder fittings with brass fittings and new expansion tanks. (The house is just over 2 years old--the original builder used low-end parts.) Ryan arrived in less than an hour from when we determined we even had a problem! We are very impressed with the work, quality, price, service, responsiveness, and product. We will definitely be calling Caliente Hot Water in the future for water softening and any other water heater issues we may encounter. We highly recommend this company!

Caliente Hot Water is a outstanding company! From Rick, who worked with us to get quickly scheduled when our water heater started leaking on a Sunday, to Ryan, who did the installation, we couldn't be more pleased. Ryan worked efficiently and steadily, and he worked hard to get the 50 gal into a tight closet. We were impressed that he not only knew what he was doing, but carefully explained the why's and wherefore's as he went along. Caliente uses only quality materials and they are installed with care. Furthermore, we appreciated the courtesy of everyone we spoke to or worked with on this project. Look no further, they are the best!!!!!!

Excellent! Arrived within 20 minutes and drove off 3 hours later. Replaced tank, answered all our questions and drove off 3 hours later and including excellent clean up.

called in the morning at 9:00 am and they said they would be there in the afternoon. Rick came out and assessed and gave me options. They advertise $899 installed and that was the price, no hidden charges. I have two water heaters and i went ahead and replaced both since the other one was 12 years old. Work was completed in about two hours. Job was well done.

At five o'clock on a Friday morning, my husband yelled from the shower, "There's no hot water!"  After a COLD shower he went to the garage and saw that the water heater must have been leaking all night.  I got on Angie's List and read reviews all morning. When I had finally narrowed my list, I started making phone calls to get prices and find out who could come that same day.  Everyone was either booked until Monday or didn't answer the phone.  Caliente Hot Water had the best price, but I only got voicemail.  At last, my call was answered.  Rick said he would be happy to help, but he wouldn't be available until Monday.  He must have heard the desperation in my voice and said he was grocery shopping near by and would come over to take a look.  Wow, was I impressed!  He was at my house within twenty minutes and checked out the situation.  He quickly started working to get things under control so we could flush our toilets and have at least cold water for the weekend.  Did I mention that it was Mother's Day weekend?  Rick graciously told me he would try to work us in at the end of the next day.  Sure enough, he called about twenty minutes later to say his distributor could deliver the water heater in the morning, and he would be able to install it late Saturday afternoon.  What a relief!  
 
Rick showed me kindness and generosity by coming over immediately, even though he had groceries in his car.  Also, he made the extra effort to install the water heater the next day, even though it would be late and the next day would be Mother's Day.  His price was about $500 cheaper than all the others I called or saw advertised!  The $899 price also INCLUDED fees and taxes!  Beware of ads that state a price, but they DON'T include fees to get the water heater to city code.  Thank you so much Rick, for going the extra mile for me.  I was able to have a hot shower on Mother's Day, and spend a beautiful day with my family.  It's caring and thoughtful people like you that make the world a better place.  God bless you.
