Fantastic!! He was able to come out that afternoon, and was right on time. After completing the work, he showed me how to close the damper (it took some muscle!) and explained how to use the outside air input. It's refreshing to find someone so reliable and professional.

Arnold was very professional and thorough. He is an older gentleman who continues to do this because he enjoys it. He was the same age as my visiting father-in-law (a handyman by trade) and the talked quite a bit, sharing hints and pointers, and decrying the lack of professionalism in the upcoming generation of tradesmen.
Arnold laid out blankets all around the fireplace and was meticulous in his cleaning. After he left, there was zero residual soot that we had to clean up. The entire exterior of the hearth was cleaner than when he started. He found all sorts of small problems that he was able to fix as he went through his evaluation. He shows us each problem and explained what they meant and whether or not they must be fixed and the consequences to not fixing them. He was able to show us how the damper was never installed correctly when the fireplace was built in the 1970s. Four visible large air gaps when it is firmly closed. He gave advice on options to fix this and also advised on how not to be ripped off. Based on his evaluation from below, he was guessing that our flue had never been properly cleaned and swept and judging by what he retrieved during the cleaning process, his has been the most thorough cleaning our chimney has ever undergone.
Be forewarned, though, that he will not service your chimney if he considers the job a liability. He is a one man team and does what he does well but does not tackle projects requiring chemical cleaning, etc.
Arnold is a breath of fresh air. An old-time service tech who is professional, thorough, and enjoys providing his services. Unfortunately, he speaks of retiring soon and has no apprentices learning from him.

This season we realized that when we burned a "fake log" it began to smell in the house, even a slight haze became apparent, though no smoke.  After double checking that the flue was open we realized the chimney might need to be cleaned.  (It's not been done in the past 11 years.)  Arnold checked it out, found no problem other than it was fairly dirty, and cleaned it using a machine applied from inside the fireplace.  He seemed quite knowledgable and answered all my questions, even gave me a good tip about keeping the flue closed when not using the fireplace.  We've since burned a log with no problem so that solved our problem.  I would use Arnold again if needed.

Arnold arrived a few minutes early. He is an older gentleman, courtly in his manners. He inspected our fireplace and chimney from the fireplace, and then went onto the roof, removed the chimney cover, inspected the chimney, and swept it out. He declined to attempt to clean out the firebox because of through and through cracks. He discussed thoroughly the problem, and possible solutions, which he was not equipped to provide. He did make suggestions for further repairs. He asked for $40. I paid him $60

Came out to remote location right away on short notice. Inspected chimney from roof as well as inside. He said chimney did not need any service and charged for inspection only. We are very pleased with his thoroughness and professionalism.

Arnold cleaned our chimney and he was knowledgeable and efficient. I was very pleased with the job he did and will use him again next year. He knew a lot about chimneys and was up front that his service was strictly cleaning of the chimney and not repair or a home inspection of a chimney for sale purposes. I felt comfortable he was not looking for things wrong to run up the bill and that he was there to do just what he said; clean the chimney. Very friendly too.

The first time I used him, he replaced some bricks which were missing on the top of my chimney, and then I had a passage flue, and he put an extra flue in. He was quite good and very dependable. I have used him several times. In fact, the first time I used him was years ago when he brought his little six-year-old boy with him. His price was very reasonable. He did an excellent work, let me know ahead of time what it's going to be and showed up on time; the whole ten yards. If somebody is looking for a chimney sweeper, I would recommend to talk to him and tell him what their problem is and let him work at it, and he will tell them what it's going to be and what it's going to cost. He was very professional. He came in, did his job well and explained everything. As a matter of fact, I couldn't be here the last time he came, and he just called me, and I mailed him the check.

I WAS PLEASED WITH THE WORK PERFORMED BY ARNOLD'S CHIMNEY SWEEP. THEY WERE PROMPT, COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY WERE VERY GOOD ABOUT COVERING UP NEARBY FURNITURE AND TABLES TO THE FIREPLACES, TO INSURE THEIR PROTECTION FROM THE ASHES. THEY DID A THOROUGH JOB.
