"You should probably add 4-6 weeks to the expected delivery date if you expect to need the "enclosed" hardware. I received the blinds in the estimated time, but it came without the required hardware. I have made 4 calls (at least) over several weeks, but the hardware is nowhere in site. It is clear that SelectBlinds.com is a marketing company only has outsourced all production and fulfillment to third parties and evidently has a difficult time coordinating these type of customer service issue. Extremely frustrating that my blinds have been sitting in the floor for over a month and all I need is a few screws. Happy to go to Home Depot to get the screws, but SelectBlinds can't even tell me what sizes I need."

"Repair Clinic sent me a water intake valve that had some scuff marks and an unnecessary fixture (which I thought nothing of, assuming it had been removed from a new dishwasher). When the part did not fix my dishwasher's issue, I ordered a circulation pump, which also failed to fix the issue, so I decided to return both parts. Repair Clinic blamed me for the scuff marks and extra fixture, which is unacceptable. They referenced their return policy which states that parts which have been installed cannot be returned, and denied me any form of refund. For all I know, the water intake valve was defective, and I have no recourse. Don't put any stock in the "No-Hassle 365-Day Returns" they proudly tout on their homepage. Instead, expect finger-pointing and uncaring dismissal. You are better off with one of their many competitors."

You can add any type of window to a brick house, so long as the window has proper support. Windows with wider openings and windows in brick walls will need a lintel to support the extra weight above the window frame. A lintel is a support beam that distributes the weight from above evenly around the window.

Picture windows last about 20 to 50 years, depending on the material, your location, and how well you maintain the windows over the years. Materials like vinyl and aluminum may not last as long, while fiberglass can last many years. Wood will last decades if you keep up with maintenance. Homes in areas with harsh weather throughout the year may cause windows to have shorter lifespans.

Bay windows are expensive mostly because their above-average size means higher material costs. Unlike bow windows, most bay windows also include casement windows on either side of a picture window, and the opening mechanisms for casement windows drive up costs. You’ll also pay higher labor costs to install a bay window, as you’ll often need multiple technicians to lift the window into place.

You should avoid abrasive materials when cleaning windows, including scrubbing pads that can scratch the glass and harsh chemical cleaners that have alcohol or ammonia in them, as these can damage window treatments and frame materials. It’s best to use a clean microfiber cloth to clean glass and old black and white newspapers to dry it without leaving streaks.

Vinyl windows should last 15 to 20 years or more, depending on your climate and environment. If your windows face harsh sunlight for long periods of time, the vinyl will break down faster, meaning you’ll have to replace them sooner. A shadier, cooler environment means they can potentially last for much longer.
