Terrible! Terrible! Here's a copy of a letter I mailed
They gave us a high water bill and the pool was green most the time and they never finished servicing the hot tub and they never cleaned the filter. They busted the buster pump and we had to replace it and it was only 2 yrs old.
also they said the pool had a leak and it seems find because the tenants are not complaining. I would never recommend to use ocean quest pools again .

Dear Ocean Quest,
Attn: Aaron,
Sorry for taking so long to reply to you statement but was in the mainland taking care of some business.
I just want to inform you I will be filing a complaint with BBB and Angie list of the poor and horrible service and care you did for us. I am not sure if it just your workers and they pulling the wool over your eyes or just the way your company does business. But I would not recommend Ocean Quest to anyone. Your company did more harm than good to our pool with poor service.
To start with they didn't even finish cleaning the hot tub. I had to call them and complain that the hot tub was still sitting empty .
Then your service workers let the pump run dry and blow out the buster pump.
Then you left the water running knowing that the home was vacant.
We live on a military post in Hawaii and the house ocean quest was servicing is in Texas.
Knowing the Home was vacant . Ocean Quest left the water running and did not tell the management company that was caring for our home.
I received an email saying that they servicer pool and left the water running.
Then it dawned on me that no one was there to turn the water off it was about 9 PM Texas time.
Lucky I have good neighbors was able to call them and have them . Ocean quest service attendant taking the keys in the back gate, so my neighbor's son had a climbed over the fence to turn off the water. The water had flooded over half the front yard and flooded into her backyard .
Also we had the pool service on August 18 in the pool was green before August 26 is telling me they did not put the right chemicals in the pool. I had to contact another company to service the pool. Also a new tenant moved into the home and he's the one that actually cleaned the pool filter in the pool the new full-service company George Barr didn't even charge us.
Due to all these factors do not plan on paying the balance that you say is owned; if anything Ocean quest of us refunds for work not really done and for the cost of the water bill and the new booster pump. We've had no complaints from the tenants about how the pools been running since they took over. If you have any questions though free to call.
Sincerely,
Shirlynn Corbett
They hit a main power line twice(once before they had the lines marked and once after). The second time it pulled my electrical box off the wall so that had to be replaced.(at my cost) My contractor ask them if there needed to be extra ampage added for the pool and they said and quot;it's fine, don't worry about it.and quot; I had to have it upgraded again. Because that caused a delay, other jobs had started and then I was moved to the end of the list.
Still to this day no one has come out to show me how to heat the spa. I'm afraid to call because the last time I did they wanted to charge a service fee. You would think explaining how you work the pool equipment would be included in the price.
That being said, they had to fix the coping after the pool was filled b/c I had asked for a smooth edge. They sanded it down and all the rock, sand, whatever sunk to the bottom. It took several months to get it clean.
At one point, the supervisor on the job, said the contract was a and quot;get out of jail freeand quot; card and there was nothing I could do.
I paid on time. There is no explanation for the lack of consideration, concern, or value of their product that makes a paying customer go through this. I have yet to find a way to right the wrong for the money they made.
"It is true that we hit the power line to the house during excavation. It was our error that the power was not previously marked as it should have been. Had we done the marking, Member would have been responsible for the cost of the electrical reroute prior to the beginning of construction. We knew we had made the error. In an effort to reduce the trauma for the client, we excavated the thench for the route, and put the conduit in the trench. The way the only expense would be the power company actually putting in the wire. There were delays to this installation mostly due to weather. At any rate, the work we performed saved the client about $1,500.00. We also paid for a generator rental during this time, so as not to delay the contractor that was working in the house. This job was built during an extensive remodel of the home. Member did not reside in the house at the time. This is an older home, and it was clear that with the addition of the pool, as well as the other items in the house that the existing electrical service was not going to be adequate. We informed the general contractor that our power requirement was 30 amps. This is the same thing we always tell customers. The pool could not be completed until the final inspection of the remodel was done. Member was given a “pool school” by our service technician, but we would be happy to offer another at no charge. We actually have to this this often on a new pool."
Everything was done without leaving a mess, everything was done when they said it would be, and the follow-through has been exceptional.
One of the reasons we chose OQ was the options they provided...we wanted a pebble-finish and salt water system. The other pool company, a Waco-based one, didn't offer either so our decision was easy.
Slade was great to work with. He kept us informed every step of the way. My husband had just retired and was home during the installation. I think this helped with communication as well. They use mainly their own workers except for the gunite spraying - which requires a specialized, expensive machine, the electrical work and the concrete decking. But Slade worked well with the subs. The yard was pretty well torn up through all this, but we knew this going in and had plans for landscaping to follow. But they cleaned up all their 'mess' and smoothed the dirt before they left on the last day.
