I wouldn't even waste my time calling anyone else about anything to be done on my house.
Legal Eagle uses subcontractors and chooses the best in the business; they treat them well, and their customers get the BEST work.
When they replaced my roof, they sent over a crew of 8 and finished in one (1) day; that included pulling off the old shingles down to the plywood, replacing a few pieces of plywood, installing roof line vents (as opposed to wind turbines), and cleaning up.
I was out of town when they painted the exterior, but the job looks wonderful; i had removed shutters years ago due to sun damage, and we put up new fiberglass shutters; i had always hated the columns on the porch, and they replaced those before painting.
I am very happy with the work i have come to expect from Legal Eagle and have plans to use them for the one more project (driveway and sidewalk replacement) i have currently scheduled.
Rest assured, they're at the top of my "who do i call?" list.
"This is an old review, but I am compelled to respond. We have hundreds of clients who are big fans - see our reviews on Houzz.com, Yelp, and Google for a much more realistic picture of what our clients think of us. This client is an unhappy attorney who knew nothing about construction. I suspect got angry about something near the end and decided to write a lot of stuff that simply is not true. I was quite surprised to read this -- he never mentioned any complaints during the course of the work, and paid us like clockwork. My Project Manager dutifully took over the daily control of the project once work began, but I (the Owner) was on the job a lot more than the owner realized. The owner was not living there and had no idea how often my Project Manager and I were on the job. This was small but technically complex project. At one point there were 6 men carrying a 400 lb beam up the stairs. I was one of them, but the Owner never knew this because he was rarely there. We were hired because we have the experience and know-how to take on a tricky job like this. We fully performed all the work we promised. We used high quality materials and did, in fact, a terrific job for him. It saddens me that he was unable to appreciate that at the time he wrote his review. I would have taken additional steps to try and make him happy, had I known he was mad enough to write his review. Dan Bawden, Owner, Legal Eagle Contractors,Co."
"This is a very old review, and our Project Manager staff has completely changed since 2007. Check our more recent reviews at http://www.HOUZZ.COM/Dan-Bawden, Google and Yelp. This project did take a few months to complete, but nowhere near a year. The owner is forgetting that he and his wife added many items of work as we went along that extended the project timeline significantly. As responsible remodelers, we give our customers a projected duration, but it can run longer if work is added, if work is stopped by the client to take vacations, major holidays, illness or there are delays picking out fixtures ahead of time. I say this not to complain, but just to point out that "life happens" and things beyond our control can make a project take longer than planned. Anyone who has done a remodeling project themselves or who watches HGTV knows that! :-)"
