One of my clients had 25 pieces of jewelry she needed appraised.  After seeing an article about Steve Silver in the paper, I made an appointment with him.  He looked through all the jewelry, took out several pieces that he could tell were costume jewelry, then copied (on a copy machine) all the remaining jewelry.  He gave me a receipt and the pictures of the jewelry (since I had to leave the jewelry with him).  I returned to his office 3 days later to pick up the jewelry, then returned again a week later to get the actual appraisals.  Steve had followed my instructions to do an appraisal for each piece of jewelry on a separate sheet of paper.  He also gave me a copy of each appraisal.  And he cleaned each piece of jewelry.
