Warrantech

As I write this, I have been out of a washer for 55 days and I have spent over $250 in laundromat costs.  I have called Warrantech at least 12 times, including chats with supervisors and managers.  They have done absolutely nothing to move this along and stand behind the warranty that they administer. They clearly have no certification program for the Repair Centers they work with and their process is clearly flawed.  Steer clear of warranties not issued by the manufacturer.  These warranty administrators like Warrantech have no skin in the game.

I contacted them regarding two issues: a clogged toilet as well as my garbage disposal. They did not advise me that my garbage disposal would not be covered under the warranty. I ended up having to pay $70 our of pocket. I feel like they find things to charge you.

Lousy. Avoid. Do not use this company. It is such a saga! Warrantech sent a contractor out and he turned out to be totally incompetent. He came three times with his HS age son (and called him an apprentice - charging by the hour for the kid to do his homework) and could not figure out what was wrong. He started doing some things that were clearly not ok like cutting extension cords and 'hot wiring' our outdoor lights (with the intention of burying the cord later to fix the problem). Disaster. So, with Warrantech's knowledge and approval, we brought in a new electrician (recommended to me but I had never used him). He diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes of being at our home. He spent at least 2 hours on the phone with a staff member from Warrantech, explaining the problems. Warrantech declared they would cover all interior work, but none of the exterior. In the end, they just denied our claim for non-pre-approval which they had given us verbally. AVOID
