"My main crew was on another job and a portion of this job needed to be done by a certain date. I was on site almost the entire time to ensure the quality was up to both the customer's and my standards. They were very easy to work with and had good ideas that we incorporated as the project progressed."
His first appointment was very informative. He brought more pictures of his previous landscaping and suggestions on plants he thought we might be interested in. We discussed in depth what we'd like to do. We also stipulated that the plants needed to be pet and children friendly since we have small grandchildren.
His second appointment was to go over his outline for what work would be done, some minor changes on which plants we would use, schedule and date.
His crew was very professional and courteous. They removed everything from the old beds deep enough to remove roots of unwanted weeds and plants. They planted flowers and plants just as we described how we wanted them positioned. They designed and made a path with flat stones and riverbed rocks that turned out better than anything we imagined!
In the bed next to the workshop, we had told Brian we wanted a stone path from the building to the yard that would support a riding lawnmower. They dug deeper into the ground to place large stones to make a drive path for the lawnmower. It turned out beautiful and works great! We had also told Brian to we wanted that bed to have a Southwestern look and to design it for us. This bed has been our favorite!
We have one bed for flowering plants and shrubs, a bed for herbs, the Southwestern bed, and beds around trees. Brian's recommendations have given us a Spring, Summer, and now Fall full of beautiful flowers, butterflies, and humming birds.
Brian also redirected and corrected sprinklers to ensure the beds were watered correctly. We added some large plant pots in the beds for added color and multiple plant heights. Brian added sprinklers to these pots to ensure those plants were watered correctly as well. He also showed us how to update the sprinklers next to the driveway to prevent breakage in case they were driven over by a vehicle.
Brian will be back within the next few weeks to show us how to prepare the plants for winter.
We have been very pleased with Brian's service and plan to work with him on future projects. We would not hesitate to recommend Brian to family and friends.
"This project was very well defined by the customer. The biggest challenge was tying the 3 areas together but still give them each their own character. We accomplished this by using a few of the same plants in the different beds or blooms of the same color. Also the use of pots in the beds brought them together as well. We were very conscious of the dogs and children. We made sure to avoid anything poisonous and in the Southwest Garden we used Soft Leaf Yuccas and Spineless Prickly Pear cactus."
earlier this month. He called with no
excuses and asked to have a chance to make it right and make us happy. Many apologies were offered. He came out and talked through what he
wanted to do for us by way of company credit and we agreed. At this point we both felt much better
already about his taking this strong interest in how unpleasant our previous
experience had been. He communicated
with me regularly and came over when promised with workers and they knocked out
a lovely little area in a couple of hours, tying into and matching the wall
they previously built. He chose lovely
plants and a couple medium sized boulders.
The sprinklers had to be adjusted to the new landscape bed and he took
care of that. He also fixed the
situation of the soaker hose which had been cemented into the wall. Both
parties are happy. We admire how seriously our experience was
taken and feel comfortable recommending him.
"This is a project with two specific goals. Take care of a drainage issue and install low maintenance plants in two hard to take care of areas. We cam up with a stone wall and spillway that ties into existing stone to channel the water off the drive and preventing erosion. A hardy groundcover was installed in the two areas to provide an easily cared for and attractive solution. Customer input is always important and the client suggested a different plant than the one I had picked for one of the areas. The lot is heavily wooded but they knew that one area receives more sun than it appeared too. I thought it was a better solution for the site and it worked perfectly. We have been back for other projects and have been happy to see that this one has worked as we planned."
"We take a lot of pride in our work. We strive to do what is necessary for the results we and our clients envision. We don't cut corners. It was nice not only to see the customer respond but the builder as well. The fence was an iron fence and gates on the front. The side of the large lot was a black chain link. It looks great but is much more economical than iron for the area it was in."
"In addition to installing our own designs, we work as independent contractors for Landscape Architects and designers. Our standards match up with their standards as well as what the clients expect. We worked closely with both parties on the project. We communicated regularly with the client as well as the Architect and other trades to keep the project running smoothly and on time."
