Arbor Hill Tree & Landscaping

We initially hired them to take down a dying tree in our front yard.  They (Jim Maddox and one other man) were prompt, affordable and did the job very well.  

We then asked about having them do some landscaping in our front flower beds.  They quoted a price we could afford and described (and listed) the plants they would bring, but did not produce a sketch of what the beds would look like.  Because they had done such a good job on the tree removal, we decided to trust them.  When they showed up to do the plantings, they did not have the plants they had said they would bring and had substituted based on their own preference... (i.e. instead of sky pencil hollies, he brought box woods).  The resulting bed did not look as we had hoped, but we thought it was partly our fault for not getting a drawing.  Within a few months, one of the two LARGE holly trees (warrantied) died and we had to wait months to have it removed (after multiple phone calls and neighborhood association notices).  The dead tree was removed leaving a large hole in our front yard and, despite multiple communications, was never replaced!  

They know how to cut down trees, but I would NEVER TRUST THEM TO DO ANY LANDSCAPING!

Jim, the owner of Arbor Hill Tree, and his co-worker Richard, are certified arborists. They are not your average tree guys and you can see it in the quality of work they perform, as well as the information that they will tell you about your yard. Jim and Richard did an AMAZING job, and I highly recommend them. If you can have two certified arborists cut your trees for cheaper than the cost of your average tree guy with a crew of unskilled laborers, why would you ever trust your trees to anyone else? One wrong cut can kill a tree, but with Jim and Richard doing the work, I know my trees are in the best hands available.
