The project started great with them being very attentive and getting to work quickly. They quickly took care of the remaining demolition and started the framing. We ended up having to put on a new roof which was an added cost, but we knew might have to happen. The framing was 95% completed when we chose to put in the windows. This was something Thomas Construction asked us to handle because we were putting commercial storefront glass in and it was something they didn't have experience with. We gladly organized this, but when it came time for them to come back and finish the remainder of the job their availability had changed drastically and they were impossible to get in touch with, not returning calls for a weeks. We finally got them to send out the Elec, HVAC, and plumbing contractors, but when it came time for them to pay them they didn't respond to the subs and began giving us excuses why they weren't paying them. We asked them to pay the subs and get the project back on track.
Response from THOMAS CONSTRUCTION
"We spelled out the things the member wanted done after discussing what he wanted and didn't want, in a contract. As progress moved on several changes were made including cathedral ceilings in the back half of the home which was never discussed verbally or indicated on the blue prints that we received. We completed this work, after receiving the go ahead, promptly due to rain coming the following week. The member did not meet with us to discuss pricing but after receiving the change order he said he would not pay, amounting to $4500. The member wanted more changes but felt he shouldn't have to pay for them."

Mr. Thomas presented his proposal, with detailed explanation of the job to be performed and a list of materials and services that would be required to complete the job. They were on site on the day promised, on time and ready to work. There were no delays or issues with the job whatsoever. In fact, they actually were very helpful in assisting me with a couple of issues that were not even connected to the job in question. Work was performed in a timely manner, and the job was completed on time and within the proposed budget. At the completion of the job, they made sure that they cleaned up all debris and even pressure washed down the drive out front. All I can say is that if I were grading the overall experience on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being bad and 10 being good, "10" would not be enough!

Mervis Thomas is a great general contractor. He has done many projects for me in the past. He did a beautiful job with my ceramic tile in my kitchen. His work is always top notch and is done in a timely fashion. I have allowed him to use my home as a prototype to show new customers I am so sad I let everybody know about him as I now have trouble getting him because he is in high demand in the Atlanta area.

Mr. Thomas did an awesome job. He first went to property to view the area before installing to insure accessibility i.e. backyard, hills. He was excellent in keeping me and the renters informed prior to arriving, which he did in a timely manner. He removed the old door and installed the new one and immediately cleaned the area better than he found it. The door installation was perfect. A perfect fit without scratches which might indicate poor installation workmanship. Extremely professional and up front from money to keeping you informed on the project. Very pleased and would highly recommend him to anyone. GREAT JOB!

This included water filling and laying ceramic tile. He went with me to get the tile and other products to help me get the lowest prices. He installed baseboard, entrance doors, storm doors, ceiling fans. He picked up furniture from places I had bought it from and put it in my house. He did landscaping and put in a porch as well. His integrity was really evident with how he handled the entire job. He educated me along the way on how to maintain my home and prevent mold and buy good products and materials for my home. He also worked with my insurance company. He also did some installation of air ducts as well.
