Horrible! He fooled us by his kind expression and we hired him. After he started we knew we had made a mistake. We paid him and he tried to over bill us we caught the mistake. Before the job was finished he quit showing up we tried to call and he would not answer. Then we realized he had taken all our electrical supplies. We had to get the police involved to get them back. After hiring someone else we now have had our electricity turned on to find out half our house doesn't even work!! Don't hire him!

Update - I was completely fooled. This was a test before hiring him for some big projects. he did fine, on most of it. The problem came when I hired him to do the big projects and he took my money and stopped coming.
Currently working with the county ADA to file criminal charges.

Kenneth and his helpers arrived on time. They got the old vanity out and replaced the floor and sheetrock. However, when they were placing the new top on the vanity, it got cracked (which I understand...things just don't go right sometimes), but apparently when they went to get another vanity top, their measurements were off and the top did not fit, so they had to go out again and get a third top. The new vanity was a bit smaller than the old one, so there was a gap between where the old one was and the new one began. They used a rounded piece of wood to fill in that space, but the way that it was used looked really poor. They were exceptionally sloppy with painting, getting paint onto the white baseboard and leaving it that way. I had to point out to one worker that the door hinges on the vanity were showing on the outside where they shouldn't have been and that the doors were not closing correctly as a result. I did ask Kenneth to come back and make a more professional job of where that rounded piece of wood had been placed and correct the poor paint job (as well as leave the rest of the paint I bought for the job), and he did, and it looks better but just not professional, painting looks better but not great, which now leaves me with the actual finishing up, as I'd rather not call Kenneth back again. I believe Kenneth means well, but this job was just not finished out as it should have been.

He was quick. He used my liquid nails products and kept it. I texted him about it and he never responded. He cut the countertop too short, it was shoved up against the drywall and not level. I told him to forget it. He didn't come back a look at it. He said that there was nothing that he could do and I asked him to come back and he said that he didn't know if he could make it.

From the start of the project (which was supposed to last three days) small problems occurred. The Plumber was given wrong information by the company (Austin Leak Detection Co.) who came earlier to detect the leak in the master bathroom; therefore, causing a delay in finishing the project. The tile was removed and a hole was made in the center of the floor to seek the leak at the indicated spot by the above company. No leak there was found; therefore, a tunnel was made to reach the pipe under the shower and there the leak was found. The original plumber, when the house was originally built, neglected to put a seal gasket around the pipe on the shower floor. This caused the water to go out of the pipe and produced the foundation to raise and cause damaged to the walls and floors. Mr. Hutson filled out the hole he made in the center of my bathroom and proceeded, with the help of a worker, to continue the bathroom project. Unfortunately, his worker was very sloppy and careless person causing more damage to the bathroom that it originally had: he put scratches on the walls and doors, window sill, a hole on the side of the fiberglass wall. So, Mr. Hutson had to come by and repair all the damaged he caused. This worker lay the tile and most of it was done not properly causing the tile to do not adhere to the cement and produced a hollow sound underneath. In other words, the tile was not glued to the cemented area correctly; therefore, this tile had to be taken out and new ones put in causing the tile to lay unevenly and some tiles got cracked in the process. The worked came down with poison ivy and could not come to work. Mr. Hutson brought his two teenage sons to assist him on this project. The 15 yr. old young man is knowledgeable and intelligent to do assist his father. He, on his own, fixed the lavatory and installed a soap dispenser. He also helped with the paint. (I felt that I paid for a licensed plumber not a teenage boy) Mr. Hutson and his children are very nice and polite and willing to do the task at hand. I strongly believe that all the problems came about by the worker hired by Mr. Hutson. After saying all this, ultimately the responsibility was on Mr. Hutson's ability to hire a better worker. There still various repairs needed to be taken care by Mr. Hutson. I discussed he problem with him and he is willing to come by and finish the work. So my review was not the best for this company; the work still need to be finished and it has been more than a month. The total amount paid to Mr. Hutson is $3450.00

They're very professional. We've had storms a couple of times and we've had roofing tiles come off the roof and they come out on the way home at the end of their day. I was very happy with their work. They're very honest and professional.

It did not go well. He started a job and he didn't finish it. This was after he had worked for me for probably 6 months doing smallish things. I have work orders and bids and everything. He put one coat of paint on most of it and left and I didn't see him for months. I kept calling him and there was this excuse and that excuse. One time I called and I was real upset. I'm one of those people who try to make friends. I tried to make friends with him and I met his family. I wanted to give him a benefit of doubt. I called though and I told them how disappointed I was. I was real upset. Within a week three of his children and his wife came over and put a coat of paint on my house and it's still not finished. I wouldn't hire for anything. I've lost all faith in him. I don't trust him. I don't know what his issues were. I don't really want to know what will make somebody behave that way. I think his bid was a little high as well. But that was fault. I didn't check. But at that point I was still trusting that at least the job would get done. He did the HardiPlank part, but it's just not painted.

I've been around construction in my life. Things were not going so well with him. When he showed up he did not have the standard printed invoices that most companies offer.

We asked him to drain our water heater, which is in the attic. He came and showed us that the heating elements at least needed cleaned but getting them new would be better. I am unsure if he bought a new part or put the old one back. Either way, I did not and have not seen a receipt for this or for anything else. When he was in the attic draining the heater, he supposedly used a hose that he had provided to drain it. I never saw him with a hose.

In our garage, we had a practically brand new wet/dry vac that he used without permission. He used it to finish cleaning out the water heater. As I said, he did not ask and then tried to hide the fact that he used it. I requested that he replace it, which he did. I gave him my old vac, and have not seen a receipt for the one he gave me.

Because I am still unpacking from our move into this house, there were a couple of leather coats in our garage. Sludge from the water heater is now on the leather coats, and he has not taken care of that, although he had said that he would.

He claims to be an electrician, but it doesn't appear that he is. After he come over, I called the local trade licensing union, only to be told that he did not have a license registered with them. He claims that he does.

When he started working on our automatic gate, the parts that he used are not new at all and I have no idea where he got them from. I am now concerned about the gate because it appears to just be hanging there and it isn't anywhere near completion. He also rearranged one of the breakers on the side of our house, so now one of the guys from the union is going to come and check to ensure that our house doesn't catch on fire.

My husband went to his place in order to give him a second chance. We went together the day before yesterday and he turned his back on me and wouldn't speak to me.

He has said that he would be here at a certain time, but he has not shown any day this week and a couple last week. One day, when he did show, my husband went out to speak with him and was offered a beverage. It bothers me that one of the beverages offered contained alcohol. I don't like that he had those beverages on my property, whether they drank them or not.

The contract was for extetior prep and paint new stone mailbox level outside a/c pad trim trees away from house, also interior prep and paint new wood floor in kitchen replace all ceramic tile through out house crown molding through out house tire down wall to be replaced with new garage door new window screens and some light roof work. The only thing mr.hutson got done was all of the outside work and about 1/4 of patch and prep work for paint,1/4 of the crown molding work, and finished the new wood floor. The problem with mr.hutson was he was always late showing around 9:30 or 10am and leaveing around 2:00pm most days sometimes calling us with excuses why he could be there that day.when he worked in side the house he never coverd anything with plastic leaveing the living room a total disaster with saw dust and texture on carpet and furniture also the contract stated for mr hutson to remove and hall off wood debris he burned it in our back yard the flames were so high he killed two oak trees that were close by. ive burned some brush before but never like that,i had a professional floor company come in he said it was the worst wood flooring he had ever seen, total of 8 gaps between planks and two areas where when a plank was pressed it would sink about an inch and about an inch in half in another area about inch. we also had an old wheel burrow and a old tractor trailer we told him he could have them when project was complete one day he just took them we call him demanding them back. we payed mr hutson more than 3/4 of the job (total 11,500.00) for only half of the production he did,we are in the process of taking him to court, since then we hired some else an the results are a great improvement.UPDATE Today 4/23/2014 we noticed 2 sections of the house were hutson construction painted the exterior of the house starting to peel this means this paint job will continue to peel all we could do is take photos that we can use in court.

Hutson returned my call the same day, came to my house, gave me a proposal and completed the work the same day. This was a huge improvement over the other electricians I had contracted, only one of whom returned my call. I had been trying to get someone to come out for over a month. My house is in a rural area and the job was relatively small. Hutson and his assistant appeared to be very knowledgeable and gave me less-costly options when applicable. I plan to use Hutson on another project in the next year.

I actually contacted Kenneth on Fri, Jan 10, and we set up an appointment for him to come out the next day (a Saturday), look over what I wanted done and give me an estimate. He and his son Derek were there by the time promised. Both were very personable and professional, and Kenneth offered to begin repairs later on that afternoon, which he did. He came out a couple of times or so during the next week to complete my list. He went beyond what was asked of him in doing a few other things that he saw needed attention at no extra charge. I liked the fact that he was able to do everything on my list (and did everything well), rather than being able to do some things but not others, so it was one-stop shopping. I would have no qualms about using Kenneth's services again.

I love him. He's been here a lot. It's always a good experience. He's available whenever we need him. He's been great about helping this house kinda together. He's very reliable, very personable. He has a great personality. He has attention to detail and has a really good heart. He wants to make sure that's he's doing the job correctly and taking care of the customer.

Ken has been working with us for a few months, bidding out a job to clean up from a previous contractor. He has been awaiting starting until we could get the completion from the other team. Finally giving up, I consulted with Ken to hire him to do the previous contractor punch list. Oh Boy, do I wish I had called Ken first. First, the guy is an extreme professional. He spoke over the phone and was willing to take on the job for a Sunday - there was of course a slight up charge for this, but that is to be expected. He listened to my punch list of actions, and quoted me a price both for completion, and with the upcharge. He was willing to schedule during a non-upcharge day, but due to personal constraints I was willing to pay for the Sunday work.
He set a time, and he arrived punctually. He had brought an assistance, and they immediately went to work. They found additional items during the course of the day, and addressed each of them in stride. Overall, I ended up getting a tremendous amount of work done, both part of the bid and additional add on handyman type of items. (He helped re-install fire alarms that had been replaced, and a few odds and ins, like a shim on a wobbly toilet.
He also reviewed all of the construction, electrical and plumbing work from the other contractors in the home, and gave specific recommendations on remediation and what was done well.
He has a very clear cut informational approach that makes it easy to understand what he is saying. He is very knowledgeable, and willing to take the time to explain in detail what needs to occur and why.
He is bidding on several more projects for me, and I anticipate a long and valuable relationship with this company/contractor in the future. Thanks Ken for the help and looking forward to the next project!

It went very well. He made recommendations on the ceiling lights as I had problems with the existing ones repeatedly burning out. He was able to fix one major crack in the ceiling and patch up several others in the same area. He then painted over the repairs to match my existing multicolored rooms. He was enjoys his work and it shows with how he treats his employees and customers. I will definitely use him in the future for home repairs.

Our electrical power company managed to break the 200amp disconnect circuit breaker, when replacing the meter.
Kenneth came out on short notice, located the problem, acquired the replacement parts after 4pm. He got our power restored
and dealt with the representative from the power company with professionalism and style.

They were very easy to work with and did good work. They showed up on time and usually communicated well with me and my wife. One day they had some equipment issues and were not able to make it. A phone call would have been appreciated. The new portion of the ceiling matches the old pretty well and we really like the new lighting. They cleaned up very well after a very messy job.
