With 18 years in the industry, we are an Exceptionally Qualified, Full service Heating, Venting, Masonry, and Fireplace Service Company. We offer a wide range of services including chimney sweep, vent cleaning, full fireplace/chimney rebuild, tuckpointing, and Foundation work. We can also provide brick, stone, venneer, and tile installation/restoration. With a Certified education from the Chimney Sweep Institute of America, assuring a 98% overall on testing scores, we assure our technicians will give exemplary quality to you and your home. We offer a four part inspection to all pertinent fuel burning appliances within your home (Fireplaces, woodstoves, furnace flues, water heater pipes, and clothes dryer vents ). We check to make sure they are safe for venting such appliances through the house to the outside atmosphere. The venting systems and chimneys of these potential appliances in your home are generally not inspected thoroughly by our Home Inspection Companies too well. We find serious problems with all of these systems in homes daily. We understand the current codes for these appliances, spot the structural defects, alert the homeowner, and give an estimate for the course of action to correct any problem

Not good. Appointment was for 9:45. Relative there called me at 9:18 in a panic because men were already there to work and she did not know what to do. I arrived about 10 minutes later. Thats when I found out chimney could not be cleaned, which I understood after he explained the stove having to be pulled out, etc. . But---I was told I am now responsible for 99.00 charge for an inspection that I did not order and do not need. It is true that it was a detailed inspection, but I have absolutely no use for it... I am in the process of selling the house. The more I thought about it the more upset I have become. I was told I need thousands of dollars worth of work to do repairs before it would be up to code. That may be true, I have no way of knowing for sure. But the sneaky charge for inspection that I did not order makes me now wonder if everything is on the up and up. I'm out $99 now. I guess it was an expensive lesson.

James houston used aggressive bullying techniques to sell his product. Who knows he might do great work, and extra work may have been needed to repair my chimney to his standards. He made me feel small and uncomfortable. He would not take no for an answer and raised his voice and got in my face. I pulled out my phone and text my husband to call me to try to de-escelate the situation. My husband immediately called and then he changed his attitude and left. The person he has working for him watched and did nothing. Would not recommend to anyone.

He came in an inspected my chimney. He said it needed to be cleaned, that the top of the chimney needed another side of concrete added on the cap in order for the chimney to draft properly, and that inside the chimney it needed to be sealed with mortar. He said if I was to start a fire now it could catch the house on fire. He went to work and had it all fixed within a short period of time. I was unable to start a fire last year, but finally tried this year and it work perfectly. I would recommend this company to everyone. The service and follow up was great!

We talked to 3 different companies.  James of The Chimney Specialist was, by far, the best choice for us.  We initially
thought we would need a fireplace insert, James talked to us and helped us understand what we were truly looking for. 
We lived in Texas, we were looking for ambiance more than heat.  With this in mind, James found the most cost
effective way to give us the look we want at a very reasonable price.  He fixed our firebox, installed a new high
efficiency damper and got us a custom fabricated fireplace surround. 
We LOVE our new fireplace and we HIGHLY recommend James and The
Chimney Specialist, LLC for any fireplace repair.
