Mom's AC was totally inoperative and I had called several other service providers in the area trying to get timely service prior to calling Poe Air. Jim arrived within about 30 minutes of my call and diagnosed/fixed the problem within 5 minutes (a blown fuse in the attic unit). He then proceeded to clean the coils on the outside unit. He was very courteous and friendly. Thanks to Jim O'Kean, I now have a happy, cool mom AND a new service company that I intend to use for all our properties.

I am very happy with the replacement of our A/C evaporator (the attic component). We have been a customer of Poe Air for many years. They have done annual spring and fall check-ups on their maintenance plan and they have kept both our upstairs and downstairs units working at their best efficiency. Recently one of the units, installed be another company but still under warranty with Trane, failed. Gary and team identified the problem, worked with Trane on the warranty replacement and got our house cooling back to normal quickly. I highly recommend this company for A/C - heating work.

I purchase a yearly maintenance contract from Poe Air. Whenever I've had a problem in between appointments, they're extraordinarily responsive. Gary and his crew are professional and experienced, and I trust them completely to give me good service at a reasonable price.

I found them through a friend. I didn't want somebody to come and tell me that I needed a new air conditioner. They were trustworthy and they did the work that was needed/not trying to upsell a complete system. The workers were friendly and professional. They were very knowledgeable. The guy that came out was really funny. He came out, he looked at the system and he heard it. The mortar was on it's last leg. He heard it and said, 'Yeah, yeah you are right, it is the mortar that needs to be replaced.' It is a trane unit and he got the part number. He said this is going to cost a little bit more because it is a specific brand.

Gary Poe and his associates have been our HVAC contractor of choice at our current home (where they installed both Trane high efficiency units) for 10 years and at our previous home for as long as I can remember.
Everyone at Poe Air is exceptionally professional, courteous and trustworthy.

Gary and the team at Poe Air provide an annual maintenance plan for me at a cost of $300 per year for the two units I have. They come out twice a year and check the units out, ensuring the AC has proper refrigerant for the summer and the gas heater is in good condition and safe for use.  This last time they made sure the compressors were clean and free of debris so they would work more efficiently. In the past I have had light maintenance performed at relatively low cost.  What I like about the annual maintenance plan is that it is proactive, making sure the system is in good condition, which keeps my heating and cooling costs to a minimum.  They are also on call if needed and are highly responsive.

Joe is actually a wonderful contractor. I used him for regular maintenance as well as service calls. He charged about $125 per unit which is actually quite reasonable considering the area. He is on time and is within budget. He has reasonably costs and does a great job. He will fix the problem and take care of the situation. He is very reliable.

It is 100% A+.  The cost was part of the service agreement and there was a warranty item so there was no charge.  I like their honesty to it right.

He was very prompt and professional. I would use him again in a heart beat. He took his time to look into our issues with our current AC equipment and humidity issue and took the time to explain what he thought might be three different issues that need to be addressed. When he left we felt like we were actually cared about as people, not the case with the first company after spending over 10,000.00 on a complete new AC system.
Very pleased!!

AC wasn't cooling (upstairs unit).  Gary Poe came out - same day - determined it was a capacitor problem.  Changed it and checked freon levels in both upstairs and downstairs units.  Total charge $213.   Great Service and great price - will call Gary out again for all my service work.

Taylor came to our rental house to diagnose an issue where our AC unit was blowing air but it wasn't as cool as it should be. He very quickly diagnosed that the fan on the top of the unit had gone out. He had the part on his truck and was able to replace it quickly. As soon as it was replaced the house cooled immediately. He was very personable and honest. He also tested the freon and cleaned the outside of the unit before he left. Very happy with Poe Air. We will be using them from now on at our rental house and are planning to move over our annual tune-up service on our house to them as well. Poe Air was also recommended to me by our realtor. Highly recommend.

Excellent. The new HVAC's totally changed the home with a reduction in electric usage of over 50% while maintaining a much more comfortable indoor environment. They are so quiet that you do not hear them and the house is consistently even in temperature and air flow. They will be a huge factor for resale as units are the best in the industry. Gary Poe is honest, smart and knows his business. I recommended him for both repairs and especially new installations. If you want it done right call him, he cares. The only thing I could add is I wish I would have made the decision sooner than when my old ones finally failed, because they work so great. Great job Gary. He even added special matts to the unit above the master bedroom to dampen any noise and vibrations, it is so quiet that the only way to know it is on is to look at the XL900 and see if it says COOL ON. I will always use Poe Air. All of his workers are professional and smart. Poe Air may be the best HVAC contractor in Texas, Gary is that good.

Our AC went out so we called several places and left messages as it was after 5:30pm.  Poe Air had been doing some work where my wife works so we also called them and left a message. She said they were very friendly and helpful.  They were the first to return our call within an hour and scheduled an appointment for the next morning.
Taylor arrived and was very friendly.  He immediately found the problem, a bad capacitor on the compressor.  After replacing the capacitor  we saw that the fan on top of the compressor was not working.  It had over heated from running all day in 100+ heat without shutting off.  The fan had been replaced a few years earlier.  But after looking at it Taylor found that the fan was not the correct model for that unit.  It was a much slower RPM than what is required for that compressor.  He confirmed this with the manufacture.  So he installed the correct fan and all was working great.
He also checked out a second AC unit that we had to make sure it was running good and gave me some advice on how to replace the thermostat that was connected to the second unit.  The problem was that the old mercury thermostat was for a heat pump and we did not have a heat pump unit.  So I had been confused on how to replace it because to make the heat work we had to turn on the Emergency  Heat switch or the compressor turned on and it would cool instead of heat.  Now after talking to him I can easily replace it with a new digital thermostat.
Taylor also looked at our registers in the back part of the house where the second AC unit was and suggested we flip them around to blow air the opposite direction because the way they were air was blowing toward the return intake.  I had mentioned that that room does not get very cool after running the AC. So the cool air was not circulating properly as it was just getting sucked back in to the return.
We are very impressed with Taylor and we had a good conversation while he worked.  He was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about what he was doing.  We will call Poe Air next time we have AC issues.

Amazing service. Love this company since meeting Mr. Poe last year when we had another company charge us for "fixing" our HVAC and failing. Gary noticed the other company had installed the wrong size fix. He corrected the error, and then we talked about replacing our whole system. We decided to wait. His honesty was refreshing and we will be life-long customers. When we get a new system, we will get it from him.

Taylor found an existing problem that I had described to three other A/C service companies over the past 5 years.  None of which knew or found the problem. This is a great company with great employees!   I wish there had been a score of A+ because Poe Air and Taylor Cox would have received it.

Gary came by and I told him what was happening. I also told him that another AC tech had been by on 5/18/13 and told me that there was nothing he could do because the compressor had a crack and was leaking gas. Gary recharged the system and changed out a part. We had cooling on Monday afternoon.

Gary came to my home to examine a leak in refrigerant that another company told me I had.  The other company's representative had not conducted himself respectfully in my home, my unit is only 1 1/2 years old, and some of the things the person had told me just didn't seem to add up.  I really wanted some assurance before I spent the kind of money they were asking me to spend.  I was so happy to reach Gary because I had complete confidence in the work that he had done with his previous company and was so very disappointed to lose access to that.  He came in and did a thorough examination of the unit, checked the inside and outside units and thermostat for any additional issues, and concluded that, indeed, all of the refrigerant had leaked through a cracked valve.  He offered to honor my service contracts with my previous provider (his former employer), and quoted me repair and service figures that were 80% lower than what was quoted to me by my previous visitor.
While the service quality and reasonable prices of Gary's service are enough in and of themselves, I think one of the points of great significance is Gary's conduct.  He did not utter a word of criticism of the previous visitor.  He always listens carefully and is very courteous and thorough in his response.  He comes across as totally honest in his dealings.  His employees have spoken very highly of him to me, as well - how much they like working for him.
I am so happy to be back as one of his customers!
