"• I received a call from the client at 7:00 AM, that she needed immediate assistant because there was water leak in the master bathroom and she could not get a hold of her plumber. • I immediately called my plumber and he arrived within 15 minutes. My plumber turned off the water at the main line. • My employees were already in route to the clients job site and I instructed them to begin to dry out and clean up. • I sent out an additional crew with fans and other necessary items needed for the dry out. • I arrived at the job site before 8:00 AM • The water damage was contained to the master bath area, family room on the first floor, and carport ceiling under the family room. • The clients plumber arrived about the same time as I did. • The clients plumber communicated to the owner, myself and my employee “that this was an accident ready to happen, because the hot water line had never been soldered properly.” The plumber showed us how easily it came apart. • My crews worked approx. 2-3 days removing dry wall, carpet, ceramic tile, etc. • My company did not bill the client for any of this work. • The client was distraught and I communicated to her how sorry I felt that she had to go through this and that I was handling the situation as quickly and efficiently as possible. • Blackmoore came to assist with the dry out with their own fans on the second day. Blackmoore’s supervisor instructed me on what additional materials needed to be removed, so it could dry out faster. • Everything was completed and ready for reconstruction, when the client decided that there may be a conflict with her insurance. Client decided to go with another contractor. • The day before the incident, the client stated to my employees that she appreciated how they took care of her home and never had to clean up after them. • I never accused her plumber of drinking on her property. I found two beer caps in her driveway and I am the one that brought it to her attention. I wanted her to be aware that they were not from my crews. Employees are not allowed to smoke or drink on the job sites. I personally do walk through on all of my job sites daily, sometimes twice a day depending on the scope of work. • I did receive a deposit from the client, I sent the client an itemized list of all of the work that been completed on the contract, plus extras she had requested that were not on contract. That amount was over the deposit amount and I did not invoice client for the difference.
