TWOMEY AUTO WORKS

I called quite a few auto body companies about doing repairs to make it a safe car to drive but not spend the money for a perfect repair as defined by the insurance company. I was very surprised that most all the auto body shops would not do that. Until I found Twomey Auto Works. They were very professional and did the work quickly. They even called to see if I still had the old bumper and used parts off of that to say money. The car looks great!!! They even toned down some other existing scratches and cleaned the car inside and out. That was no small task since I use it like a truck and haul a big golden retriever around. The black interior is actually black. They will do any car body work I ever need ! You would be wise to call Twomey!!

I have been going to Twomey for at least 15 years. They have done relatively minor work, such as this job. They have also done major jobs such as replacing whole fenders. Mr Twomey himself is almost always there, and no matter who checks out the car, and he will discuss options. He always includes the least expensive way, He has made calls to locate 2nd hand parts. Everyone I've ever dealt with there has been courteous and helpful and mindful of my convenience as well. Twomey does excellent work, they are honest, they try to do best for the customer--as if they want to abide by "do unto others." No, I'm not a friend or relative of anyone there. I'm just a customer who feels lucky to be able to deal with a business as good as Twomey's is.

Overall a great experience. While the place may not look like much on the outside or inside, the owner and manager are both very professional and honest and they do great work.
The owner Don came out and immediately gave me a quote which undercut several other quotes I'd received by 20%. While it took a day longer than they originally estimated, the job they did fantastic - could never tell anything happened to the car.

I purchased a car that had some damage on the roof. I checked around all over Austin and was getting quotes for around $700.00. I called Don and he told me he could do it in the $400.00 range. He was very pleasant to deal with on the phone and the services were performed in the time frame that he promised. The work was very good quality. The only minor detail was that his workers got the cars interior carpet muddy and there were spots on the leather seats which will need cleaning. But overall very positive experience. Would definitely use again.

I have worked with Don Twomey before.
I called ahead to find the best time to bring my car in.
I was not in a hurry.
It took 10 days to complete the project which is what I expected.
Repaired a half dozen bumps and scratches on a 1972 Mustang, and repainted to match.
They also buffed out the finish for an impressive presentation.

There's always a risk of paint not matching six years later...it's a perfect match. Cost and schedule were perfectly kept. I left the car one morning, and three days later picked it up and paid exactly what he quoted.

BTW, every time I take the '66 somewhere other drivers are in awe of the paint job. Lots of and quot;thumbs upand quot;. Once time at a stop light the driver in front of me got out of his car and ran up to my window to exclaim on how great the car looks.

I went in on what was obviously a very busy day (the place was packed solid with cars) to ask for an estimate. The office seemed comfortable and friendly. The guy who helped me (I am pretty sure his name was Rich -- I wrote it down at the time but have had a busy few days since then so not absolutely certain but a terrifically nice middle-aged guy in the office) came right out to look at my vehicle after taking care of the customer he was talking to (but noted I was there and said he'd get right to me as soon as I came in). He was helpful and professional (and didn't make anything of my stupidity in driving on after a blowout, which I appreciated). I am so grateful and will be sure to go back to Twomey if I should need paint or body work (though I certainly hope that does not happen). Very very impressed!

We called Twomey and they told us to bring the car in anytime, we took the car in a few days later and left it, the insurance company said it'd be a good 18 days to be fixed, Twomey said maybe 2 weeks, after a week and a half we called for status and it was just getting finished up, "Dan" said he'd call back in a few hours and let us know if they would be done that day. I also asked him if they could buff out the side of the car because it had some scratches in it from before, he said he'd look at it. He did call back and buffed out the car for us!... and said it was done; I told him my husband was out of town and I couldn't pick the car up until Monday after he arrived home. Dan said he could deliver the car that afternoon! I was shocked because I have never had someone offer to deliver before! He did deliver the car, he took the check that our auto insurance company mailed us and said we did not have to pay him the $500 deductable, the check was enough! He said if we found anything we didn't like or was not done to our satisfaction to call and he'd fix it. The car looks great; super work, excellent paint matching and work. I will use them for all my auto body repairs! Great customer service!! They made the annoyance of repair work so much easier!

Personal service from the owner (Don). Price was $500 lower than two other quotes. Work was completed in 3-days (he said it could take up to 4-days). Quality OEM parts used for the repair. They noticed that the license plate lights were burned out and replaced them. I would definitely use the shop again.

Don's estimate was less the half the next lowest estimate I received, possibly because his approach was based on straightening the dented area rather than replacing the entire panel and blending the new paint into smaller/fewer surrounding body areas than other shops proposed. However, his results were at least as good as I believe I would have gotten elsewhere. In addition, at no extra charge and without my request his guys touched up numerous small to tiny dings and scratches on other parts of the car. The car looks as good as new.

don twomey owes and runs the body shop. he is a great guy to work with. he is friendly, helpful, and you can tell that he loves his job. he gave me a very low estimate compared to the price the insurance company gave me for my car. although the faded, spotty paint was not from the accident, mr towmey came up with a creative solution to take care of my whole car and make me proud to own it again. and, the work was impeccable. they were able to begin work on my car the next business day. and, the car was finished the day that they said it would be. I really felt as though twomey’s went the extra mile to help me out. don knew that I wanted to keep my older car and agreed to make it look like new again. i am a very happy customer! and, now i know where to go for future work.

Twomey gave me an estimate that was considerably less than other estimates I received, the work was completed for the estimated amount, and the car looked as good as new when it was done. The work was completed 5 days later than the initial time estimate, in part because it appears that the shop did not order a necessary part when I scheduled the repair but instead waited until I dropped the car off, but they paid for a rental car during the delay in order to make it right (thereby working their way up to a "B" on punctuality).

The work is flawless, was done on time, and the costs were substantially lower than other estimates we received.
