TRINITY BUILDERS

Trinity Builders does lovely work. They are expert craftsmen. If I had an unlimited budget I would use them anytime. However, I was clear from the start what my budget was. I allowed for approximately 25% cost increases and ended up about 50% over budget. Each time, increases or savings were discussed they were impatient and reluctant to provide cost numbers. I accepted cheaper substitutions (shingle instead of metal roofing, etc.), to offset an increase in flooring costs (from the manufacturer and partly due to contractor delays in obtaining the flooring) but those cost savings were not quantified. I was not provided with the opportunity to select some materials (decking on porch), paint color was primarily wrong and they did not want to request that their subcontractor repaint (it would be costly for him). In other aspects (hand-made window frames), they did beautiful work and I was very happy with the architect. My final permit check out was never done. Some of my requests were ignored. Overall I was not happy, that the costs were not explained to me pleasantly and appropriately, with opportunities to adjust the scope to contain the costs. If there was a fault on my end, as far as requests or timing, it was not explained to me. Lovely addition, not a pleasure getting it done and the cost per square foot was high with many compromises.

The overall quality was excellent and the value for what we spent was great. The entire project was an easy experience for us - we are frequently out of town so it was important that Trinity was able to manage the project without us being there all of the time. We would love to use them again and refer them often to friends. Trinity Builders treated our home as if it were their own.

We were extremely impressed with the work done by Trinity. They were recommended by friends, so we knew they were capable of good work. The crew was not that large, but they compensated with peak efficiency, completing the task in a single day. The work around the window frames was especially well done, giving the new windows a much tighter seal than the old ones. They did such an excellent job; we have agreed to re-hire them for work on our deck.
