Everything was horrible. We asked for a full refund, and so we are starting over again with someone else. A very painful experience and huge waste of my time dealing with this store. 1. The order was coded incorrectly in the system. The installers did not call us, but rather a call center kept calling us, telling us that our door was in the store for us to pick up. I explained to the callers that we paid for installation. They did nothing to re-direct our order, but rather kept calling us to tell us that if we didn't pick up our door, they were going to send it back! I finally had to call and talk to someone else at The Home Depot, who explained that there is no way to change the way the order is coded in the system. We only got in touch with the installation company after I tracked them down. 2. The 3rd-party installation company was very unprofessional to deal with. A woman called and left a message on my phone simply saying "This is The Home Depot calling, and we need your email address." And to send my email address to
[email protected]. This sounds so sketchy! I again called The Home Depot to report this and verify what the actual next steps were to get an installer scheduled. 3. Each time I tried to call the store to get information about status on my door order, or to clear up these confusing issues, I was re-directed around the store's phone system, told to call back, left listening to the on-hold recording for up to 20 minutes (several times!) and talked to numerous employees who claimed to not know anything and could not help me, including managers. I can count the hours that I spent in frustration dealing with these issues. 4. When I finally had an installer scheduled to deliver and install the door, I scheduled to be home from work on a Wednesday morning. The window for them to come by was between 9am-1pm. I got a call from The Home Depot that morning at 9:30am, letting me know that the wrong door had been ordered, and they were going to have to order a new door. 5. At the end of my rope, I again called The Home Depot, and was again passed around the phone system and put on hold for 15 minutes at a time to try to get a manager to discuss the issue. I called 4 separate times in one day to try to talk to someone. In between my calls, hours passed where no one called me back. I finally got ahold of a manager, asked for a full refund, and tried to explain the terrible customer service I had received the whole time, in hopes that he would offer some resolution to the issues I had experienced. He was rude to me and told me that I would get my refund and that I "wouldn't have to call them anymore." I will never use The Home Depot again for any home services. It isn't worth the frustration and waste of time. The employees are not trained in basic customer service, and no one, not even the manager cares if the level of service is egregious or how it affects their customers.
