and they sorted them all out and reinstalled. They did it very quickly as we requested. They are amazing and very helpful. This was the second time we have taken one of our computers in. My other computer had a virus and was running slow. That was a few months back. My computer has been running great ever since. Thanks to these guys my marriage is saved! LOL.

On both occasions, the original complaint was resolved but the computer had more problems than went it went in, i.e. missing email, strange display). They are really nice folks and I'm sure they're doing their best, but I can't afford the cost or the downtime to keep going back for repairs to problems that didn't exist prior to their work.

It took them 2 more days than expected and cost $80 more for what seems to be less than expert repair work.
Response from THAT COMPUTER STORE
"This customer came in with a list of 6 different problems. He was quoted approximately 3-4 hours of labor @ $60.00, 30% below industry standard. My Tech that has 20+ years of experience, and did a great job, did 2 very thorough scans for Viruses and each one on this size drive took 10+ hours. Customer got system back on Monday after bringing it in late Friday. This is very fast service for our industry. Customer was advised repair would take 1 - 2 days, when he left the PC. We are closed for CHURCH on Sunday so he did get it back in 2 days as promised. His quote was 3 - 4 hours of labor @ $60. ea. We billed him 3.5 hours. I do not understand how we were $80. over when he was billed $210. as quoted. How would we even deduct $80. if we charge $60. per hr.? He was happy when he picked up the repair. And notes above show he was happy with the repair. >))):> Blessings, DAVE DAVIS 512-441-8100"

Took tower in for virus removal, ask to limit work to 2 hrs. (@$40per hour). Dave called to say it would be cheaper to remove the additional viruii by un-installing Windows and then reinstalling it. He stated the current $80 charge would go toward the $!00 charge to do this. I asked him to save Outlook Express...he gave me an estimate of $120-150 total. I do not know how to explain the extra $60-$30; when I asked they just read the above invoice to me.

"I looked up this old invoice. This customer came in with lots of viruses. He requested we limit work to 2 hours. My Tech that has 20+ years of experience, and did a great job, did 2 very thorough scans for Viruses and each one on this size drive took 6+ hours. We called and explained the situation, spend 10+ hours fighting viruses, or reinstall with a backup of needed data, for $100. plus $40. per hour for backup. Very economical for our industry. We try to remove viruses first because we may be able to clean the drive in a couple of hours and save all data and programs. If this fails we then waive the time spent and do a reinstall. We saved data for 3 users and put it back in the original files. We charged only 2 hours for this 3+ hours of labor. How would we even deduct $30 - $60 he says was too much if we charge $40. per hr.? He was happy when he picked up the repair. We just completed our 3rd year at this location. Business is up 65% and we received the BEST of AUSTIN Award from the Austin Chronicle. We pray for all our customers each and every day....... >))):> God is GREAT >))):> WWJD >))):> Christ is KING >))):> Blessings, DAVE DAVIS 512-441-8100"
