DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I spent my life savings with Freddy and his company a years ago. At first I thought they did amazing work but after 2 years I am living in a nightmare. I have been going back and forth with Freddy for a year in regards to my floors dipping in my room addition. As time went on my corners started cracking, baseboards started pulling away and my windows no longer opened. I could take Freddy to small claims court but I figure warning everyone not to use him will be better. I spent about $40,000 with him to have a room addition added to my house and it is literally falling apart. I have another contractor here, one that was highly recommended and am having to spend another $7500 to get the room jacked back up because Freddy didn't use the appropriate posts under my room. He also didn't use the appropriate width wood making my flooring awful and needed to be repaired. Then there was the shower disaster at my house. I had him build two walk-in showers. The first one had a leak in the wall which they had to come back and repair. While they were repairing the leak through the wall they sealed the wall back up and never put my spigit back in leaving me no way to water that side of the yard. The shower that they created upstairs they never finished out the pattern on floor, they left about a foot of plain tile where it should have been decorated. Please, do your research, do not trust Freddy and his team as they do not back the work up. Many friends that I sent him to are saying the same thing. He is a complete rip-off artist that does everything half-*** and doesn't back his work. He will promise you the world and promise everything will get fixed but in the end he never does what he says.

Freddy and the TCS team have done a great job with all our renovations. He closely supervises his crew and makes sure that we have been satisfied ever step of the way! He truly lives up to his promises. My husband and I also did comparison shopping and we have found TCS's rates very fair. We are in the final phases of window replacement and we could not be more pleased with how careful the installers have been. We also have three dogs and TCS workers have been super dog friendly making this whole process so much easier on us. TCS is very customer service oriented and we recommend them highly. It is a pleasure to work with such a dependable contractor.

I hired Freddy from TCS Renovations to install a new floor in my 2 story home. His price seemed almost too cheap. I decided to check him out. He showed me a copy of his license and insurance. Not only was the job done when he said it would be but it exceeded my expatiations. I was amazed at the finished product. I highly recommend him. There is one caution. He is slow to finish the punch work. I had another big job that needed to be done. I decided even though he was not fast at the follow up work I would try him again. I figured out to hold a little off the last payment until the punch work is done. With this said, his prices are low and his work is excellent. I would hire him for any job that I will need in the future.
Description of Work: Freddy added a new floor into my 2nd story home and installed kitchen cabinets. He also painted another house for me and fixed some major plumbing issues.
It was all performed in a timely basis and cost seemed reasonable to me. I would recommend their services any time. As a matter of fact, we just started working on a deck behind the pool and some changes in the laundry room.
Description of Work: We bought our new home in Lake View and even though the home was only 2 years old, it seemed unfinished. We lifted several carpets and installed wooden floors. We moved a door from a bathroom to inside the bedroom it serves, the house has a roofed patio but had no outside kitchen. They installed the gas grill, sink, stainless doors and granite counter and back splash.

The renovation went well. TCS and I signed a contract on what was to be done and they followed the contract, if changes were necessary, TCS consulted me first. I demand punctuality and had no problem with TCS on this issue.
Description of Work: TCS Renovation has renovated two properties. In 2011, they renovated a rental house that was totally gutted and remodeled. After, the renovation the house sold within four weeks. In 2012, TCS remodeled my bathrooms and did other minor home improvements such as internal and exterior painting, new front door, hardwood floors, and a fence.

Having already endured a six month saga with TCS Renovations, I'm not willing to revisit every call and email(I have them all recorded and saved for posterity) but I will share our experience with this company as a cautionary tale. At the end of December 2012, I found TCS Renovations via the Redbeacon(.com) service. I explicitly went through the Redbeacon service because of their (since watered down) guarantee that if things went wrong, they would reimburse for any damages up to a maximum amount of $1000.00 TCS is still advertising the package we signed up for -- $2800 redo of our master bathtub/shower. The old tiles and grout were disintegrating and one of the walls(behind the tiles) looked like it was sagging a bit and needed further bracing(another 2x4). Anyways, Freddy Diaz and crew tore out the old and put up the new in a few days time. They also replaced the tile on our small front porch(indoor tile and grout had apparently been used by the builder!) which took about a day or so. In prep for the job in the bathroom, they taped down floor covering between our front door, through the house, to the bathroom door. Protecting our floor from all that foot traffic and dust. Well, at the end of about a week's worth of work, everything is done -- and we're quite happy with our new and improved tile. Both in the bath and on the porch. I will say that I've marked their work quality as 'Good' here, taking off a point for a couple of things: they don't really clean up after themselves, I spent quite a bit of time cleaning up the caked dust and dirt that was in the bathroom and a lot of dust that had made its way into our bedroom. And secondly, they didn't slope the front porch to the edges for water runoff. I.e., when it rains, some water runs and collects in the center of the porch. Ah well, it rarely rains around here. Anyways, everything was done and they were pretty much packed up and then began pulling up the taped down floor covering... Did I mention our floor is stained concrete? Well, when they pulled up the tape, they also ended up pulling up the finish and stain in many places along the floor. So much so, that you could see what looked like a hopscotch layout on the floor. Clear , crossing lines all the way from our front door to that main bath door. Yes, they used the blue painters tape but apparently using any kind of tape on a stained concrete floor is a big no-no. Something we, nor more importantly, TCS knew. After ho-humming about the damage for a bit, Freddy agreed to repair it by painting our floors. He felt(rightly) there was no way he'd be able to just fix the damaged lines and blend them in so it was his idea to just repaint the floors. At some point in the future -- because this was a busy season and he would have to schedule the use of unpaid labor around their current commitments. We agreed to that plan and to pay for materials(paint, sealer upon his direction). And frankly, that was our mistake. A huge one. Anyone still reading this is no doubt, saying the same. Well, we're easygoing people and we appreciated Freddy's pledge to "make this right". We definitely learned a few lessons from that mistake. Yes, we should have called in professionals at that point and gotten estimates for repair that could be discussed with TCS and Redbeacon. Again, live and learn. Trying to schedule with TCS and Freddy became a real circus and things came to a head in June(yes, six months later). By that time, it had become clear that TCS had really been hoping that we would just go away and that they really didn't want to be bothered. After we became insistent on getting a fixed date for this work to be done, TCS reluctantly agreed. Things had started getting ugly during this time though, including Freddy accusing us of "taking advantage" of him for free labor. After being told by the folks at Home Depot that the kind of paint he'd specified probably wasn't the wisest choice, we finally decided to solicit some expert opinions and the picture we got from all of them(along with the guys at Home Depot and other non-interested professionals) was that we should RUN from any further engagement with TCS. And finally, on the weekend before the Monday they were scheduled to show up, we decided to cancel the whole thing with them. I sent a message that Saturday and left a voicemail on Sunday. I know that someone got the email(those of you that understand pixel/html embedding in emails will understand this) but Freddy decided to show up 40 minutes early on Monday and make a show of how he was there to do the job. He walked through the place, taking pictures and video(which I invited him to do) and left, after I informed him[again] that we were no longer interested in his services, with a remark about already having talked to his lawyer and that they would defend themselves in court. No, I hadn't said anything about lawyers and court this entire time but I suppose it's fair that his assumptions went in that direction. Ahh. What a mess that engagement turned out to be. If you've made it this far, hopefully you can understand when I say there is no way I could recommend TCS to anyone. I apologize if my writeup falls short of being an entirely coherent narrative but please consider yourself fairly warned.
Description of Work: Re-tiled our master bathtub/shower and replaced front porch tiles.
This project started a week after Labor Day in 2011 and was completely finished just before Super Bowl in 2012. Our home is now 35 years old, and we have lived here for almost 33 years. The interior needed to be updated! TCS Renovation gave us the best quote. We used an interior designer to help in drawing up the plans for the custom cabinets and choosing some tile and paint colors. My wife and I personally chose all the tile, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, countertops (granite in kitchen and marble in bathrooms), banister design and final paint colors. TCS began by completely gutting the kitchen, including the old drop-down ceiling and the master bath, and partially gutting the 2nd bathroom (we left the tub in place). The new raised ceiling in the kitchen caused the most headaches because the plumbing from the upstairs 2nd bathroom and the a/c duct work for the kitchen/breakfast area were inside the low ceiling. Pipes had to be rerouted. All the old paneling in the family/breakfast area was removed, along with the wrought iron banister. The popcorn ceiling was also removed except in the bedrooms and formal living and dining rooms. The old tub area in the master bath was turned into a walk-in fully tiled shower with a bench. The cabinetry work was done in Mexico which caused longer than normal delays, but the work is very good. The red oak banister arrived in pieces and TCS had to cut and assemble and stain it. The new closet was created on the second floor where a 2'x3' space was discovered between the bathroom and hallway. City codes required new smoke detectors in all bedrooms, and the electrical box outside had to be completely rebuilt to handle the additional plugs and lights. Freddy Diaz, the owner, was on site daily and made sure everything was done correctly. We are extremely pleased with the work. The total job took longer than initially planned for, but we kept adding things to the scope of work. It was all worth it in the end. I'd hire him in a heartbeat again.
Description of Work: TCS remodeled the kitchen, breakfast area, both bathrooms, family room and banister. They replaced all interior doors and created a new closet. They removed old paneling and painted all walls and trim except in the bedrooms and formal living room.
All their work was substandard. They created a leak under the sink. They ruined my cabinets. They also scratched my refrigerator. They also stained my dishwasher. They also got paint on all my furniture.
Description of Work: They did some painting for me. They also tore down the wrong wall. They put in a wood floor. They used the wrong paint.

The owner, Freddy, is one of the most honest contractors I have dealt with in the past. He kept us informed and made sure everything was done right. He said that if anything happened within two years to call him, and he would come back and fix it. The price was far below the three other estimates we got. The work was absolutely meticulous. I was amazed at what a good job this guy does.
Description of Work: They did a complete gutting and remodeling of the kitchen and bathroom. They worked on a banister, closet, and ceiling.
