When I got the call I knew that the water had to be cleaned up as soon as possible. Part of the difficulty lay in the fact that my friend has hearing and vision disabilities. Communication was possible by printing information from a computer and she would enlarge the print and slowly read it. Her speech was not a problem, so we could understand her.
Our first step was to contact her insurance agent for a list of companies to call. It turns out that the insurance company required that the clean-up and the restoration (new carpet and paint) had to be done by separate companies.
SouthPro was the first company able to respond quickly. So quickly that anything wet...carpets...baseboards...furniture were all out of the house later that same day. Since there was not room in the house for her things, a portable storage unit was set up on the street in front of her house.
The most impressive part of the work they did was not how quickly they responded or how well they did their job, which they did do extremely well. Instead it was that every worker knew what to do, did their job well and was willing to lend a hand whenever and wherever needed, without prompting.
It is a rare company that develops this level of customer service in their employees. It is not just a reflection of the employee, it is also a reflection of how the owners and managers run the company.
