Sit Means Sit has been an absolute game changer for me. I just finished my third week of all day training for my Boxer “Mack”. Mack is a super active energetic Boxer and his manners needed some work. He was a big jumper, growled for attention and listened when he felt it was most convenient for him. The difference has been night and day since I have taken him here. He doesn’t jump anymore, walks right by my side, and has just changed in a such an awesome way while still maintaining his goofy Mack qualities. He absolutely loves Misia and gets super excited when he sees her. Misia has been great as well as the whole staff at a Sit Means Sit. Mack just completed his first group class and is excited to continue. I’ve seen first hand how awesome this place is and I HIGHLY recommend them and couldn’t be happier with them.

Sit Means Sit has been transformative for our dog Benson. He was a rescue and quite a handful with his 90 pound size and super high strung personality. He simply would not listen and was being very destructive around our home when we were gone. There was a point when I thought I was going to have to give him back to the shelter. Instead we turned to Sit Means Sit and now our lives are much more harmonious. We did the extreme day training with Benson twice a week for three weeks and worked with him a ton at home. The Sit Means Sit Trainers helped us communicate with our dog better and build a strong relationship with him. I am so thankful for the experience with Sit Means Sit and was truly shocked at the results even after the first day of training. Sometimes dog owners just need a trainer who can help breakdown communication barriers and keep training fun for the dog. We now have our puppy Obi learning the ways of Sit Means Sit. Everyone at the South Austin location was so great and we have a much deeper bond with out pets as a result of the training process.

Training was done over 2 weeks in house. My dog came home with a very good set of basic skills.

The training went really well. I can now walk our dog with confidence knowing that I have his attention and will not be pulled down.

We had four private lessons with a trainer and three sessions with a group of dogs and their owners. We received "homework" to work on between training sessions. Consistency and repetition is very important. We are now walking our dog in our neighborhood. Constantantly reinforcing what we learned.

It is going great, she is not only getting better with her aggression, but also her basic training has come a long way. As someone who has tried a number of trainers and books with limited success this is the best by far, not even close. The only thing I can say against it is that the programs are more expensive than others I have tried, but you truly get what you pay for with Sit Means Sit

Amazing! Krystal is the best and we are so grateful to have her in ours (and our dog Lola's) life! We got Lola from the shelter and she instantly became very protective of us. Guests were not able to come into our house without Lola barking and becoming aggressive. Krystal has done a wonderful job working with Lola to get her to a place where she follows commands, knows that guests are not coming in our house to harm anyone, and taught us how to work with and manage Lola when she gets anxious. We cannot thank her enough! It is so comforting to know when we go on vacation or out of town for a few days, Lola is getting all the love in the world from Krystal. I would highly recommend Sit Means Sit!

Sit means Sit is awesome! We were having some issues with our puppy who is a boisterous rescue girl. Me and my wife decided we should invest the time and money necessary to nip the bad stuff in the bud, and work on some fun stuff with our pup! I'm so glad we found Sit Means Sit. We had a consolation with Cortnie who became our trainer. She took our little girl Frankie home with her for a week and sent us really cool videos every other day to show the progress.
The difference is amazing. Our pup is happier, more confident and WAY better behaved!!! We still have a lot of work to do with her to keep the training up but that's part of the fun of having a dog! Me, my wife and Francis Bacon (or pup) cannot thank Cortnie and Sit Means Sit Enough!

We adopted a three-year old American Bull Terrier who had very little training and was very distracted.  Walks were almost impossible.

Courtnie walked me through the training program and I was doubtful things could improve so quickly.  I was VERY wrong.  By the first class she was walking well on the leash and had begun to understand "place".

By the third class she was actually placing while the other dogs were playing stick and swimming right in front of her - AND she was enjoying herself.  A crazy-marked improvement.

I would strongly suggest this program to anyone getting a dog.  I only wish we'd done this with the two older dogs when we got them.

"Thank you for taking the time to review us [Member's name removed].! It is sometimes difficult to get reviews on Angie's list (especially for dog training). I know that Cortnie enjoyed working with you and Daisy! Please remember the lifetime support so that you can call or email us the moment you have any questions so we can help you through anything in the future."

Our trainer was Krystal and she is amazing. We dropped our dog Charlie off to work on a ton of problem behaviors such as jumping, playing too rough with our young children, destructive chewing, nuisance barking.. Too many to name. We loved our Vizsla, but couldn't get a solid training foundation, especially with three young children who were always running from him in fear. We did three weeks of board and train and when he joined us back at home the difference was absolutely amazing! He will "place" for very long periods of time (an hour or two at a time), does not jump on us or strangers, isn't chewing destructively or nuisance barking. He walks like a dream, no longer messes in the car and even goes on bike rides with me to expend some of his seemingly endless energy! We love him so much and would recommend Sit Means Sit to any and every dog owner!

In just one week I have seen a dramatic turnaround in their behavior. I went to the trainer with specific problems and she was able to help me work on basic commands as well as the specific problem I was having. I am thrilled with the service and the program.

My dog was/is aggressive towards other dogs, including one of my other dogs. My original goal was to gain some peace within my household -- an obedient and happy dog that gets along with my other dogs, and who ignores the activity that occurs outside of my house. This was accomplished in the first month with the 2 week Board and Train and the two private lessons. My dog is create trained, leash trained, and defers to me within my house, and most of the time outside of the house.
Since my original contact with Sit Means Sit, my goals have been amended to deal with stranger-dog aggression, so I can walk my dog on leash in public. I have been attending 2 group lessons a week. The owners (Troy and Shelly) and indeed all of the trainers (Jacob and Danielle) at Sit Means Sit Austin have gone out of their way to be helpful and patient working with me and my dog to better socialize her. They are responsive to phone calls and emails, and have given me homework, offered home-based training suggestions, and encouraged me when we have regressions. Their support is unwavering and they are committed to seeing us succeed.
My case is a difficult one. Most dogs (and owners) don't require such regular and ongoing care. Sit Means Sit has brought peace to my home. They have also helped me rediscover the joy that comes from my furry family.

"Member, Thank you very much for your review. We have enjoyed working with you and Luna and seeing both of you improve! We are so happy that your goals have changed from just peace inside your home (which was accomplished) to being able to do things with Luna outside the home. I know she can be stressful, but we (and I am sure her) are so happy that she can go on walks with you now. These walks improve every week, and now you are even expanding your goals again to be able to walk your dogs together. Some people will read this and think - dig deal. But they didn't know Luna before and haven't seen the great strides you have made! You are a great owner to invest the time you have in her. Thank you!"
