Riverside Veterinary Clinic

There really are no adequate words to describe how amazing Dr. Meyer is. He has cared for many of our pets---and their humans!---over the years with great skill, compassion, and honesty. After my father's beloved cat Puddy became ill shortly after Dad's passing, Dr. Meyer kept him comfortable and superbly cared for right up until the end. It was a very difficult time for me on many fronts and Doc was so incredibly kind during our weekly visits. Rob and all of the staff are also wonderful. We've moved away from Austin, but my grand dogs remain patients of the clinic.

GREAT AND CARRYING VET. WE HAVE USED DR MEYER FOR 15 YRS AND HE IS THE BEST IN LOVE AND CARRYING OF OUR CATS. WE TRIED ONE VET DURING THIS PERIOD AND HE DARN NEAR KILLED OUT CAT. THE FRONT DESK DO THERE BEST TO WORK A ANIMAL IN DUE TO THE FACT DR MEYER IS VERY BUSY. WE DONT MIND THE WAIT BECAUSE WE KNOW THE CATS WILL COME AWAY MYCH BETTER HEALTH.

17 YRS AGO DR MEYER WAS RECOMENDED AS A VET THAT TRULY LOVES ANIMALS AND DID SPEAK TO US WHEN THE NEED AROSE. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE ON ALL ASPECTS OF CAT WELL BEING. WE TRIED ANOTHER VET ONE TIME BECAUSE OF THE DISTANCE TO DR MEYERS CLINIC WELL THE NEW VET ALMOST KILLED OUR CAT NEEDLESS TO SAY IT WAS A HUGH MISTAKE TO ATTEMPT CHANGING VETS. .

Customer service is a little bit harsh but I admire the doctor who recommends another veterinarian if he cannot administer the treatment, at least he's honest enough to admit that he cannot understand the problem of the pet.

Riverside Veterinary is not located on Riverside. My dog is adopted, and when I first got her, I took her to Riverside for a complete check up. I have been talking her there ever since, for annual shots or problems. Dr. Meyer is a graduate, of Texas Aand M, and went to the University of Texas, Austin for undergraduate school. That means we are rivals! Dr. Meyer is a nice guy, he's about my age, and I'm 68.

It was a good visit.

The vet does like the dogs. He does talk with you and he does not try to get you in and out. He has a reasonable pricing. He is a nice old person. There is a wait time, but not too long.

My dog's hips were hurting and we needed to establish ourselves at a new vet since we just moved. At the time of the appointment, this doctor had an A on Angies List (now a B). I thought the vet was good, gentle, did a well thought out exam and evaluation. Liked the techs and front desk. No problems there. Also, i felt the pricing was right, which can be an issue in veterinary services and medicines. Here is the issue- it is a one vet operation, and i can't always get through on the phone. I do not need to be making multiple calls just to get a prescription refilled or something. Today i called and I could not get an appointment for another week. This is not going to work for me. Love my dog, need better "urgent care" service than that.

My dog had frequent ear and skin infections. I went to Riverside for this and regular checkups. I like the doctor, but was not thrilled with the staff. Also, they are chronically running late. One Saturday I waited for over an hour in a hot car with my dog (because of her skin infection, they wouldn't let her wait inside). Nightmare. My dog has fear and anxiety issues. During that same visit, when we were finally in with the doctor, someone came into the waiting area and was loudly scolding the staff for being heartless in regards to a deceased pet. The vet got so mad he went out and yelled at them. I appreciate his desire to protect and support his staff, but this was extremely upsetting to my very sensitive dog. That was our last time at Riverside. It turns out my dog had allergies. Having never had a dog with allergies, I didn't know that skin infections and ear infections are classic signs of food allergies. My current vet (Dr. Hayes, Mobile Cat and Dog Vet) recommended changing her diet the first time she saw my dog. She no longer has skin or ear infections.

We really liked Riverside. They have excellent communication skills and advice on home treatment for my pet. I appreciated they did not try to oversell me with things my dog did not really need and found them honest and skilled. The price was reasonable as well which is important to me.

Arrived about 15 minutes before the agreed upon appointment time to fill out paperwork since it was my first time visiting this veterinarian. The staff was very friendly, and the paperwork was easily completed. My dog and I had to wait about an hour until we were able to see the doctor, but the wait was very pleasant with lots of other friendly dogs and cats to meet in the mean time. Everyone had wonderful things to say about Dr. Meyer; one of the women waiting with her dog for their appointment said she had been brining her pets to see Dr. Meyer for over 20 years. When my dog and I finally went in to see Dr. Meyer for a check-up, my normally shy dog was immediately comfortable with him. Dr. Meyer did not try to sell any unnecessary shots or exams, as most clinics tend to do. As is obvious from the waiting room full of people that have been coming to the same clinic for years, Dr. Meyer is a veterinarian because he loves animals and wants what is best for them. Wonderful experience!
