I have been taking my Miata to Alan for approx. 10 yrs. When he opened up to American cars, I began taking my Tahoe.
We have done everything from inspections, oil changes, brakes, electric window operating motors to belts and wiper blades.
The service is always good, fairly priced and I always feel confident that the work has been completed as agreed to.

Two days after picking up the car, my wife was driving when the oil light came on and the car abruptly turned off. We immediately called Rising Sun who sent a tow truck to pick up the car. There was significant engine damage as, apparently, there was no oil in the engine.



To my shock, the person (I believe he was the owner) tried to claim that this was somehow our fault - that the engine running out of oil was not related to the work they had just done (which was to fix an oil leak). At first, he tried to charge me for the entire repair (I'm not sure exactly how much - it was a few years ago - but I believe it was about $2,000). After a bunch of arguing, he said he would split the repair cost 50/50. As you can imagine, I was outraged and called the dealer - I considered having the dealer tow the car to their shop and sue Rising Sun. But, at the end of the day, I decided to just pay the 50% and move on. As a member of Angie's List, I am just now putting this out (while it is a few years late, better late than never....).

What you ask them to repair is always what they repair. They don't try to sell you other things and they'll try to fix it the cheapest way possible, so if all you need is a clamp that's all you need and they don't try to sell you a new part.

They installed parts and fixed a problem and now it works beautifully!

Beware, Classic ripoff. I took my car in for a tune up and oil change and I was quoted a price of $514.00 for the job and I agreed to this price. When I arrived to pick up the car after the work was done I was charged $938.00 for the job. When I questioned the price he said that he never quoted me the $500.00 price. I never would have agreed to a tune up for over $900.00 on this vehicle! (A 1999 Subaru that wasn't running that poorly to begin with.)

Work was performed very well and in a timely manner. Will use again for general automotive maintenance needs.

I had Rising Sun check items that the local tire place said I needed to fix, i.e. brakes and replace alternator and battery. As I suspected, they did not feel that they needed to be replaced. However, they did replace shocks and struts and a belt that had been making a noise. When I picked up the car, they had printed out information from Toyota on why the belt and the belt drive also had to be replaced. And, my car drove so much better with new shocks!

They are an excellent company and they know what they are doing. They are always so kind to me and they explain what was wrong with my car and if there is anything that should be done right away. Their prices are not too bad as I have always found them to be the cheaper place to get your car fixed around here.

I have been with them for years. They are very honest and have a very high quality of work. They are very professional and organized and I would definitely use them again in the future. They are a very good company and the crew is very knowledgeable.

I was happy with the work they did. I thought their service was a little expensive. The only thing I really wasn't pleased about was that they got the upholstery dirty on the inside of my car. I didn't think that was very professional.
