These people are either idiots or thieves. My review is strictly based on pool repairs and not pool maintenance. If you don't want to replace the equipment 2 years hiring Patriot, you should consider using someone else. DO NOT TRUST JAMAAR. We have used Patriot Pool and Spa for several repairs and would NEVER consider using them again. There is a clear trend that the work they do is not up to standard and on 2 separate occasions they tried to bill us for work that should have been covered under warranty. They replaced our pool pump in January of 2021 and had to return to fix it less than 18 months later because the brand new pump cracked. Here is that email exchange. Me, "We had our pump replaced in January of 2021 and on the paperwork it mentions a 2 year warranty. Would this not be covered by warranty? I'm curious what the charge of $882.92 would be for. Also, are we sure the entire motor needs to be replaced? Could the issue be something less intensive? " Jamaar. "The charge would be to replace the motor of the pump, but that won’t be needed because it is under warranty, so we will get you set up for a warranty visit." They replaced our Polaris pump in April 2022 and had to do a warranty call for that twice in a year because it kept not working properly. One repair was January of 2023 and the second was June of 2023. The front housing on the Polaris unit cracked. One time I asked them to replace my "pool pump timer" because it had stopped working. Me, "It appears like the timer for my pool pump is no longer working (photo attached). When I look through the visual motor check it does not appear to be moving. The timer for the polaris pump is moving and still working. " The tech who came out replaced my polaris timer instead. When I pointed out that they had switched the wrong unit they tried to bill me for the labor both times. Good thing I had pictures and emails to show them the mistake was on their end. Again, they acted like they did me a favor by making this right and correcting their mistake. When I spoke to the tech on the phone he told me he had not notes from the day and was going off of memory. Now my pool heater stopped working. They replaced this 5 years ago and have worked on it since then. They are saying that it wore down due to bad pool chemistry. The weird thing is we hire a professional pool company to maintain our pool so that seems like it should have the correct chemistry. After all the things that we feel Patriot has done incorrectly over the years it is very hard to trust what they say. Fool me once..... One positive note; Chris W. is a good technician. Customers beware...when working with this company, especially if Jamaar contacts you, I would highly recommend you be skeptical of what he tells you and correspond 100% in writing so you can show them the receipts when they inevitably mess up things.

After a couple of trips out to treat the algae (to no effect), I decided to drain the pool and get to the bottom of the problem (so to speak). After draining the pool, I still couldn't brush anything off. So, I poured some muriatic acid over an area and the problem dissolved away - we had a severe scaling issue. I watched a couple of Youtube videos and acid washed my pool in a couple of hours. Update: The provider contacted me the day after I posted my review to discuss. He understood my concerns and offered a full refund. I received the check two days later. Folks, this is how you do customer service. You address the issue and make it right, pronto! Hopefully, my review was, in the end, beneficial to the provider. Regardless, the integrity and character of the company is now evident by the phone contact and offered solution. I would now heartily recommend them to interested parties. Thanks, guys!

After fighting with algae and retaining chlorine levels for a year, I decided to bring in the big guns. Vic is great. He's worked hard getting my pool and pool equipment dialed in so my pool is looking great every week.

They show up once a week. The cost depends on your chemical pool needs. Anytime I had anything major, they'll identify it and they'll let me know what the problem is. If they can fix it, I'll hire them to do it; if not I would I ask whom they would recommend. I haven't had any issues with them. This is my pool company and I'm actually happy with them. I'm using them right now and I would continue to use them.

Our new home had a pool of which I knew nothing about. I changed the setting from 'filter' to 'rinse' without turning off the pool motor which resulted in the housing for the motor to fracture. I found Patriot Pool and Spa on Angie's list and contacted the owner, Hal. He came out the ASAP and resolved my problem. He has also been available for any questions that I have had since his repair and even informed me that the City of Austin had a rebate program for the type of pool pump motor that he placed.I will use Hal every time I have a pool problem - very professional and kind.Steve

The owner, Hal accomodated our request by adjusting his schedule for our urgent need. He showed up on time and quickly determined the regulator on our gas line coming into the pool/spa heater needed replacing and offered the name of a reliable, licensed repairman, who was equally as responsive. Plan to use this company for future maintenance and repair of our pool/spa equipment!

I spent $387.54 on that work. He would call ahead of time and tell me that the job he was on would take time and reschedule the time. He gave me the number of an electrician to check if I really needed the pump.

He owns the company and does the work. He does show up when he is supposed to and if he has a cancellation, he will call to let us know he can come earlier. Where I buy my pool supplies they were the ones that recommended him.
