Mud Puppies Self Srv Wash

When I first walked into the place to drop my dog off the stench was unbearable. I asked them for a tour and they made me wait until they did something behind the closed doors first. The tour was just a brief walk partially down a hall with them quickly pointing in different directions saying this and that. I was not able to get a good view of the place at all. This made me extremely uneasy with the refusal of an adequate tour. My dog already had social skills, and was well trained, so there shouldn't have been any problems. He is generally a happy, bouncy, exuberant, lovable fella, always ready to give anyone and everyone kisses.
They require the dog be there from 7-9 a.m to 4-7 p.m. for evaluation. But I went and picked him up early, because I had such an uneasy feeling about the place. When I went to pick him up, I wanted to see where they had him, but once again they made me wait quite awhile (I assume they were moving him to a clean room). When they showed me to where he was, they said and quot;See he is in a good areaand quot;. It was probably one of the few clean rooms they had, and because of the wait they probably moved him to that room because I wanted to see. I asked about whether he had gone pee or poop so I would know if he needed to go before we got into the car (as I live way out in the country about 1 hr away). They said probably as they pee on the floor, which explained the horrid stench in the place.
As I was trying to pay, my dog kept trying to get out of the building. At the vets office and his surgeons office he never wants to leave and wants to stay to visit with everyone. Not this time. He couldn't get out of there fast enough. When we got home, he about bust a gut to get out of the vehicle because he was needing to pee and poop. I assume he had been holding it all day, which he was unaccustomed to doing as I always take him out 4 times a day. He also had trouble eating and was coughing a lot, which told me someone had probably hurt his trachea by pulling on him too hard. He is a stout 70 lb mass of muscle. The proper command of heel would have had him following at their side. His behavior was very timid, almost like I had punished him and he was being on his best behavior so he wouldn't be returned. I had to bathe him immediately to get the stench of the place off of him. It permeated into his coat. Finally after a week or so, his throat got better and he was feeling safe again. This is a dog that has had extensive surgery from being hurt by another dog ..... he had both hind legs repaired with plates and 6 screws each.... and after 2 different surgeries he STILL loved going back to see the surgeon and the vet. So seeing him trying to leave the place in the manner he was doing alarmed me.
Would I ever return to the place. No Never. I did call them and told them I wouldn't be returning and to destroy my credit card information they required me to give them with the initial application. They told me they would have to check with their boss regarding that matter. I never heard if they destroyed my credit card information.

Walked in with out an appointment needed. Stacee trimmed my pug's nails, and cleaned his ears and the wrinkles around his nose all in about what felt like 5 minutes. It's a comfortable environment to wait in, even if it is just 5 minutes. They are always friendly and you can tell they love dogs. Have boarded there too (several times), and am never disappointed. They seriously are good, clean and fun!

This works so well for me and the Mud Pup people are always very helpful when I need any help. It is so convenient and easy to do here and a whole lot cheaper than a groomer. I really like going to Mud Puppies!

They have day care and also do boarding. We go there every 3 to 4 weeks. I spend $45 per animal. It is a great service. We don't have to bathe our dogs outside. They are super friendly and very helpful. They are very nice.

We just moved to Austin and our rescue dogs, Bella and Blizzard are not well socialized and Stacee at Mud Puppies did a fantastic job grooming them so we tried their play care services. They understood we have both extremes, Blizzard is overly energetic and Bella is the dog equivalent of an Emo. They introduced Blizzard to some puppies and surprisingly it didn't go well, so they put them both in a private space for a while together, then tried again with both of them in a play area with some quiet, kind dogs. This encounter went great. Both dogs had a good time. They kept us updated on the progress and posted welcome pics on Facebook. Both dogs were happy, clean and healthy when we picked them up. The facility is clean, open and accessible. They give tours, and have glass windows so you can see the dogs interacting. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly--Bella is typically very afraid of strangers and went right to everybody she met there. They screen the dogs with these initial encounters to ensure compatibility and as demonstrated, do a good job with it--we did not see any aggressive dogs or unruly behavior. We highly recommend both their grooming and play date services and are sure their boarding is good as well, (we use in-house sitters). Bella and Blizzard will back in a week when we move to our new home and regularly after that to have play dates after their monthly grooming session. (Also notable: Stacee uses a Dremel on their nails and it's great, with no fraying, or bleeding as we've seen in the past.)
