The spa I previously had used stopped offering all of the services I had liked to have done. I started going to milk + honey day spa after learning of their great reviews. They are very available and you can schedule for appointments by phone or even on their website. It is very easy to schedule an appointment. The facility is very nice and everything there is very and courteous. They have been great!

I am writing this review because Angie's List needs more information about this type of service. We moved to Austin 6 months ago. I have searched around the city for a decent mani/pedi. Without exaggeration, I have been to six nail salons with prices ranging from $12-$30 for a regular manicure. Each visit was worse than the one before. I have never seen such terrible work. I would walk out with jagged nails and poorly applied polish..not to mention the look of the cuticles. They come after your fingernails with those giant rough toenail boards and.....rip/shread goes your nails. One lady actually painted my cuticles. One lady told me that polish without shimmer was too difficult to apply. It was horrifying. In Dallas, almost anyone does a decent manicure, especially TN Nails on Lover's Lane (whom I was very sad to leave behind).
So, though I hesitate to spend more than $30 on a manicure, I was desperate. I called M and H Spa to schedule an appointment same day. A credit card was required to hold the appointment and there was no cancellation possible (within 24 ours of the appointment), I figured this would be an expensive mistake. Wrong.
I was greeted by professional, friendly staff. I took a short tour of the facility before my manicure. My manicurist was Maria. She asked me what I wanted done and I was very specific. I even had my OPI application open on my iPhone so I could show her how I wanted my nails to be shaped. She was not the least bit put off by that. She was very gently with my hands and did not chop away at my cuticles. We chatted intermittently during the process, which is something I rarely do. Maria asked me several times if I was pleased with my nail shape and cuticles. Who does that? She kept reassuring me that I would be happy with my manicure. And I was so very happy. She fixed the messed up shape of several nails and put the most amazing coat of regular polish on that I have ever experienced. It looked like gel. And then it lasted TWO weeks.
went back yesterday for a mani/pedi this time. Maria was not available, and as I wanted a same day appointment I was booked with Belinda. The front office staff assured me that I would be just as happy with Belinda. Oh, my. They were correct. We started with the manicure. She asked me what I wanted and we actually discussed the character and shape of my nails for a couple of minutes. Instead of picking away at my cuticles she gently buffed around each nail. Then shaped them to perfection. Then put a coat of polish on that should be in an OPI advertisement. Seriously, my hands looked like they belong in a magazine. The Mand H pedicure followed. I was given cucumber infused water while my fingernails dried and she worked on my ugly feet. Again, I have never seen my toes look better. My feet are smooth (still ugly). I expect this pedicure will last a month.
The facts that a manicure can last two weeks, and a pedicure last one month makes it worth the expense to get it done right. I actually will spend about the same amount per month on these services and have to go less often than I was doing in the past. Also, I must mention the cleanliness, and obvious sanitation that this spa maintains. You don't have to worry about picking up nail infections here. Clearly the owner takes pride in her business. The spa is moving shortly to a nearby downtown location. I will be going along with them. Fantastic.

This was Formula 1 Weekend in Austin. The streets were closed in much of the downtown area. The M and H Spa downtown is located right in the middle of the fray and literally steps from one of the outdoor stages. We were doubtful that we were going to relax with all the noise going on. Wrong.
Check in was fast and again, very professional. No gum snapping, text messaging front desk help here. We were ushered to the locker room areas and given the usual forms to fill out. A very nice touch: reading glasses on the table for those of us who need them and did not have them handy. The locker room (can only speak for women's) was clean, neat, softly lit and reasonably comfortable. I was provided with a locker, a plush wonderful robe, and slippers. We met up in the lounge area and had a glass of cucumber infused water. Our therapists arrived promptly and led us to a couple's massage room. Instructions were clear, and moments later we were getting the best massage of our lives. Colleen and Beth were our therapists. I have always heard massage therapy as words, but I have never previously experienced actual massage therapy. Colleen worked out knots in my neck and shoulders that had been there for months. I could move my neck completely free of stiffness and discomfort. My sweetheart had the same experience with Beth. She found areas in his back that had been bothering him forever. 90 minutes went by fast, but not without me actually falling asleep for a few minutes. We have had many massages over the years, but nothing like this.
The M and H Spa will be moving soon to a new location in downtown. I am sure it will be spectacular and we will be regulars. This is a spa where you actually get more than you pay for.

I like them a lot. My hairstylist from my previous salon moved here and so I just followed her here. Normally it would have been a $100 for a massage but it was topped because I previously had a massage that I wasn't happy with, so they topped it for me. I usually go there to get my hair done or for pedicures and manicures. They are professional and courteous. The spa has a very clean environment.

I have been to Milk and Honey many times for massages, including deep tissue and pregnancy massages. This most recent visit I had a deep tissue massage by Sarah. I have also had good experiences with Terri, Jo and Paul. She was very attentive to my problem areas, and she had a professional and relaxing manner. The spa itself is very relaxing. They provide robes, hot tea and healthy snacks, and it is nice to linger a bit in the waiting area before and after your massage. My only complaint is that I wish they would provide closer parking (in their own building), as it is not very relaxing to walk through downtown after a massage or pedicure.

The best part about this salon is its cleanliness. They use new filing boards, etc. for each person. They also use formaldehyde-free nail polish which looks just the same as regular polish without the chemicals. I was not impressed with the rest of my experience - the support staff was rude and seemed very unhappy. The nail techs repeatedly talked in front of me about not having enough work and not being happy - this was not relaxing. The chairs are very uncomfortable and I not a big person. The parking is frustrating as well (this problem would be solved if you were living/working downtown). I had been once before and had a similar experience but I thought maybe it was just an off day, turns out that this is just not the place for me.

I've been a partisan of this spa for a few years now and I've always had a great experience. Their services are amazing and the atmosphere of their downtown location is awesome. I even took my entire bridal party there last year! The last time I was in, which was a couple of weeks ago, I took my mom with me for her birthday. We both had money stolen out of our purses while in our lockers! When we went to check out we both noticed cash missing. Yikes! The receptionist was very shocked, as were we all, and said she would have her manager contact us right away. Well, the manager did call me within the hour. She was extremely apologetic and shocked to say the least. The unfortunate part was, she didn't do anything about it other than promise to investigate the matter further. No offer to refund the cash, no offer to even discount my next visit. Now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. The manager made no effort to make sure I was satisfied with the outcome. I love this spa but will most likely not return because of locker security and a lack of customer service. I have spent thousands of dollars at this spa over the last few years. The least they could have done was offer me a discount! Looks like a different day spa will be getting a new partisan.
