It broke twice. We put a lid on it and did not drop it, they finally said we did not drop it. We think between the suction of the hot and cold is what did it. They did not take that, but it is what happened both times. We also purchased a dryer from them. We have had decent response with them. It took some time to get in line with being responsive. They should be more responsive to how the customer thinks.
The manager on duty did not seem to understand that this has been a very poor customer service experience and informed me that Lowe's has two business days after they receive the dishwasher to schedule the installation. Most frustrating is that at every point in this saga, we've had to initiate contact with Lowe's, and without exception no employee has taken ownership or expressed an interest in resolving this to our satisfaction.
The bonus for Lowe's is that we are planning to return to replace the old cheap gas range in the house with a modern slide-in range. We expect the same great service with that purchase.
Days later I got a call from Lowes. He said "stop by and let's discuss". As if it is easy. Because you cannot find these guys at the door desk outside 9-5 work hours. I went there three times, unable to speak anyone. When I eventually found employee A there, he said "your front door is not standard size, so we need to call the factory. They are closed now. Please come back during business hours". Because I cannot take off from work whenever I want, I could not go there for a while. They called again. I asked them "can you please call the factory and talk to them while I'm not there". They said "No. We cannot do that" I asked "why". He says "it will be better if you are here". He said "the factory is open on Saturdays mornings, why don't you come at that time?" So I went there on Saturday. Employee B was there. He looked at the measurements, and said "your front door is standard. Problem is with your back door. Let's call the factory". He calls the factory, nobody picks up, and he leaves a message! He said he'll call me back when they return the call. And this was 5 months ago!
At that point I thought something was fishy. Why is employee A is saying that front door is non-standard while employee B says back door is non-standard? I came home and measured the doors. To my surprise, they are exactly the standard size! Exactly 80x36 and 80x32! Not even 1/16 inch short or long.
So what does this mean? The measurer is so incompetent that he cannot even take simple measures? This is not rocket science! Were they saying that the doors are not standard to rip me off? Why don't they call the factory when I'm not there? I really can't know these answers.
Through the door manufacturer's web site, we we found another (non-Lowes) dealer to do the job. An experienced guy came to take measurements (for free!). And he said all doors were standard. We are getting the exact same front door through this dealer for $120 less! And what about labor? It'll be hard to believe, but Lowes quoted us $1038 for two doors while the other company, which has excellent reviews, is doing it for $584!
I really wonder, how these guys, who cannot even take proper measurement, would install the door. And I wonder if we ordered from Lowes a speacial door with their measurements, how would they "squeeze" the door in to 80x36 opening?
If anybody from Lowes management is reading this, I'm still keeping all the paperwork from Lowes, in case you want to see how incompetent your employees are.
