He did a marvelous job. He came weeks earlier to give us a free estimate. He was punctual, professional, and very knowledgeable. He made suggestions that made everything make sense for safety and convenience. Whenever we may need an electrician in the future, we will definitely hire him again! He completed everything in less than a day.

It went very well, the first bulbs he put in didn't light up the area. He did do some extra research and found the correct light bulbs. He then put those in and it did light up the area and worked correctly.

stinHe stopped by on his way home from another job to help us out - the power went out to some of the out buildings on the property. He figured out quickly the breaker was bad. He rerouted the power to an unused breaker in the box. Everything is working fine. He was prompt and fixed the problem in a timely manner.

Andy was great, nice guy, very professional and honest about the value of doing or not doing some higher cost repairs. Did a great job on an outside light that needed a box dug out if reveal and replaced. I'll be calling Andy for any electrical issues I have in the future.

Work was good - very professional.
Price for GFI outlet seemed high.

He came out in a timely but I feel like he overcharged me and he did not do much. I will probably not use him again. He tightened a little screw on a light fixture. The reason why I called was that in the kitchen the lights would dim at times. He looked at the panel and said that everything was fine. Then he tighten the screw and charged me $200 I felt like I was taken disadvantage of.
Response from Lightning Volts Electric Service
"We have a policy of always informing our customers of the charges involved with any of our services we provide BEFORE we perform the work requested. Only after receiving the customers acceptance do we proceed. The problem in this home is a problem that we see a lot of. It was a loose connection of a live electrical circuit. A dangerous condition that if left unrepaired had a very real potential of causing a housefire. I cannot tell you how many homes we have saved from burning by performing these services for our clients. Most of our customers are very appreciative for our skill, knowledge and professionalism. I wonder if this customer would have been happier if she had hired someone with less experience? That had taken longer to perform those tasks or was not as thorough in diagnosing, repairing and testing the circuit as we are? That took the time to perform additional tasks like servicing the electrical panel by cleaning and tightening every termination and checking for proper voltages and grounding terminations? After being informed of the charge for this service and authorizing us to go forward, why would you complain 3 months later? Note she did not complain about the speed of our arrival or the quality of our work. Just that she didn't want to pay for a repair that she believed (in all of her electrical experience) should have taken longer. We always try to explain the benefit of this type of repair to the customer so that they will understand just how dangerous the condition is and what we have done to remove the danger. Perhaps she did not understand exactly what we did or why it was so important. I would have liked to help her to understand if I had known that she did not. Perhaps she will give us that opportunity one day."

Once I put in my request for service they responded back in 1 day and set up the appointment for repair within less then a week. Very good. Andy came out and discovered that yes I did need my door bell replaced and he had a part in his truck. Didn't have to wait for another service call while he ordered part. He came prepared. He was very friendly, courteous and professional. He did an excellent and fast job and I am extremely happy with this company. I have found an electrician for "life". I will never call anyone else for electrical problems. And you shouldn't either. Give this company a try and you will be glad you did. Everything was excellent.

Andy was fantastic. We needed more power in a rear kitchen, along with a few other electrical upgrades, and Andy came up with a plan that had him crawling around in the attic, all around the outside of the house, over the roof and everywhere in between, but got the job done in a timely, efficient and professional manner at a very reasonable price. I will definitely use them again next time I need electrical help.

I had 2 electric sockets in my bathroom that wouldn't work. I reset the GFI (or whatever it's called) in my kitchen but the sockets still wouldn't work. I called Lightning Volt Electric and they sent out Andy to fix my problem. Andy tested the sockets and confirmed that they were dead. He then went out to the garage and reset the GFI in my garage and the sockets worked. I didn't know that there were two GFIs in my house. I asked Andy what I owed him and he said a handshake. I have his card on my refrigerator and will use Lightning Volts next time I have a problem with anything electrical.

Andy went to Austin home once to give me an estimate and then to make repair. Love the fact that he did not charge for the initial visit to give me an estimate.

Our heater kept blowing a fuse, resulting in some cold nights without heat.
We explained our situation to Andy, texted him a photo of the fuse in question, and he was able to fit us in the next day to replace to fuse.
He was punctual and pleasant. The removed fuse was burnt and melted.
We're grateful that we can depend on our heater working for the next few cold nights.

Called and Andy is booked solid about a week out. Went ahead and scheduled for the following Monday given his Angie's list reputation.
Andy set a time of 11 AM. Called at 11 AM and let me know he was on his way. Arrived around 11:30.
Resolved issue with one set of plugs... Loose neutral. Took about an hour, $180 with Angie's List discount. He only uses a flat rate schedule and this was a Level 1 Diagnostic on his list. Upside, it's a fixed price. Downside, it can be expensive when you have a few different issues to deal with at one time.
He quoted me $45, with discount, to install the surge suppressor that I purchased separately. Had him do it, took about 15-20 minutes.
Was a little leery of the price but went ahead and had him look at a second issue with some plugs not getting power. He worked it for about 30 minutes but ultimately could not find the issue. Probably something buried in walls or cut or something else. It's an old house. Did not charge me for that since he could not resolve.
All in all he was here about 2 hours... So $225 / 2 and you get $112.50 per hour... Not great but I guess not as high as some. Maybe I'm just prejudiced against fixed fee service schedules. :)
Separately, he quoted me something like $350 to do an exterior outlet right near my outside panel. Including box, wire, conduit and labor.

I am truly amazed. He responded immediately, diagnosed the issue and then wouldn't let me pay him for his time and diagnosis. I will definitely use him every time I have an electrical project. He went way above my expectations.

Andy was awesome. I called him because I had two brand new induction cooktops fail within days of their installation. I was suspicious that it was a voltage problem or perhaps a problem with the breaker. Andy was prompt, courteous and on time. He put a voltage meter on the outlet and thoroughly checked to see if it could be a wiring problem, including taking apart the plug to see if it had been wired correctly. Turned out everything looked okay, so I feel reassured that when my third cooktop is installed, at least I know any possible problems are not do to the electrical in the house/kitchen. I asked Andy what the charge would be, and he say there wouldn't be any charge for this. Pretty cool. I then proceeded to have him quote me for a couple of job I have in the house, and he gave me reasonable quotes and seemed very knowledgable about the issues involved. I am definitely using Andy to do the work which he quoted me. I'll update my post to let you know how that went - I expect it to go very well.

I looked up electrical contractors on Angie's List and Lightning Volts was close to my house. I called up Andy and he provided an estimate, honored the Angie's List discount and installed my new electric car charger in the same day. I couldn't be happier! Andy is super nice and trustworthy. If I need electrical work in the future, I'll be contacting Lighting Volts (aka, Andy) right away.
