In my opinion, Lighthouse Solar is among the best, if not the best solar panel installations company in Austin, Texas and I will explain why. When you install a solar panel system it's important you select a supplier with integrity, who will stand behind their product, does what they say, and will do at a reasonable price for the scope provided. Not only that, their aluminum racking system is very attractive, and goes up much more quickly and is lighter than conventional steel uni-strut systems. When I first installed the first phase of my system, I checked around with people who worked in the solar industry whom I respected and Lighthouse Solar was the top candidate to do my solar installation. But unfortunately the artificially induced incentives by our local utility created a huge issue with scheduling and I was unable to get a quotation from Lighthouse due to their tremendous backlog. So instead of waiting, I chose another supplier which I regret due to extremely poor execution, and all the things that make a project the project from h*** in my opinion. But I corrected that when I expanded my system a few months later by awarding the second phase expansion to Lighthouse. In contrast to the first phase of my job taking almost four months of installation time and never sure when the guys would show up or what surprises were in store for me, Lighthouse did my second phase install in one day. I found Lighthouse's crew extremely well trained, very helpful and friendly, anxious to deliver complete satisfaction and employees with good work ethics and attitudes. Stan Pipkin, a principal of Lighthouse Solar is very technically savvy, and every member of his staff, reflects outstanding customer service during installation and after the sale when it's very important. When you are doing a solar install, you want the very best quality because you don't want roof leaks, damage to your electrical system or AC systems, you want people who tell it like it is and never like it isn't, is dependable to be there when they say they will be there, because the supplier you pick is the person you will live with for a long time, given the 20 to 30 year life of a system. In conclusion, I have supervised hundreds of contractors, have worked in the solar industry, and I believe Lighthouse Solar is among those I would rank at the very top.

We've had no trouble with our system and love that they set up a way for us to monitor our electric production and use through the Internet.

Lighthouse solar did and outstanding job assessing our site and installing our solar panels; they also ended up doing some electrical work for us as well. They were extremely knowledgable, careful, and precise. They entire team was friendly and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended.

I have an older house which is admittedly more difficult to work on since I don't have a garage. The work order to do an estimate and installation for the charging station was submitted in August or September of 2012. After a visit for an estimate, I did not hear from them, but I kept in contact with Pecan Street, which is the organization that paid for the charging station. Pecan Street contacted Lighthouse again in December and finally scheduled for an installation during the first week of January.
Here is the timeline of events:
2013/1/2: Installation appointment (8 am). Stayed home to wait for the electrician. 9:30 am and still no one was there. After contacting Pecan Street, the electrician showed up later in the afternoon, saying he was unaware of the appointment. Since he started late, he wasn't able to finish the job. He leaves, but doesn't tell me he's leaving, or the status, when he would return, or any estimates.
2013/1/3: I hoped that the electrician would return, but he did not.
2013/1/4: Called Lighthouse Solar, asked to have the electrician call back. Never received a return call.
2013/1/7: Spoke with Pecan Street. Made a new appointment to finish the job on 1/9.
2013/1/9: It rained that day. No one showed up, and no one called me to let me know or to reschedule. I called Lighthouse back and they explained that since it was an outdoor installation, they couldn't do anything in the rain. So I rescheduled for Thursday (1/10).
2013/1/10: I called back on Thursday to confirm the appointment and make sure the electrician would show up to finish the job. When I came home from work, nothing was done. No one had showed up and no one notified me of anything.
2013/1/11: I e-mailed Pecan Street. Somehow they were able to get them to finally show up and finish the work on Friday.
When I asked the lady at Lighthouse why the electrician never showed up and never notified me, she responded with, "I don't know. But he's very busy, and he's a really good electrician." I don't doubt that, but that's not an excuse for not showing up for scheduled appointments, and not communicating with me on progress. I spent countless hours on calls, e-mails, and adjusting my busy work schedule only for them to miss appointment after appointment.

I thought that they did a great job. They listened to my requests and they tried to accommodate all of them. I give them all A's for their service.
