He is professional and quite personable, with a lovely disposition.
He understands the record-keeping of older homes in Nassau County NY, which is good, since our historic home has an inaccurate original construction date on file.
Larry took lots of photos as part of his appraisal process, and asked questions as needed.
He took less than the normal 30 minutes he suggested it would take, yet he was very thorough.
His fee was in keeping with others he has supplied to Angies List customers, as I gleaned from other reviews.
Because of the July 4th long weekend, Larry offered to have our appraisal to us by Saturday the 6th, but since we aren't in a rush on this, we told him to just get it to us next week.
He asked if we would accept a soft-copy of the appraisal emailed to us as a PDF document, and that works wonderfully for us.
For those needing a hard-copy and even once with an embossed seal of his company, Larry can provide that.
We'd highly recommend Larry Ellis to anyone requiring appraisals.
Do try to be there so you are clear what is will be a part of the appraisal. I say this because I sold a home before and had an appraisal and inspection done and I felt like I did not get the full benefit of the experience. So suffice to say be involved for this process.
Do make sure you understand everything that will go into the Appraisal; the appraisal will not necessarily cover the items that a home inspection will cover. You will need to get an Home Inspection to cover the items that are not up to code and or liveable standard.
Don't try to add "what you think" the value ought to be, it is what it is, and that's why you must do a Home Inspection.
He was clear concise and to the point, I highly recommend them.
