I've been using Key Sprinkler since I bought my house. They installed the original system for me, and have done every repair since. Their prices are always fair and their workmanship is excellent. They have always been on time, which is a rare thing these days, and are always courteous and helpful. I have heard that they only service systems that they install themselves, so that may be a concern, but check just to be sure that's the case.

They were great.  Quick, friendly, and gave a full run down of how to use the sprinkler system controls.  Would recommend them highly!

Intelligent design, efficient, helpful

I was pleased/relieved that one of the workers spoke English fairly well.  (Shamefully, after 34 years in Austin TX, my Spanish is still pathetically poor.)
They did a good job on the sprinkler system per se but the sod removal/replacement was poor.  Even after 1.5 months of regular watering, their "furrows" are still quite apparent.

So far, everything has been great. Their work is very well done and they have been careful working in our yard. They took care to make sure the sod wasn't damaged.

The only problem I had was when they  cut my cable line; however, I found it after the fact that the cable company had not properly labeled the location.  (Can't say its the sprinkler companies fault) All in all - I was very pleased.

Everyone was professional and very helpful. Very happy with their work. I would absolutely recommend this company!

We have been Key Sprinkler customers for years (2 complete installations and general maintenance through the years.  This particular service was like all the others - Top notch!  Prompt scheduling; on time arrival; quality service with attention to detail.  The individual performing the work completed the repair we requested and then evaluated our system's overall performance making minor changes to optimize coverage/reliability.

Install started early, and things went well.  They were finished up that day.  Have used Key before, and like their work and help when needed.  Simple, like it should be.

No problems.  Showed up on time, completed the work as promised.  Came back the next day to go over the system operation and answer any questions.

Overall a great experience! Joe (owner) was our main contact that came and provided the estimate. Joe wasn't in a rush and really took the time to explain his thoughts on how to get the best coverage. He also provided some insight into how they run from the primary/city line and get that around the house and into the back yard. They use a larger diameter water line (better pressure and volume) but that takes more expensive pressure reducers. It was about a 5-6 week delay from signing the contract and the start - but they started exactly when they estimated. The actual install took 2 days. What I really appreciate is that they hand dig out the grass where the water lines go and then put the grass back after. It's been about a month since they completed the work and you can't tell where they trenches for the water lines. On the 3rd day the install supervisor came back and replaced probably 25% of the heads as he fine tuned the coverage. This was the second sprinkler system I've had installed (second house) so I intentionally waited about 5 weeks before posting my review because I wanted some time for the system to run so I could better understand the final product. I'm extremely happy!

Overall a great experience. All dealings with Key Sprinkler were great from start to finish. They provided a very thorough bid and took the time to explain the work, provided me cost and water saving options, and were not pushy at all. I received a total of three bids and they came in at the middle. They showed up on time to complete the work and all the workers were very nice. They trench it all by hand.... yes - all by hand. In my opinion, this is the preferred method as it causes is less damage. My yard was full of obstacles to include a pool, patio, numerous beds, rock pathways, pool fence, privacy fence, etc. They completed the job in one day while I was out of town, and once I returned four days later, called them and said I would get a check in the mail ASAP. The fact that I was out of town didn't phase them a bit. They happily returned a few days later to make a few adjustments for me. And get this --- they noticed a handful of sprinkler heads in the front yard that needed replacement and much to my delight, replaced those for me at no charge. The front yard was not even in the scope of the original project. All I can say is "wow"! Customer service was awesome throughout the entire process. Give them a try - you won't regret it!

It worked out very well. They divided the front and back yard into 9 zones. They put a controller in our garage to where the sprinkler comes on in the middle of the night for each section. You can either manually or automatically use the sprinkler system as it is completely programmable. They have been in business for a long time in the area. Joe took over the company from his father who started the business.  After he provided the estimate, he received approval from our home owners association and the city. He even provided our home owners association with the detailed designs of the sprinkler system plan upon their request. They came out and trenched the yard, put in all the pipes and sprinklers all on the first day. On the second day, they finished the job and programed the system. When they dug up the yard, they did it in such a way to where it was able to be put right back in its place so that the grass didn’t die. They did a very good job. Our neighbors even hired them after they saw the completion of our yard.

They did a very good job. They explained everything very well. It was a small lot and they were able to do the job quickly. Their price was very fair, and our system has a 3 year warranty on it.

We had really positive experiences with Key Sprinkler Co. After receiving my request for a quote, the owner of the company scheduled an appointment with me to review the project and provide a quote. The quote he submitted was very competitive with those I had received from other irrigation companies. Once I accepted the bid, the project was scheduled for the next week, and the work was done in a single day. Our yard was left in very good condition. The following day, a representative of the company came to my home to explain the irrigation system controller and answer any question I might have. Fast, efficient, friendly, and competitively priced ... I would definitely recommend these guys

I had met with Joe a couple of times and got quotes from other vendors, some more and some less, but Key could get to me the soonest so I went with them based on that and the good reviews here.
Installation manger arrived early on the morning of the install and marked out where to put things with flags.   His crew showed up shortly after and got to work right away.   Everything was done exactly as they said it would be done, sod was cut and replaced, workers were quiet and efficient, and got the job done in one day.   Manager came back the next morning to check on everything and go over the programming of the controller.
A few months later I got a nasty huge water bill and found a leak at the main valve, shut it off and immediately called Key.   They had a repair person here the next day to fix it, no charge of course.

They were are 3rd company to give an estimate.  They priced their estimate almost a 1/3 cheaper than the others.  They used Hunter products which is a quality company.  They used 1 1/4 lines to feed the valves so there will be plenty of water to the heads.  We did talk a rather long time with Mr.Key to get to know their company and to get watering as desired.  I work on irrigation systems for my employer so I knew what they were installing and observed them as much as I desired.  I am confident their work was of the highest quality and after several months have had no problems.    It was a single day install.  Some of the work was dug by hand when ever they were near any of the lines in the yard.  During the  time period after,  the rain gauge has prevented watering most of the time due to the weekly rains.  Not complaining about the rains at all.  But the system works as desired.

Note: They do not work on other companies work.  So they are not a repair company.  They do repair their own work.  The City broke  a line in one of the zones of my mother-in-laws system that they installed.  They made repairs to it for free. 

So they gave very high quality service with quality materials and a price much cheaper than their competitors. They delivered the service as agreed in time period and method.  No complaints.

The work performed went without a hitch. The back, front and side of my property has a state of the art irrigation system that covers all areas as requested. The employees especially foreman Jim, were extremely professional, knowledgeable and  courteous. Upon completion of the job, I requested that rocks be picked up along the way and disposed of.  The crew upon completion left the property spotless as if it had never been touched before.

I was recommended by a friend who had a system installed as Key Sprinkler works by word of mouth with very little if any advertising. The estimate was reasonable and the assurance that Joe and company would do a good job made me a believer.

So I am saying that if anyone who reads this summary is needing an irrigation system installed, look no further than Key Sprinkler. Joe and company are reasonable, professional, courteous and do a more than what you would expect them to do. You will not go wrong.

I contacted 2 sprinkler companies and both responded and came out.  Joe Key was the second to give me an estimate.  Both estimates were exactly the same and I liked both contractors but Joe spent the time discussing the project and I was impressed that he could do the job without boring under my driveway.  Further he answered my questions about a future drip irrigation project for my wife's potted plants and offered to stub in an extra station for that future project for free.

We had to wait several weeks for scheduling but Joe was up front about the time and we agreed to the scheduled date.  A week before schedule, Joe called and said they were running a day late and I had no problem with that.

Work was done in one day. Their superintendent, Big Jim, came out the next day to teach me how to operate the system.

A couple items need to be looked at and I called, left a message, and they scheduled late this week to come out.

My only suggestion to Key Sprinkler and ANY OTHER sprinkler company is that they should use a plate compactor to compact the grass when they cover the the sprinkler system as hand compacting leaves the trenches uneven.  Further the excavation project turned up many rocks and some of them ended up in my grass and were not picked up.

The job went pretty well. They did the work in a couple of days. It looked like they were very knowledgeable in the business. I thought they were competent. We had some other estimates, and their price was good. So far, the system is working well. Originally, they showed us the locations of the sprinkler heads. There were slight changes made when they actually installed them. They said they would send me a copy of the plans, but they haven't yet. They showed up when they said they would be here. As far as I could tell, they knew what they were doing.
