Bought Jetta from Kenny Hill.  Within a week, lifters tapping, fuel sensor not working.  KH said timing chain needed replacing. Mechanics damaged radiator (5" crack) while repairing timing, also did not reconnect dash wiring after engine repair.  Initially did not take responsibility for damage, ultimately did replace/repair radiator.. Repaired at least 3 times within a month.  KH said not required to replace fuel sensor, as purchase was 'as is.' Approx. overall costs:  3800 for purchase, 3500+/- for repairs within 1st month.  Currently (6 months after purchase) timing chain problems again...loud tapping, increasing with time.  KH said did not want to see us/vehicle return to his business ever again.
In the 70's, Kenny Hill was a reliable and ethical business.  I took many VW's to him in those days.  Kenny Hill no longer stands behind his repairs, over-charges customers, and allows unprofessional and improper repairs to be conducted.

I have used Kenny for routine service and maintenance over the past 3 years. Generally the quality is quite good. They are thorough, almost too thorough. You have to question every service or they will run up the bill. Last service I had poor acceleration and took the car in. They diagnosed a airflow meter. Picked it up after hours and there was no difference. They gave me full credit and fixed the problem the next day (solenoid valve). I would have rather they did not have me pick it up. It seemed pretty obvious that the problem was not solved the first go around. Overall I trust Kenny Hill's to do good quality work. My only real complaint is that they can be rather expensive and will tend to go a bit overboard on repairs. I have questioned a few of their calls and saved a lot of money. If cost is not a big deal and you want everything fixed right away if there is the slightest problem, then I do recommend Kenny Hill's.

He worked on my BMW for 6 years, and then I bought a 2000 Beetle that he works on after the warranty ran out. This guy is very honest and he does whatever he can to save you money. I have rarely gone over 2 days without a car. He is really good at standing by his word though his overhead is a little high. I highly recommend his service and will use him again.
