Working with Julie was a communications nightmare. She made important decisions without ever talking me. She could not keep details straight, even when they were in writing. She actually made my renovation MORE difficult. Julie absolutely does not demonstrate the requisite attention to detail that this job requires. Her behavior and actions created a number of difficulties and an incredible amount of frustration. Making mistakes from time to time is human. But Julie never apologized for any of her mistakes, and at times, wouldn't even acknowledge them (despite documented evidence). I found her reaction to her errors completely unprofessional. I have never in my life had any difficulty working with a service provider--so I was wholly unprepared for how terrible this could be. Hiring Julie was the biggest mistake of my entire renovation. The only thing she did that I appreciated was agree to terminate the relationship early and provide a partial reimbursement of my fee. In hindsight, it was not sufficient to compensate me for the problems she created.

It was the worst experience I have ever encountered. Julie (owner) never accompanied the installer during the installation of any of the shades, nor did she bother to come once the installation was complete. It was only when I returned to the house to see how awful things looked did Julie come out to see what the problem was. The first shade was installed in the wrong bedroom and I had to bring it to Julie's attention. Not a big deal, would be easily moved to the correct room when the other shades were to be installed. When that day came, the other shades were installed and none of the shades had been measured correctly resulting in 2-3" gaps on either side of the shade, allowing plenty of light to come in, not laying flush within the window, and defeating the entire purpose of the shades. In the dining room, the shades were actually a good 2" too short, again a mismeasurement on someone's part! It took several weeks before Julie could make it to my house to even address the situation. When she finally showed up she claimed that this is how these shades are and that nothing could be done, but she did offer to bring the manufacturer's rep out who "as a favor, agreed to refund my money on all the shades" except the ones in one bedroom saying that "gap" is within industry standard. Are you kidding me? I didn't care about any industry standard at that point, all I knew was that they looked awful and totally unacceptable in my mind. Over the last two months, I have had several other decorators out to my house since this entire fiasco began and each one of them has said those shades were made with material not intended to be used as a shade and these other decorators without a doubt would've refunded my money right there on the spot. Here it is two months later and I am still asking for my money back on those two roman shades, valued at over $1,000. There is no quality control and no one checking anyone's work as far as the people Julie has working for her. If you like that kind of end result then you'll be perfectly satisfied with Julie. Otherwise, I think there are plenty of truly competent interior decorators in the area and you won't have to go through what I've just been through!

Julie is wonderful to work with and she has exclusive relationship with her contractor and crew, which means you have a single person to go to for resolving all punch lists or issues.

Great! Working within a specific budget, Julie and Melissa took the time to learn my style and picked top-notch materials in my colors and in my budget without looking cheap. The nice thing about this team is that they make suggestions on how I make my money go farther with different ideas in different phases. We already have plans for the next couple phases of improvements. There is still so much I want to do, but I am out of money for now.
