We were required to use an "approved right-of-way contractor" from a list provided by the City of Austin to have a parking pad/small driveway brought up to code.  I called several names on the list but many would not do a job so small for less than $2,500, saying that no matter how small the job, they would have to bring in a cement truck and that was what it would cost.  
Larry came to look at the driveway was timely and reasonable with his written estimate. He was willing to do a the small job for what it cost, and communicated with the City inspector to make sure he understood what was required. The rules and regulations were very confusing because this was off our back alley, and not a standard driveway.
Anyway, they were able to start right away and his guys worked on a Saturday to get it done. He picks up the phone when you call or calls you right back, and is also responsive via email. 
Honest guy, very nice. Highly recommend.

Larry Holt was recommended by someone who came to bid on the work but couldn't do the job. I called him and he came immediately to look at the job. He emailed his bid. Since I did not learn of him on Angie's List, I checked to see if he was listed.  He was listed and I hired him for the job. He promptly communicated with me through email and answered all my questions.  I was impressed at the promptness and efficiency of his workers, the machinery they used and overall work ethic. He had originally said it would take three days but surprised me by completing the job within two days. I could not be happier with the job and will rehire his company for any future work.

They have done a really good job so far; it is a big project. I will use them again in the future.

Our pier and beam foundation was old and in need of significant releveling and also replacement of old piers that weren't properly installed in the first place.  We hired an engineer to determine the extent of the problem and to lay the scope of work needing to be done.  Larry Holt was available and we engaged him based on his reputation and interest in getting started soon. By the end of the evaluation, we needed to have 22 piers replaced, 9 piers recapped to bring them up to the needed height, and about 100 linear feet of beams replaced to provide a solid foundation before we releveled the house.  We knew that, from one corner to the diagonal, the house was out of level by almost 6 inches! Holt's crew of 4 or 5 men worked each day for about 3 weeks to do the clearing, digging, etc.  They replaced the beams and did the releveling over a couple of more days, and then began to pour the new piers to conform with City code.  Altogether, it took a lot longer than I expected and Holt, too.  But the work was thorough, well-done, compliant with the engineer's standards, and the house is truly level--a wonderful ending. Holt and his crew needed to be supervised a bit, in that Holt was almost never on the job.  But the crew manager, Bernardo, was very competent and easy to communicate with.  Holt's cost estimations were a little sloppy, but he made revisions to suit us and we have no regrets whatsoever.

I don't think they could have done a better job. They were punctual, accurate and did an excellent job on placing the rebar. The pour went smoothly and the finished slab looked great. My contractor really liked them too. I will use them again. They were a pleasure to work with.
