We moved to Austin and during our first big outing we took our Dachshund to Goomingdales. The woman in charge seemed nervous but friendly. She said she was in the business for over 20 years. We were very excited to meet her and discover this place. She called us back after about 20 min. and said "come get your dog, I cant do anything with this dog". Our dog is kennel shy and I guess gave her trouble? We have now been taking the dog to PetSmart (yuck) for grooming for years now without a problem. It was a very unfortunate introduction the the good people of Austin TX.

From drop off to pick up I'm never disappointed! I've started taking water for Izzy to drink as soon as I pick her up because she's always thirsty.

Groomindales was fast and professional about their service. I had a special request regarding the grooming of my cat and they performed the service even though I think it might have been extra work for them. In the future I wouldn't worry about turning Molly over to the groomers at Groomingdales..

We don't use anyone else but Donna because she knows our dog, his cut, and he is comfortable with her. We fired two groomers before we found Groomingdales and now we have been using them for three years.

They always do a beautiful job, after listening attently to what I want for each dog on each visit. They put the dogs out on tables with short leashes rather than keeping them in crates the entire time. A bit prices, but the work is wonderful.

We have a 10 pound poodle who is usually frightened by other dogs. However, our dog was comfortable at Groomingdales. They have groomed him three times now and we have had an excellent experience each time. I would strongly recommend these groomers.

First, let me mention that I scheduled a rush groom since it was our first visit ever to the salon. My dog is now two and has been groomed about every 6 weeks since he was little. We had a great groomer but they moved out of town a while ago and we have been searching for a new groomer since. I do not like to cage my dog as he is so well behaved he never needs to be. Ever since, I have tried several different groomers an haven't had success with any of them. Don't get me wrong, my Yorkie got good cuts but some groomers are just rough and evil. I went to the PetsMart Salon about two weeks ago to get his nails trimmed and I have never been so freaked out by the way they handled my dog. That is a whole other story which I won't even go in to. I have a friend who also has a small dog and recommended Groomingdales to me. She is very sensitive to animal needs and was very impressed by their service. I looked them up online and liked what I saw on their website. I called and booked an appointment for this past Thursday. They have beds lining the walls for all the dogs so no cages!! YAY! Because of the Petsmart experience, I was more than happy to pay the extra for the rush service. My dogs hair wasn't too long but with 100+ degree weather, I can't let him get too hot because of his hair. I dropped my dog off around 8:15am. When we walked in, since it was our first visit, I was asked all kinds of questions about what I wanted him to look like after. Some of the questions I have never had a groomer ask but it made perfect sense from an information standpoint. The salon was very clean and quiet. The groomer took him behind the reception area (you could see over the half wall into the back room). I got a call about two and a half hours later that he was ready. I drove back to the salon (not the easiest to find on your first visit but once you know it is easy). As soon I walked in, I could see my dog perched on a bed along a back counter just hanging out watching the groomers in action. He was happy to see me. He looked so good. His coat was super soft and the groomer gave me a rundown of what had gone on (he was great for the clip but hated it when they messed with his feet). I felt like he was a kid at school because I got a full rundown of his actions. Overall, he did great. They took extra time tending to his needs (I shared the PetsMart story). I was very impressed by their abilities. Not only did my dog come back looking cuter than ever but he seemed very happy. We will go back the next time he needs a hair cut....no doubt about it.

As always, Groomingdales did a fantastic job. I have been to several groomers in town - and this is clearly the best. Most people do an adequate job of grooming poodles - i.e. looks good, but something just isn't right, the ears are too long or the tail is too short. My mini poodle always looks top notch after a visit here. Also, their prices are very reasonable, and actually a little less expensive than the large chain pet supply/grooming stores (depending on the cut). Just be prepared to take cash or write a check, they do not accept credit cards. They don't keep the dogs cooped up in crates, but have them out in the open in little beds. Finally, the staff seems to really love the dogs. That has not been my experience in other grooming salons in town.

Good experience for me, probably not so good for the cat.

The haircuts look good. The dogs were calm when I picked them up. The shop environment is quiet. I would take them both back.
