My initial contact with Chris at DigDug Construction was very positive. He gave me a price to dig trenches in my yard. I agreed to have the work done and the work was originally supposed to be performed on April 14, 2015. His guys never made it to my home to do the work that day and it seemed I could never get a solid date the work would be performed since then. On April 20, 2015 letting him know when I could be at home and that I hoped we could get the work completed soon. He replied to my email on April 20, 2015 and stated that he would try to get to it "this week." I didn't hear from Chris again, so I sent him an email On April 28, 2015 asking what the status was. I received an email from Chris that said if all goes well he wanted to get his guys over to my house to dig the trenches on Saturday, May 2, 2015. I replied that it would be perfect for that date. I did not hear from Chris again since that email and I finally called him on the evening of May 1, 2015 to verify that the work would be done the next day. Chris returned my call at 8:08am on Saturday, May 2, 2015 and told me that his guys were finishing up a job and they should be at my house by 11:00am and that he would call me when they were on their way. I waited around until 1:50pm at which point I called Chris and left a voicemail stating that noone had come to do the work and that I had some things to do and needed to move on with my day, which would require the work to be rescheduled. I also stated that I needed to get the work completed, as getting this job completed directely impacted other projects that depended on this work happening. I needed a firm date set that the work would be completed. Chris returned my call 2 minutes later and informed me that his team had already rented the trencher and that if it didn't happen today (May 2) that it would be a few weeks because he had two big jobs startting on Monday, May 4, 2015. . He then said that he had tried to get the job done several times before but I had never returned any of his multiple calls. For the record, there were not multiple calls from Chris to try to get the work done. I told him I would find another company to do the work.
The communication was not good on his side and I feel that my job was not a priority for him. Why would he start two "big" jobs on Monday when he hasn't done the work I hired him to do?
You are likely better off with another company if your job isn't big enough to make it a priority for DigDug Construction.
