It was a lot of work, they were here for a week. They were great. I had gotten 3 bids and they are by far the lowest and they did a fantastic job.

My initial contact with Chris at DigDug Construction was very positive.  He gave me a price to dig trenches in my yard.  I agreed to have the work done and the work was originally supposed to be performed on April 14, 2015.  His guys never made it to my home to do the work that day and it seemed I could never get a solid date the work would be performed since then.  On April 20, 2015 letting him know when I could be at home and that I hoped we could get the work completed soon.  He replied to my email on April 20, 2015 and stated that he would try to get to it "this week."  I didn't hear from Chris again, so I sent him an email On April 28, 2015 asking what the status was.  I received an email from Chris that said if all goes well he wanted to get his guys over to my house to dig the trenches on Saturday, May 2, 2015.  I replied that it would be perfect for that date.  I did not hear from Chris again since that email and I finally called him on the evening of May 1, 2015 to verify that the work would be done the next day.  Chris returned my call at 8:08am on Saturday, May 2, 2015 and told me that his guys were finishing up a job and they should be at my house by 11:00am and that he would call me when they were on their way.  I waited around until 1:50pm at which point I called Chris and left a voicemail stating that noone had come to do the work and that I had some things to do and needed to move on with my day, which would require the work to be rescheduled.  I also stated that I needed to get the work completed, as getting this job completed directely impacted other projects that depended on this work happening.  I needed a firm date set that the work would be completed.  Chris returned my call 2 minutes later and informed me that his team had already rented the trencher and that if it didn't happen today (May 2) that it would be a few weeks because he had two big jobs startting on Monday, May 4, 2015.  .  He then said that he had tried to get the job done several times before but I had never returned any of his multiple calls.  For the record, there were not multiple calls from Chris to try to get the work done.  I told him I would find another company to do the work.

The communication was not good on his side and I feel that my job was not a priority for him.  Why would he start two "big" jobs on Monday when he hasn't done the work I hired him to do?

You are likely better off with another company if your job isn't big enough to make it a priority for DigDug Construction.

Chris communicated with me often and via phone/email.  He was casual yet very professional.  I had already secured authorization from TXDOT (no City of Austin permit needed), but he also double-checked with them as well to ensure everything was compliant.  In the end, his supplier had a higher level grade of concrete available for my job and Chris was able to pass the saving on to me.  The work was flawless!  I wasn't on-site and managed the coordination and logistics from another state (I am an absentee business commercial owner).
Also, Chris followed up with a timely quote and covered the extent of the work to be performed.  I worked with over six other contractors who had a very, very hard time showing up, delivering OR inflating their prices.
You will be EXTREMELY happy with Dig Dug ....I know, I'm fairly thorough with these things and my business. Glad I found them on Angie's List...process before them was painful!

quick responses to my inquiry and even though I ended up dropping the communication ball, he was very forgiving when we managed to reconnect. They were pretty punctual and very speedy at the work. I was worried about damage to my all single pane window front wall facing the sidewalk, but his guys expertly avoided flying debris and managed to drive the little tractor through both of the clean outs in the front lawn (right on either side of the sidewalk).

Work was completed on time and on budget. Chris and team were awesome to work with. Even though we knew what we wanted, Chris had great suggestions on how to approach the project. We are super happy with the work and already planning another project with the Dig Dug team. Would highly recommend!

It went great! they were very professional and careful about how the work was done so that nothing was knocked over with the equipment. They told me their schedule and told me of the changes because of the weather. Chris also came out after a rain to make sure that everything drained the way it was planned.

Can't say enough good things about Chris and Dig Dug Construction! Excellent communication, very professional, came when they said they would and they did an AMAZING job of clearing our lot! They took extra care around our oaks when removing the cedars. Beautiful job! We will definitely use them again and I will recommend them to anyone who needs similar services.

From start to finish, Chris and his crew did a great job. Chris provided several different design options for the driveway and worked with me to select the most appropriate one. He handled all of the permitting and inspection process with the city and kept me informed along the way. The work was done as promised and the driveway looks great.

DigDug was prompt and remembered us from a previous bid they did before we decided we were going to go through with getting this work done. They were nice and offered ideas to help keep our cost down. They arrived when they said they would, got the work done, and left the extra granite we paid for so that we could use it, if needed. They left our yard level, and our porches able to drain water like they should.

They did an excellent job, the quality of the work was excellent. My only complaint would have to be the cost but overall we were very happy.

I had to remove some concrete to met impervious cover requirements for the City of Austin. They were attentive to my concerns about removing concrete adjacent to sprinkler system. They did the job exactly as requested. I highly recommend them.
