Look, we are local Austinites who used to always buy from Depew. Mike seems like a decent guy but the tech he sent out argued with my husband about whether this overpriced Electrolux dishwasher even had a heating element -- it does. It's broken. Then the tech argued with my husband about the upper spray arm indicating it worked by spinning it with his hand and going "see"? In fact, it's broken too. Depew replaced this lemon in 2012, we have spent hundreds on repair on this "high-end" dishwasher. And we are still washing the dishes by hand. Now they want another $350 to replace the circuit board to fix the heater which still won't fix the upper spray arm. We're just done. Back to Lowes, Home Depot or Conns and we'll search Angie's list for reliable repair services. Like I said, Mike is a decent guy, but we have tried for three years to make this right and we're just done.

Update as of 4/16:  Mike revised his quote to $169.00. (After the $80 service call) by phone and in-writing. Then they just had the nerve to call back and ask for another $57 and they would not honor the written quote.  I thought they were trying to be professional, but they were really just trying scam more money.  I've paid them, just to get these crooks out of my life. I feel like I've been played, these people make their real money off service calls, not the sales; so NEW PURCHASERS BEWARE.

Depew Appliance came out to give me the estimate on the repair for my refrigerator. They told me that they would give me an estimate within 24 hours, but when they came out they weren't able to give me an estimate, because even though I called them there was no zero number on they said they will figure it out, but when they came out they couldn't figure it out.

They didn't do what they promised they would do so there's nothing good about it.

They came within a half hour of me calling them. The man was extremely knowledgeable and he told me all sorts of information that I didn't know about. He fixed it quickly and said if it broke within the next thirty days they would repair it free of charge under warranty. I would recomend them to anyone.

The techician preformed the service then told me the amount I owed and gave me a bill for $81.18, which I paid with my credit card. When revewing my credit card transactions online I noticed that Depew charged my card $178.07. I called to inquire about the higher charge and they told me the technician should not have told me the charge would be $81.18 or given me a receipt for that amount. I was told the office staff could adjust the bill despite what had been agreed to. I told them that was unacceptable. They promised to talk to the technician and call me back. They never returned my call. I called back 2 other times to address the issue. Once they didn't return my call and the 2nd time they said they would not adjust the charge to the amount on my bill. The transaction is in dispute with my credit card campany. Homeowners beware!!

I went to Depew because I like to support local business. Their sales staff didn't leave me feeling very positive, nor were their prices that good, but I was willing to give them a pass. Their installers came, and they were capable and friendly, but the microwave had a loud rattle once installed. They said, this was no problem and it would get resolved immediately. I've been waiting for over a month for that to happen. In the mean time I've got a microwave they installed on June 7th that mostly works but makes a noise like someone is rattling a can full of forks while it runs.
Thus far Depew has been unresponsive and largely unapologetic for the problem blaming it on back ordered parts. I called today asking for them to come remove the microwave and provide a refund for the defective product.
Overall, a very disappointing experience. I cannot recommend Depew to anyone. as

As a small, local, family-owned business, we are dependent on our customers and their satisfaction to stay afloat. (removed member name) purchased the microwave in question on June 7 and called in one week later on June 14 to report the noise concern. We immediately ordered the necessary parts, but one of the parts is on back-order from Whirlpool Corporation and has been for many weeks. While most repair jobs are completed in a week at most, occasionally a manufacturer is unable to furnish factory replacement parts in a timely manner. We find these situations just as frustrating as our customers do, but unfortunately we do not have the power to force a manufacturer to produce the necessary parts. We can only order them and wait for the manufacturer. We understand (removed member name) desire for a refund and replacement. In many industries, retailers are able to send defective merchandise to manufacturers with minimal involvement from the customer, but appliance manufacturers, across the board, do not operate this way. We cannot take the microwave back because Whirlpool Corporation, the manufacturer, will not accept it as a return from us. We would be at a complete loss for the microwave. Again, we understand that this is quite frustrating, but it is Whirlpool's policy, not ours. We do feel it is worth mentioning that (removed member name) microwave is perfectly operational despite the undesirable noise. What's more, we contacted (removed member name) just yesterday to notify her that the back-ordered part finally arrived, and we are dispatching our technician today to complete the repair. Again, we appreciate (removed member name) notifying us of her dissatisfaction, but we also always appreciate an opportunity to perform repair work before our repair work is evaluated. Did not even examine washer just stated because of age of machine and a general description of problem that it needed new transmission and would be cheaper to buy a new one. Had to order bulb for microwave. A difficult time removing micro a week later when bulb came in, it's part of a built in unit. Asked if I got new washer yet and was told someone else came out, changes belts and tightened up a couple of things and it was working great again, he then scoffed and rolled his eyes and made little joke with helper. Did not reattach exhaust vent correctly and had to come back to reattach. I told them NOT to send the same man again but that was disregarded and he came. The man I talked with to do the rescheduling was rude and uncaring.The timer for the cleaning cycle which worked before the unit was disassembled no longer works but I will not have them back in my house ever for anything even though the salesman that sold me my dishwasher 6 months ago was very nice.

It was just a washer that needed to be repaired. I just paid $75 for the trip charge. He very nice and everything went fine. He could have told me that there was something big wrong with the machine and I would not have known, but he was honest and fixed it in a hurry and he also told me what I could do if it happens again. I was very satisfied. I did not like it much that I had to pay so much for a trip charge but that was ok. He was on time.

They were very prompt and did a good job. Unfortunately, they told me that the repair was covered by the warranty and then had to call me back and tell me it wasn’t. It was a bit disappointing that he didn’t tell me that. In the end, it cost me $155 or something more than I thought it would be. However, their price was reasonable. The work itself was done well. The customer service was actually very good. They came quickly and on time, and did the work very quickly and efficiently. If it hadn’t been for the misreading of the warranty, I would have been very happy. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Washer wouldn't run despite multiple tries. Company made appointment to fix on next business day. Workman called in advance and arrived on time. Determined problem due to a loose connection. No parts needed. Showed how to fix it in the future without a repair call. Gave option of ordering a new part that would prevent the problem from recurring. Repairman was courteous, helpful, and fast. Bill was minimum amount: $75 for service call plus tax.

They kept saying that the unit was fixed, but it wasn't. They'd leave and the frig would be OK for a few days and then the coils would freeze up again and the unit would quit cooling. I had to take so much time off work to deal with this company that I could have purchased a new refrigerator with my lost wages. Their office personnel were not very nice and they never, at any time, showed any remorse for the inconvenience they put me through. The one good thing I'll say about them, though, is that the actual repairman was extremely polite and friendly. He just couldn't actually fix the problem.

Now that the appliances are all installed I am very happy. However, when I made the purchase, I wasn't told that not all were in stock. It took a while for the order to come in. The installation was very smooth, set for a convenient time. The washer had a latch problem which has already been repaired.

They were wonderful I would have to say and very efficient and helpful. He explained everything really well to us and we asked that they use only whirlpool parts and no after market stuff if at all possible. He did a good job and was finished in about an hour.
