DeMoss Plumbing; Can't praise this company enough! Excellent work, excellent workers, excellent price, job done within the time frame (giving them a break on waiting on the city for permitting and for the arborist to give ok to finish...what else is new), and they cleaned up everything after working on the job every day. They would even replant plants they had to remove but that's something I wanted to do. If you need any plumbing done, give them a try. DeMoss Plumbing Co., Inc. 512.258.5333

DeMoss was recommended by our insurance company after we had our foundation leveled and the follow-up plumbing test indicated possible leaks. Our initial contact and testing by Johnny was a good experience. Johnny seemed very knowledgeable and was very courteous and thorough in his assessment. After obtaining a second opinion from another plumber, we decided to go with DeMoss because their estimate was substantially lower.
We signed the work contract with DeMoss on 2/20/14 and were told that work would begin within 2 - 4 weeks. After hearing nothing from them, we called to follow-up on 4/3/14 and were told that they did not have the contract. We resubmitted the contract and were told that it would be 4 weeks until the work could start. We followed up again on 4/18/14 and were told that we were 2 -3 weeks out. We were contacted on 5/5/14 and were told that work would begin on 5/22/14. Work began on 5/22/14 but they only worked a total of 8 hours the 1st week, and 12 hours the 2nd week. The job was nowhere near complete but they did little or no work for 2 full weeks. After repeated follow-ups, they showed up on 6/11/14 and completed the repair. On 6/16/14 another leak test was performed and it failed. A more detailed test was scheduled for 6/24/14 and confirmed that a leak still existed. Then there was no contact for another week until we contacted them on 7/1/14.
A new contract was provided and signed on 7/2/14 for additional work to find and repair a second leak. Work on the new repair began on 7/10/14. They did not show up until 8/11/14, despite our repeated attempts to contact them. There were many days that went by where they either didn't show up or they showed up and worked only a couple hours. After many more calls and messages, the work was finally completed on 8/26/14.
In summary, they were very unresponsive and a repair that was originally estimated to take one week, took 6 months to complete.

We had our slab foundation leveled last month and the plumbing company that the foundation repair company sent to do the initial leak test found a leak. It is their policy to test for a leak within days of the foundation repair, and the plumbing company they use is owned by the same owners. Since many people believe that to be a conflict of interest, DeMoss Plumbing was highly recommended to me to come do the leak isolation test (finding the leak that the other company reported) and then do any subsequent repairs. They specialize in this sort of situation so I felt they were the best choice. Their protocol is to wait at least two weeks before doing any leak test after foundation repair, because there is still settling that occurs during that time. I am so thankful we waited for their first available appointment and had them do the test. They spent 3 hours testing the whole house for any leaks, and determined that we did not have a leak at all. They showed me all the water and pressure levels, and even re-tested to make sure. Having a Master Plumber certify that we do not have a leak is the only way we can keep our lifetime warranty valid on our foundation repair, and this was the best news we have had in a long time. We were expecting to spend $7000 to $12,000 on tunneling and digging up floors to repair the leak that the first company found. I do not what protocol the first company performed their test, even leaving the ice maker on in the fridge can skew the results. DeMoss made sure that the ice maker was off. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone.

They were incredibly professional. I had a long talk with the owner, David DeMoss, who sent his operations manager to review the situation who suggested right off the bat that we get someone to check the washing machine's valve. Sure enough, it was defective and the source of the wet floor (a closet in an adjacent bedroom). Nevertheless, since the other company's plumbers said a leak had been detected, we asked DeMoss to check for that. They ran the tests, isolating the house from the yard, and determined there was nothing in the house and to the extent there was a slight drop in pressure, it was a slow leak for which we'd have to go to considerable expense to locate in the yard, but it was so minimal, it didn't need addressing immediately. A major component of their bill included undoing what the first company had done, i.e., putting together our pipes which the other company had cut (one below the floor surface, for some reason which mystified the DeMoss plumbers). They explained everything they were doing and gave us details and explanations for the testing procedure that the other company was very vague about, which was why we looked for a second opinion. They even provided me with documentation I could use when I asked them to provide it for a complaint I made to the Plumbing Examiners Board. Fortunately, I found DeMoss through my sister who is a claims adjuster. She mentioned she had reviewed numerous claims in which that company had done work in the aftermath of the Bastrop fires and she had found their prices and their work to be quite reasonable. I can't recommend them enough.

We called and explained the problem and they were going to come out around noon that day to identify the problem and give us an estimate to fix it. They charged $95/hr with a one hour minimum to come out and look at it. They got there a few hours late, which was fine, things happen. They said they worked until 6:45 that day. Since we don't live in the house (it's vacant at the moment) we don't know exactly when they got there or when the left. They said they had to come by the next day to finish determining the problem. When we finally talked to them on the second day they told us a pipe needed to be repaired and they would send us an estimate for that, which was fine. The problem I had was that they charged us for 8 hours at $95/hr ($760 for labor) just to figue out what the problem was. This is a small, one bathroom house. It was pretty clear where the water on the garage floor was coming from but I do understand that it would need to be determined exactly where the leak in the water heater was coming from. But really, 8 hours?!?!? When I expressed shock I was told that at least they didn't charge me the overtime rate for the time they stayed past 5:00 on the first day. What?!?!? They came over 2 hours after the time they were supposed to come the first day and they chose to stay past 5:00. I had no idea about overtime rates as they never mentioned it and I had no idea they would expect me to pay the overtime rate after being at my house for approximately 3 hours. I would not use them again.

Eric and a helper arrived exactly when they said they would on both days they were at our home. They did a good job of installing the black gas pipe as well as cleaning up after themselves and leaving our home clean each day.

Our house had a drain line back up our kitchen sink. I called Roto Rooter to come out and unclog my drain. They could not fix the problem due to the pipe under my slab being broke. I call my insurance and they performed an evaluation on my pipes to see if I would be covered under my home owner s insurance policy. My insurance hired DeMoss Plumbing for the testing. Two days after they finished the test my wife went to wash clothes, DeMoss Plumbing forgot to put the drain hose back in the drain from the washing machine and we flooded our 3 month old wood floors in the entire house. We had to move out for two days while emergency cleanup company came out to dry the floors. DeMoss Plumbing s insurance is covering the damage. DeMoss Plumbing quoted me about $4900 to fix the problem. My insurance was not going to cover the broken pipes under the slab so I called around and no one does what DeMoss said they would do, which is tunnel under the slab and fix my two leaks. I had to call De Moss back and have them fix my pipes out of pocket. David DeMoss did negotiate with me and came down off his price to just over $4000. However, after signing the contract it took about 10-12 weeks for them to schedule the work. After starting the work 8 weeks ago they are still not done. I keep getting the excuse that they use different crews for different parts of the work and that they have also been held up by the rain. It rained one time in the last three to four months. I just wish they would do the work I paid them for and be done. I am a project manager for a local utility contractor who lays large pipe all over the city of Austin and this whole project has been poorly planned and executed to say the least.

They worked very hard not only to find the source of the leak but then fixed it too. They were the nicest people. They really dug and dug to get up under our foundation. I think a lot of guys would have passed on doing that for me and crawling into a hole. The price was in line for the size of the job they did.

Our sewer system is working great now. That s really nice. The workers were here when promised. Our scheduled time was just a couple days after we called them. They are a very professional company. Their employees are wonderful and helpful.

They are a fabulous company. They were very reasonable. Other companies quoted much, much more. We communicated with the owner, David Moss, directly. He even stopped by to introduce himself to my husband. We had a plumbing line that was actually crushed by a backhoe when our home was built. The line had a slow leak and we noticed the problem when we started having trouble flushing the toilet. The affected bathroom was on the other side of the house from our street. They had to tunnel clear across our home. They then needed to let it settle before it could be inspected. They put very heavy plates to cover the ends of the holes so no children could get under the house. After the inspection, they filled the hole. They service was the best. They were professional, clean and honest. I would recommend them to everyone.

Two man team arrived on time. They were very friendly and knew exactly what needed to be done. They cleaned up afterwards. It was not a simple project, yet they were really efficient.
